I researched 5 places and I wanted a more personal mom and pop experience instead of being with a group of people I don't know and that's what you will get with Mike at Size Matters. Mike was easy to work with, had great machines, stopped to tell us stories and facts on the area and we all felt safe with him and his pup, Sas, who came along for the ride. Mike had an extra jacket for my daughter, brought some snacks and water/soda's and is just a great dude. Every review before this speaks to how great Mike is and there is no shortage of truth in those statements! Great communication, a wealth of knowledge, and just a great dude. Called Mike on a Saturday and we were tearing it up early the next morning. I brought my 3 boys and we met Mike as early as I could rally the troops in the morning around 7:00am. When we got to the house, Mike had mentioned him and a friend he had at the house were going out riding as well and were planning on making their way to a little pond headed south on the Hassayampa and invited us to join them. I gladly took the offer and we had the BEST time. Plenty of areas to gas it, up hills, splashing through the river - we got it all in just a few hours. We'd stop every so often for a water break and a snack break and my boys had zero complaints about anything. They loved every minute of the trip. Even swapped drivers and got my oldest in the driver's seat and he was pumped. I just can't say what an amazing memory for me and my boys this was and Mike made it all happen for us. With Mike's guidance through the terrain, I was 100% confident in everything we did! Went to Peoria for the last week of Spring Training Baseball with my 12-year-old boy this year. Had an off day on that Sunday with no plans yet determined. Was going to see if we could rent some e-bikes and ride up & down the New River Trail. Glad that I changed plans! Ended up considering the possibility of a desert UTV tour but didn't think that it would be able to work out due to the short notice and all the stipulations required just to rent something. Was looking at all the local sites and reviews when I came across a recent review from a gentleman for Size Matters that sounded similar to the situation that I was currently in. So, I reached out to Mike via text message to see if he had any open spots for the day (bear in mind, this was at 6:45am). To my surprise, he responded! After a few texts, we then spoke on the phone and made our plans for the day to meet at 10am. Mike took us on a great tour just out of his own back yard in Buckeye and along the Hassayampa River area which had recently flooded. There was plenty of water and mud to make things exciting. I think we were out there for about 3.5 hours or so and only came in early because my son was getting hungry. We had a blast! Mike was a great guide, always scouting ahead and making sure it was safe for us and providing insights on the local landscape and recent happenings along the way. We didn't feel rushed or like "just another tourist" in any way. Hell, when we got back, he even cooked us some burgers for lunch!! Mike and his family were super-accommodating, and I greatly appreciated the no-nonsense approach to how he handles his business. We are planning on making this Spring training trip more frequently in the future and will definitely keep Size Matters on our itinerary each time. Shoot, we might even let Mom join us! read more

Mike was so accommodating and we are more then thankful for finding him to rent our ATVs from. He gave us such a detailed map with history for us to take on our trail ride. It was an absolute blast. If I could give this guy 100 stars I would! We called up Mike early on a Sunday morning and after telling him what we were looking to do, a hour later we were loaded up with 2 utility vehicles and on the road. Mike is a awesome guy with so much knowledge of the history and land that he mapped out the perfect adventure for me and my wife to go on! No one out there will know more about the trails and places to go then him and it's so much more because he will load you up with all the great history that goes with it! We were new to riding a utility vehicle but 20 minutes of instruction from Mike and we were pros. it was an extra bonus that you cant beat his prices!! I was planning a guys weekend away and was desperately trying to find an adventure and not your typical tour where some underpaid guide takes you and families around on mindless, slow, boring tour. Looking at all the other vendor reviews, it seemed that they were selling exactly what I didn't want. A slow, boring simple tour of the backcountry. Let me start by saying we had almost no experience on ATV's. So we were ill-equipped and ill-prepared to take out ATV's into the AZ desert and find trails. Mike not only provided everything we needed, but he also came out and was our guide for the day. (We only technically rented the ATV's and his truck) Mike is a wealth of knowledge, he not only has the most exciting stories, but he's a real-life Macgyver. Not only was our trip incredibly fun, but it was also educational. We traversed some technical areas, but he guided us novices. He also took a plethora of pictures for us and shared his snacks. I could sit here and go on all night, but the bottom line is Mike is one of the most caring, honest and passionate business owners I've met. I will be calling on his services again. EPIC, is the only way I can describe the experience. Nobody (and I mean, NOBODY) knows the intricate maze of obscure trails that wind their way through the 1,000 square miles of the Bradshaw Mountains like Mike Rose. And I'd wager that nobody loves the wilderness as much as him either. And it's that combination that makes Mike and his company MUCH MORE than just a place and guy to rent equipment from. This is NOT one of the MANY cheesy, touristy operations designed to part you from your vacation money. It's more of an uber-affordable, one-on-one, custom tailored desert or mountain experience. I've been on about a dozen or so private tours with him and I learn something new each and every time. From the name of some obscure cactus to where to find water, he always seems to know the answers. And that is what makes him the absolute best desert and mountain guide in the area. My parents live in the area and my brother got a UTV delivered to him last yr for next to nothing for the day, so I thought I would try it out.... Well, I come to find out that he rented in the hotter months, so the pricing/availability was quite different (i.e. most places were more than double the price, with limited to no availability, etc.; in addition, they were all about avoiding any liability and couldn't care less about their clients). Needless to say, my family (wife, 9 and 5 yr old daughters and myself) lucked out by finding Mike. Mike IS the SIZE that matters! As you see from the one other review (only one I came across, so felt obligated to add another), he is in fact an expert with the terrain, area, history and is passionate about showing people a good time. In addition, I felt like he was able to gauge my ability to drive very precious cargo and push me to the limits (within bounds) that made this more than just the vanilla rides you see on commercials for these same hi powered BEASTS of the desert terrain! In the end, you had a combination of: an exhilarating offroading experience, an education and appreciation of the land, an understanding of how the local habitat played back into the early economy (both local and extended) and a sense of accomplishment by doing something that was, at times scary and challenging but rewarding and fulfilling! When we return to the area, we will not do anything like this without Mike and I would suggest, if you want to get the best bang for your buck and overall experience, you do the same! This is the best place to rent ATV/UTV hands down! Mike was very helpful and went completely out of his way to provide everything we needed for our trip. We rented 7 ATVs and it was a blast!
