Went there at dinner time and they were already out of the soup of the day.... I ordered the Stella burger for $12 and it was so over cooked with a tiny piece of cheese and not even a whole slice of bacon. The burger itself was about the size of a McDonalds burger. Not impressed. The mac and cheese app had an awesome flavor however the potion was for one person only. This was the second time we have tried to go for dinner. The first time we went in and they closed the kitchen due to a beer pairing event. They never placed Sign outside indicating that they were holding this event and that the kitchen was closed. read more

The best food and atmosphere of the growing craft beer scene in Middletown. The selection of craft beers and ciders is extensive, fresh, and eclectic. Their menu is perfectly crafted as well: 5-star bar food that includes some of the best mac-and-cheese I've ever tasted, a lip-smacking kale salad, very nice seafood from clams to crab cakes, perfect hamburgers, and some lovely shortrib dishes as well. The staff and decor create a youthful yet neighborhood atmosphere: warm, friendly, and down-to-earth. We only had to go there once to claim this as our favorite local spot. read more

The maple buffalo wings are my husband's favorite. We come here just for that. They are so worth it. I've had the tacos, a steak sandwich and a salad and it's all just very fresh and good flavors. The drinks are also very good. read more

I went to this Cafe/Bar after viewing their menu on Facebook and getting recommendations from my niece / nephew. Unfortunately the only food NOW available is Bar snack, burgers , etc. The Craft Beer selection was interesting, but no better than a dozen other craft beer places and not near as extensive. I am sure that the food available was tasty and well prepared but so are a dozen other places Without the full menu I see no reason to visit this establishment. Maybe they should edit their Facebook Menu page? Disappointed. read more

So... this place. Met a friend here for lunch. Not particularly busy as it was 12:30, 1pm - A handful of people at the bar and one other table with a family. I'd asked for a taste of a beer after arriving. 10 minutes later, still no taste or even a glass of water. Then the waitress/bar tender came over with a full glass I never asked for. Thanks? After some talking with the waitress, I ask for a taste of a different beer which she brought and then at my request came back with water (finally). No water for my lunch mate, though (isn't that sort of automatic to bring everyone at the table water if they aren't only there to drink beer?). This is almost 20 minutes in and after we put our food orders in. Still... not that busy as far as I can tell. The other people at the bar aren't having a marathon drinking session, but the focus of this place is definitely the bar and not the food/other seated tables. Food finally comes out. My "Smac and Cheese" is kind of small and not super cheesy (kind of wet with some cheese water and regular macaroni noodles, not something heartier like cavatappi that can hold cheese/flavor better) with a small bit of meat scattered on top and not really worth the $12. My friend's fish and chips looked good and was more worth the price for the amount she got. We ordered a crab cake after that. Tasty, shaped like an egg vs. a cake, but a nice aioli on the side. The waitress, though nice/apologetic, was not super attentive unless we made eye contact (which we had to do a bunch). I gathered the owner was wandering around (in and out the back door, making our seating area rather cold as it's winter), so at one point I asked him to please bring us both water which he did. When we finally got the check, we were charged for a beer we didn't order ($9, so not sure if the actual beer my friend had was that price or less). Can't really recommend this place unless you only go for the beer and sit at the bar where you seem to have more undivided attention. The seating also sort of sucked - small, uncomfortable stools, metal table legs that seemed too narrow, etc. All in all a meh experience. read more

Went here on Friday to catch a few drinks with friends and we all decided to order food from the menu.. well more like appetizers. I ended up ordering the short rib poutine fries... I honestly just wanted some poutine fries and has asked the waiter if I was able to order just the fries, cheese and gravy. She said yes. Unfortunately, I was not able to get her name but she was pleasant up until I asked her why I was charged full price for something I specifically asked if I could order the way that I did. As a waiter, I would inform the customer that the restaurant does not make special orders and everything is charged the with or without ingredients. Long story short, I brought this to her attention, she gave me a bit of sass as I stood there a little aggravated and patient at the same time. She took the receipt, said she would go speak to the owner and she came back to our table and tossed the receipt back on the table and as she was walking away said " he took off three dollars". So there I was, having to pay $11 for fries that were not even that great and had a waiter who was butt hurt because I asked why I was charged $14 for fries?!?!!? I don't work there and have never been there.. so EXCUSE ME for not knowing the rules. HONESTLY, I could've had better at the diner down the way or even Mcdonalds. Definitely not EATING here ever. You can easily miss this place; small neighborhood place in a small strip mall. But it's worth the effort! Mike explained the beer selection and the staff was friendly, making you feel like a regular. Beer selection is great, something for all tastes. Food selection is small but that's good as what they have, they're good at. We had the kale wrap (sounds questionable but it was actually quite good) and the OMG which is a tasty lump crab cake. Outstanding! Too bad they were out of the yuca fries, but the fact they were sold out shows you how good hey must be. Love this place! Nice modern update to an old local dive bar. Food is phenomenal, probably the best wings I've ever had (maple bacon buffalo wings!) and a great craft beer selection. This place has recently been transformed from a barflies hangout to a bar with craft beer and cocktails and very good food. The always great is the ribeye steak sandwich. I love the Mac and cheese with short ribs, also good fish and chips. My wife often orders the various homemade tacos and the large wings. This place gets very busy on Friday and Saturday. We tend to go Sunday nights which is a much calmer night. The other thing is the menu changes seasonally. Some things always remain but new additions appear and specials are often available. Had dinner here last night and the food was excellent! Had the rib-eye sandwich and the signature crab-cake. Both were excellent. The rib-eye sandwich was tender and seasoned well on a toasted bun. The crab-cake came with a side salad of mixed greens (arugula and baby spinach?) with a homemade red wine dressing. The crab-cake was made with lump crab meat and shaped like a large egg standing upright. Spicy mayo and siracha sauce were streaked over it. Very good, crispy and lots of crab meat! My only complaint: Need to update the prices on the menus. The steak sandwich was a little more expensive than what was presented on the menu (not much more). Possibly more comfortable seating. I know it's a pub, but if people are going to enjoy the food, they need to be comfortable for a little longer. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday, nicely redesigned interior. Not a large selection of cider or wine, and out of one cider completely. As for the menu, I eat Gluten Free. Not a fad for me it's a way of life due to allergies. When I brought it to the waitresses attention that the Gluten Free Fish Tacos had breading on the fish, her comment was that only indicates the shell is GF. BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES! read more

No complaints here.... The food was amazing. Service was good. The bar was packed and still received organized service. The kids food came out way before the adult's. Definitely a new spot for me. I had pulled pork tacos. With out a doubt better than any other in Scotchtown. Old school fries are a hit. I hope this spot lasts, because it is much needed in the area. read more
