I am updating my review because I just found out that the old subfloor underneath our vinyl flooring it was on top of the slab should've been lifted up.. We had someone from another water mitigation company come out today and there's high levels of moisture trapped under the subfloor. One Star was issued for Scope Environmental Remediation to get your attention. They deserve a 5 Star rating for their emergency response. We had a water leak through our refrigerator filter resulting in over one inch of water in our kitchen, eating area, family room, powder room and laundry room late Saturday afternoon. Spent Saturday night vacuuming up the water with neighbor and plumber. Sunday morning called Scope Environmental Remediation. Sevak Killisian was in our house within a couple of hours following our emergency call with blowers and assessing our water damage. He followed up Monday with additional blowers and humidifiers and evaluated the extent of water contamination. We had eleven blowers and three dehumidifiers running around the clock for 12 days. We ended up with minimal damage. The demolition group was good to work with and did a good job with removing contaminated vinyl flooring and carpet with just some minor issues. Dealing with the repair group was frustrating and terrible which resulted in the overall rating to be one Star. Communication with repair personnel was difficult. They would not provide us with contractor information when requested so that we could begin looking into replacement flooring and carpeting. The repair estimate by the insurance company adjuster was approximately $15K. Scope came in with a $50K ridiculous estimate, which included a moving van, forklifts and replacing cabinets and vanities, none of which were required. The estimator had not been to our house to properly evaluate what repair work was really required. We canceled using Scope for the repairs. read more

my ins company had them come to clear out the mold and repair all the damage from a leak in the unit above me. the claim started in 2020 they did not open all the walls only one little area and the mold is back or should I say was not taken care of correctly. They replaced my custom cabinets with some retail junk that doesn't even match my adjacent closet and cheap flooring that don' match my other flooring. They first sent a disgruntled employee who walked out on the job and explained that his employer abuses and overworks them. They send another subcontractor that had to have a translator because he didn't speak English and banged out the job as fast, shotty and cheap as possible. They closet organizer was not installed well and the drawers never closed properly and one of the close rods falls when you hang close from it. They also didn't patch all the holes or touch up all the paint touchups. they finally finished at the end of 2021 now November of 2022 everything they did is destroyed plus the walls in my bathroom and wall floors and furniture in my bedroom ALL HAVE BLACK MOLD. read more

We had a leak from our hot water heater that we had our home warranty deal with. They didn't fix it properly and year later we discovered it was still slowly leaking and had caused mold. We had been fighting with them for months to fix it properly and pay for mold but they refused. This is when we called SCOPE and had them do the mitigation. They are a wonderful company and quickly worked to get everything completed and house back to normal. This company has been so responsive in cleaning up the smoke in our home from the Woolsey Fire. The cleaning is not yet done so I can't speak to that yet, but they came out quickly, took the time to give us an accurate estimate (we had others come out who said they wouldn't until the adjuster came), and they drafted the work order quickly. They also were kind working extra hours; Veronica waited after five to get my paper work to avoid delays. We called the usual companies but went with scope bc we triply felt their trustworthiness. Also big plus--is going through insurance--they only do as much as the insurance will cover unless you authorize otherwise. So you are not out of pocket or shocked by a bill. read more

What a great experience with smoke damage remediation following the Wolsey fire.... I regret taking so long to give a complement to this great team. We had quotes from multiple companies that were open ended and what seemed to be highly exaggerated to repair ash, soot, and smoke damage to our home. Our insurance agent was fighting some of these higher costs. We looked around and found some slightly more reasonable contractors, but none were as reasonable as Scope. Their estimate was fair relative to other contractors and the work quality was excellent. Better yet, there were no surprise fees at end. The work quality was great and done quickly. A pipe broke in the wall behind our kitchen sink and had been leaking water for almost a week before the mildew smell became too much for me to handle and I was able to notice it. I called the plumber who recommended Scope, they came out and evaluated the situation and told me they would work with my insurance company directly. From there they came out, set up some equipment (rather noisy equipment, in truth) and once my insurance approved the work, they managed the entire process and all I had to pay was my deductible, and for the plumbing repair work. They removed two walls, were able to save my granite countertop and my cabinets. Unfortunately, I had poor quality flooring and a lot of that had to be replaced. I never got to work with them. I scheduled an appointment. They gave me a 2 hour time frame for their person to come in on Saturday 2/16/2019. On the day of the appointment, about an hour and a half into the time frame, their person called and said he was running late and would not make it. He asked to reschedule for Monday 2/18/2019. He said he would let the front office know but he didn't give me a time frame. No one showed up on Monday. I called the front office and asked if someone was coming. The lady said that there was no scheduled appointment for me. She rescheduled for Tuesday 2/19/2019 after 4:30pm. She said that because it was technically after hours, she would have anyone available after 4:30 to come in, with a call letting me know they were coming 30 minutes before they come in. On Tuesday, no one came by. I decided that I gave plenty of chances. I was beyond patient and it's too bad that this happened. Update: I just got a call from one of the owners. He apologized for missing the appointments. He stated that it should not had happened and he was looking into where the mistakes was made. I appreciate being called and for taking responsibility. They came in one hour which was really impressive given it was 2am in the morning. They explained every step and were very professional and knowledgable. They really knew how to take care of this, and what's amazing is they didn't charge me anything. They took care of the water damage, and replaced almost all the floors in my house, repainted and changed out the majority of my upstairs bath. Worst company ever! I will give them the benefit of the doubt since it was around the holiday but that's still no excuse for the poor service they provided. They left those loud fans in our home for 5 days straight and never came to check on them. They only came to pick them up because we prompted them to come check and they found out the area was dry. The actual construction work remains untouched til this day. They didn't even do anything but place some fans and the cost was over $2000. This was the first water loss we had ever experienced and they knew this and I feel like they took full advantage of us. We finally decided to go with another company and I kept asking for an invoice so that we could pay and be done with it but they never provided one. So finally our adjuster wrote an emergency repair estimate and a check and I sent this estimate to them and all of a sudden they knew how much was due and it turns out it was the exact amount our appraiser wrote the estimate and check for.
