Sunday, Sept 15, 2013. Wife's birthday so went to Scorpion Bay location for late lunch. Arrived at about 3pm and were seated outside. The table behind us, populated by about six customers, was loud, annoying, unruly, and profane. Two of the male customers were standing and contributed greatly to this raucous verbal display, as was one woman who was very obviously inebriated - annoying everyone within hearing distance. I asked our wait-person if she would please ask the customers at that table to hold it down for the reasons stated...she replied that she would be happy to do so. After a moment or two, one of those two standing males commented to the others that they needed to settle down; "we might be cut off by the restaurant," or words to that effect clearly overheard. The obnoxiously drunk female and her companion(s) then left the restaurant. We were able to enjoy our meal for the next 20~25 minutes or so. As I was paying our check, the woman and her companion were permitted to re-enter the restaurant and returned to the same table. Unsteady on her feet, she fell over one of the seated individuals at their table and began an ugly, horribly profane tirade using gutter filth "F" bombs, while describing sexual acts in the grossest terms possible, oblivious to the harm she was causing to other customers caught up in having to listen to that with no recourse. I stood up and confronted her - having to raise my voice to 'command' levels - it took two attempts before she was able to comprehend through her drunken state that someone was trying to communicate with her. I ordered her to cease her profanity; there were families, children, and babes in arms present there. I then demanded to see the restaurant manager. At this point, two male employees came outside, asking what was going on. One came to me and stated, "We'll handle this." "No, you won't," I replied. "Our wait-person 'handled' it properly when she asked them the first time and they left. Who exactly permitted them to come back in and start right were they left off? Is this your idea of handling it?" I believe the woman's companion was back at the bar ordering more alcohol. My wife became so upset she also confronted that woman and demanded that she be quiet and stop her tirade. I informed Dillon's employees I was going to contact their management and inform them of the type of environment being permitted in their establishment. That inebriated female is in violation of just about every "Sexual Harassment" policy that I'm aware of in the United States. I believe also that the Dillon's bar employees are guilty of over-serving a customer who was observably drunk...an action that is illegal in Arizona with severe penalties. This incident was humiliating, embarrassing, and distressful to both my wife and I. Had I not already paid for our meal, I would have refused to do so under those circumstances. I was exactly one step away from calling the Police to have her arrested and initiating a complaint against the Dillon's establishment for the 'over-service' issue I believe happened. Dillon's management needs to educate its employees about existing sexual harassment policies/laws, the penalties for over-serving an observably inebriated customer, and how to handle such incidents appropriately in order that other customers do not have to be accosted by such unacceptable public behavior stretched far beyond any acceptable line of civility and proper decorum. Failure to act correctly and in a timely manner, coupled with permitting re-entry of that drunk individual caused a great deal of harm today and ruined my wife's birthday. I note, after reading quite a number of customer reviews, that this is not the first such incident of its kind in one of Dillon's establishments...there being a similar incident involving an inebriated customer swearing grossly to a family with a 4 year old child becoming a target for his angst. Be aware I sent this concern to the district manager email address given to me by a Dillon's employee...who refused to give me that district manager's phone number. He has failed to acknowledge my email or respond in any manner. read more

I visited Lake Pleasant in April 2012 and rented a boat from Scorpion Bay Boat Rentals. The staff was terrific, they made the paperwork quick and were easy to work with. I called around and their prices were the best I found and they have nice boats (Sea~Rays). Very good service and good food. Beautiful setting, marina is rght next to the restaurant and open to the public to stroll around. My only complaint was people feeding the ducks from their table. We left but some older people were visibly upset with all the racket and fat ducks flying up at them. read more

I rented a 24' pontoon boat for my birthday here. We had a group of 9 and we had a blast. The entire process was very easy--booked online, checked in quickly, quick overview of the boat and the area, and we were off. The boat was clean, spacious, and powerful enough to pull a tube, which was a lot of fun. We also brought a portable speaker, but the onboard speaker system was quite good. I also want to mention a personal shout out to Kevin. He was very helpful at the check in and out. I have a Down Syndrome brother and Kevin was sure patient with him as we were gathering our mess on the boat. We rented a 20' pontoon boat for the 3 of us on Monday, 3/12. Placed a reservation on line with no problem. Showed up at the marina with about 10 minutes to 8a. Got checked in, given a map of the lake and told where we were not allowed to go (nesting eagles) and where a good fishing spot may be and we were on our way! The customer service provided by Scorpion Bay Marina was fabulous (sorry I don't remember the gentleman's name in the office who went over everything nor the other gentleman who reviewed the operation of the boat). We were informed to be back by 12:30p (we did a half day rental) and if we were having a good time and wanted to continue our day, to just give them a call (can get cell reception over most of the lake) to extend our rental. The pontoon boat was comfortable and the shade welcome when the sun was out. You do have to pay for the fuel you use - upon returning the boat, we were advised to pull up to the gas pump and give the guy our credit card. Since we were fishing and not motoring around the lake, we did not use a lot of fuel. Would definitely rent from these guys again! For those who have never been to the marina (like us) - you do have to haul your things from the parking lot down a flight of stairs-which were very shallow- (or take one of two lifts) to get down to the marina. If you have a lot of things (ice, cooler, food, etc.) a wagon would be helpful. Since there were only 3 of us and we only planned for half a day on the lake we did not have a problem. Restrooms at Scorpion Bay were also clean! Did not try out the grill - although by the time we got back to the marina the place was really busy! A great day out on the lake! read more

Dillons is Dillons .... the restaurant itself is nothing spectacular (it's not bad ... it's actually pretty good) but the view at Scorpion Bay Marina is absolutely beautiful. When we went, we ate outside right on the deck on the marina and it has a gorgeous view, literally on the water. read more

Great customer service in person and on the phone. Much better than the last Boat rental I went to at lake pleasant run by cracked out teenagers. We reserved a boat for a specific time but showed up way early to the lake, on memorial day weekend. We called and asked if we could get the boat early for the same amount of time and they were able to accommodate us. There were no crowds or obnoxious crazy people in sight although it was Sunday afternoon, could have something to do with that. They seemed professional and were very willing to help out with any questions we had. They had us on the boat in minutes and didn't force us to stand at the dock for 30 minutes to explain everything as if we were dumb. The boat (21'? Pontoon) looked very clean and there were no issues with it for the 4 hours we were on it. Our 2 big dogs also loved the boat and they have no issues about letting our dogs on the boat. read more

We got the 20' Pontoon-it was clean and very comfortable. The staff even helped us transport our goodies (about 6 bags & a cooler) from the stairs to the boat ramp with their golf cart! Had lunch for valentine's day yesterday with my sisters. Ordered their Dam Good Tacos. Unfortunately, the menu doesnt specify type of tortillas. Tacos are made with corn torts...as far as I'm concerned. Came with cold flour tortillas so I returned them and asked for corn torts. And...of course they changed them out to "cold" corn tortillas. And very dry, no sauce whatsoever! Anyway the local duck ended up eating the tortillas. We also ordered an appetizer but had to ask for small plates and extra napkins. Best food to order is probably hamburgers...etc. Fast food. Seating and the drinks were good. Saguaro Lake has excellent food. Lake pleasant is more of a fast food restaurant. read more

The Bluetooth connection kept going in and out on the pontoon boat we rented for a FULL DAY. We drive all the way back to the dock and when they tried to fix it they saw that it kept disconnecting as well. It ruined our good time. They never offered a discount only an apology. Sucks read more

Chartered a double decker boat for 40 friends in my apartment complex to get out of the house and have some free time. We scanned everyone's temp and made sure we were safe before heading out to the lake. I have used scorpion bay a couple times with pontoon boats but this was my first time with a charter boat, it was just as easy to book the charter! everyone was super helpful and the captain was awesome! I just refered to him as Captain, but I think his name was Sean or James...sorry, my memory for names kinda sucks...Anyway, it was a great time and we really needed it! read more

Had an awesome time here at Scorpion Bay! We first came to Pleasant Harbor, but they were rude to our group of 5 and wanted to over charge us so we turned away. The boats here are A LOT cleaner and newer looking. I can't even describe how well the service here is compared to Pleasant Harbor... All in all, the 20' pontoon we rented was in excellent condition and everyone enjoyed themselves! Definitely recommend and we will be back soon! read more

5 star all the way! Rented a powerboat for a day with water skis and a tube. Super easy rent online - paperwork was ready on arrival and we were on the water in 5 minutes! Boat was great for 1 adult and 5 teens - lots of room and plenty of power to get skiers up. Checkout was super quick and easy - pulled up to fuel dock, off loaded our gear, paid for gas and we were on done. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Maybe a bit further than Pleasant Harbor but worth it. read more

We had a group of 14 and we rented a 24' pontoon on 8/3/19 with a half shade. The whole process was easy and the marina employees were helpful, chill, and kind. They gave us a map and tips, and we were on our way. The lake was gorgeous and the water was perfect and warm. We had the best day. At the end, the marina guys helped us get into the gas, filled it up, and we were done. I totally recommend to everyone! read more

We like scorpion bay a lot. It is a little out of the way, and that's fine by us. The grill on the marina is awesome and the large floating dock is cool too. They offer lifts and stairs to get down to the dock. The biggest complaint we have is the rental prices. They are a bit ridiculous, upwards of $500-600 a day for a pontoon boat/boat/jet skis. That is crazy. It explains why we always see so many boats with cobwebs sitting at the docks. I would happily pay $200-250 to take a pontoon boat out, but I am not paying the same price as renting a 24' toy hauler for a week and disappearing into the mountains. Maybe if their prices ever come down, or they start to offer midweek specials (which is when we go to the lake to avoid crowds) we might rent some stuff. read more

Great rental company. Prices are reasonable and lower than some others'. Pontoon boat was pretty much spotless. We brought antibacterial spray and paper towels with us, and there was no dirt on the towel after a swipe. Polite, helpful staff. Rented a pontoon boat for several hours and it was a simple process with helpful staff and a nice, new boat. The lake was smaller than we expected but plenty of little areas to just pull out of ski areas. Will definitely rent there again. I was pleasantly pleased with Scorpion Bay Marina. Known more as the "party marina," since it's a public marina, I found everything to be seamless, clean and the staff to be friendly! Scorpion Bay does it all. They do boat rentals, docking for your own boat and they also have a fun restaurant called Dillons. It's a great place to begin and end your day at the lake! read more

I concur with Carlos A. It may not have been an obvious option that there was take out food from Dillon's but nonetheless there certainly is. If it is served at the restaurant, it can be ordered to go. If you are having a party on the boat they will also serve it how ever it is convenient for you. If you would like, they will also put the (for example) burnt ends in a separate tub for you to make the sandwiches later on water. In short what I have learned at Scorpion Bay Marina and Dillon's as well it that all you have to do is ask. The friendly staff is just happy to have your business. I highly suggest this facility. Go out there and enjoy the views. While there, ask questions to any of the staff members. Their attitudes make it obvious that they love what they do. read more

First time eating here. We came in twice, first time at 11:00 am (4 of us) for cold drinks and appetizers. Sat on the patio and had a great time. Got the ceviche and flatbread---ceviche was good, flatbread was okay.Server was very nice, a little slow, but very accommodating. We were also coming back later with friends for dinner, only to find out they close at 4pm! Server said they would serve us if we walked in at 4:55. We did return at 3pm, (6 of us) but our friends couldn't make it until 3:45. They tried seating us outside, but the area they put us in was very warm and no air circulation. We asked if we could sit inside (reason for not sitting inside originally was the volume of the music). Asked if they could turn down the music, server reluctantly said yes, but didn't. I finally asked the hostess and she turned down the volume so we could talk. This server made it clear that we would need to have Everything, including all drinks ordered before 4pm. We ordered, food was really good, the server seemed to be put out about serving us. Our review: 5 stars for food and patio ambiance, 2 stars for second servers attitude and hours of operation! As for hours of operation, we saw ALOT of lost revenue due to closing at 4pm! While we're we're sitting there,we saw at least 40 people turned away, you have a bar, why would you want to turn away customers?? read more

Rented a pontoon boat here today! Everyone was super nice and helpful! The pontoon boat was in great condition- they called it "used" but it seemed it almost brand new to me! We had our 10 month old with us and they had the appropriate sized baby life jacket for her and were helpful getting her in/off the boat. Great little marina in the middle of the lake, they have a good selection of boat accessories, Dillion's BBQ is right on the dock and staff is always helpful. I am not a member, but a frequent visitor and they've even given me a jump for free when I left my stereo on. Check it out if you're on lake pleasant great place to stock up and cool off. read more

The power was out due to a storm the night before and the General store was closed (no power to process credit card transactions). We needed a safety clip to get a jet ski going, but we didn't have any cash. They just gave it to us for free. These are nice people, buy things from them. read more

Don't waste your valuable time and $ on this place, we ran out of gas in the middle of the lake because we were told the tank was full. When told them the gauge shows less than half they told us the gauge was broken. It took almost 45 before we were towed back to the dock then they told us, who told you the gauge was broken, there's nothing wrong with the gauge!!!! They also told us there was an anchor and orange flag on-board but there wasn't and required us having to go back to the dock..... The raving reviews baffles me or are being posted by themselves, I find it hard to believe I'm an isolated incident..... read more

We rented a 24' pontoon for the afternoon and it was awesome! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, booking online was very easy and since we had a reservation it took no time at all getting on board once we arrived. The whole place was very accommodating and the lake was gorgeous. The only note to add was that we didn't get some helpful details in regards to the boat- like the seats opening for storage and the anchor being stored up front, but we called from the water and they helped immediately. Nice marina with a great restaurant! Dillions is great in town and better on the lake if you ask me. Great BBQ and the staff isn't bad to look at either (doesn't hurt that everyone is wearing bathing suites). The place is new so its nice and clean, ate here twice but have not just hung at the bar yet. The food blows away Pleasant Harbor but its been a while since I have eaten there. Only complaint is that its another 10 minutes to get here over pleasant harbor where I normally drop my boat in the water. Oh yeah the elevator is super slow and you must use it to get large items like ice chests down to the marina but at least they have an option. Those are hardly things to complain about so check it out if you havent and even if you dont have a boat, just come down and take the wife to dinner here. Its not fancy (very casual) but good food and good service....and great view! read more

I was on a Jet Ski and needed to fill up my sister's and mine. The guy who met us there helped us out by working the fuel pump and helping us gas up so we could be on our way fast! lol I will go back here agian. Dillons is a whole other story. We were hesitant to head down here after Dillon's left Scorpion bay but we were wrong. We got down there at about 11:15 on a Friday, seated ourselves and an awesome server, Gina, was there immediately. Never once did we have dry drinks, nor did we want for anything. She was attentive without being oppressive. She was friendly, personable and present without being overbearing. The food was good, and brought out promptly. I know there have been complaints on the pricing, but let's be real, you're at the lake, you will always pay higher prices but they were not exorbitant. read more

We came to rent boats for the day for one of our manager events. Not only was the service amazing but the boats were in great condition and even included tubes you could tow. Such a fun filled day and so worth the price! Highly recommend it. read more
