What a nice little addition to Middletown! Great food and drink menu. I had the pork ragu over sweet potato gnocchi which was really a nice treat. The bartender was also really professional and attentive. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars from me was I found the seating to be really quite uncomfortable. I feel like the bar chairs were not build for anyone with any sort of a tushy. I definitely plan on returning but I do hope one day they make the seating a little more comfy. read more

Have not been in this place since it was the Cove. Which was not a place too go for lunch. But the new place and makeover is awesome. Really good clean vibe. Had a perfect ribeye sandwich. Amazing food! I tried almost everything on the menu. The owners are extremely nice. The service was great, but the food stole the show! The mac'n cheese was better than mix'n Mac by far. The Cuban sandwich is hands down, the best in the Hudson Valley. The cheese fries were e erythromycin bit delicious, the shrimp tower was phenomenal and the red velvet desert was amazing. I've been coming here since they opened. I have never been disappointed. The food is usually spot on, the poutine is to die for. What I love most is that they have SOURS ON TAP! Hallelujah! Love the remodel and rebrand that has taken place at the former Cove. The space is beautifully done and very on trend for a craft beer bar. The ever changing selection on draft keeps us coming back (as well as the proximity to my parents house!). It definitely doesn't hurt that there is a creative and talented chef hiding in the small kitchen. Everything I've tried so far has been on point and is quite a step up from your traditional bar or pub fare. I'd like to give this joint 3.5 to 4 stars but I can't. Their signature soup, Potato, not available. A shot of Jameson, order hasn't arrived. Okay, Makers? Nope, that's out too. We had to wait 10 minutes to get our check after the bartender knew we had no more drinks or food left. The bartender, she works her butt off. Unfortunately I think the owners are trying to pinch pennies, because there was no other waitstaff on the clock. I felt bad for her, but I have to rate on service and it is lacking due to the bartender having to do everything and all seats at the bar were full; table service therefore suffers greatly. The place is small so I get why there isn't a ton of staff working, but c'mon, days before Christmas near a major shopping area? Staff up. The food was really good. I had the short rib tacos - you get four small tacos for $10. It's a great deal. If you're a hearty eater you'd need more perhaps but the app was my meal and I left full. The beer selection is quite good as well. They have (mostly) the liquors you'd expect as well as domestic bottles. No problem there. It is trying to be more than a dive bar by dressing it up with a slew of decent craft beers and a better than bar food mid-scale menu, but the service and slightly terrifying bathroom will wake you up to the reality that it is not. I recommend going, but do not have high expectations based on the other reviews. read more

Don't judge this place by the outside, it's a quaint tavern-like joint tucked away in the corner of a shopping complex. Setting was great and bartender was attentive and personable. Food was Ok. We had the caprese salad, chicken k-bobs and short rib Mac and cheese. It was all good, but left something to be desired. This place can easily be over looked if you don't pay attention. It's in a little shopping area in the corner. Well I'm glad we made that you turn when we passed it and chose to stop in. Very small, but cute. Nice atmosphere, beer selections were good and the Bartender behind the bar that served us with the beard was very friendly and helpful. On to the food! Every time we have tried to go here to eat there kitchen is closed, seems like it always closes 15 minutes before we arrive no matter what time that is on any given day. Wish they had a short like bar snacks menu or something. It's literally been over 5 times now where we go in find a seat and wait for someone to come over and tell us the kitchen just closed. read more

When traveling through the area for business I have stopped here four times for both lunch and dinner. I have always been impressed by selection of beer and spirits, skills of the bartender, skills of the chef. Bratwurst special was outstanding, Cuban sandwiches the best I've ever had. Short rib and burgers are solid. All the various french fry sides including sweet potato and Cajun are great. Can't wait to return. read more

The family was in the area to go to Legoland and needed to find a place to go for dinner. Checked the Yelp reviews and this place sounded like it'd probably be OK. The menu isn't extensive but it's not bad and everything we ate was either excellent or very good. I had the ribeye steak sandwich, which was excellent. The onion rings I got with it were very good - not soggy or greasy like they often are. My son said his burger was one of the best he's ever had. The shrimp "tower" appetizer (spicy shrimp with chopped tomatoes and avocado) was different and very good. They have a pretty large beer selection and the waitress, who was super friendly, was very knowledgeable about their beers and recommended a draft beer I had never heard of that was great. The quality to price ratio here is very high, with some entrees in the $15 to $16 range (including grilled salmon, which was good), and the tab for 3, including 2 daiquiris and a beer, came out to $93. A comparable meal in Manhattan would've probably cost about $150 and the food and service wouldn't have been as good. This was a very pleasant surprise. read more

Atmosphere was just what I needed. Definite place for regulars, but they treated me just as well as the regulars. Great beer selection, looks like a great liquor selection as well. This place is fantastic! Our family went to have dinner and drinks to celebrate birthdays, and we were all very happy with everything. The cheese fries and soft pretzel appetizers are fresh and delicious. All our meals were great; I ordered a burger and fries, figuring you can't go wrong, and I was right. It was far superior in taste and quality than most burgers you'll get in the chain restaurants in this area. My husband raved about the chicken wrap he ordered. Several of us ordered some of the craft beers on the menu and those were thumbs up as well. I think the most impressive thing was the atmosphere - it was PACKED in there the night we went, but we didn't feel squeezed in or rushed out. The owner personally waited on us at times and came over to chat in between hustling to help other patrons as well, and he was very funny and kind and welcoming.
