really disappointed by my experience; i went to Dr. Froum's office for help and: - i was charged $350 for something like a 15 minute conversation with Dr. Froum - the appointment started 30 minutes late - i was given a quote that was around double what other periodontists in the area quoted me - the guy running the office insisted these were non-negotiable but then later gave in on a quote that he never followed up with - this was the only office to charge me a consultation fee ($350 for 15 minutes) - they never sent follow ups of measurements and notes taken - i had to directly text an office manager to get notes and the notes i got were completely illegible i tried to directly contact the office for resolution but there was no response so i decided to share my experience here i've never left a review like this but i hope others see this and are warier than i was read more

I went to Dr. Scott for a bone graft, He did not do the job properly the first time but he messed it up the second time around. I trusted him. We all deserve a second chance to do better. He left me with a persistent discomfort, receding gum, exposed Tooth roots and a huge gap. And he asked me to come back within six months...literally his words were it might fill in the gap. Horrible experience from start to finish for an initial consult where I was referred for a periodontal exam by my existing dentist. I checked with my insurance company first to see if this Dr. was a "participating provider" in my plan. My insurance said "yes" and I made an appt. for an initial consult. I then spoke to Dr. Froum's office staff over phone who assured me he was "in network". I arrive at the consult yesterday and had to pay the initial consult fee ($$) up front when typically an "in-network provider" bills insurance company directly and the patient pays a small copay or the difference after the deductible. I question this policy again and front office staff and billing coordinator (Kyle?) assured me again that this is "how they bill even though they are in network". Dr. Froum saw and examined me for about 12 minutes and was abrupt and dismissive anytime I asked him a question about the recommended surgical options. Bedside manner very arrogant. I was then whisked away to billing coordinator's office who neglected to tell me that the NYC office where I had visited is NOT IN NETWORK. I also was NOT told that Dr. Froum has 2 other offices ( Middle Village, NY and Bayside NY) that are contracted with my insurance company as "in-network". I didn't find this info out until I called my insurance company after this visit an hour later to verify Dr. Froum's in-network status. Talk about confusing?! The worst part about this experience is that my insurance company called Dr. Froum's office while I was on hold on the phone to verify that I had no knowledge of these other 2 offices. The billing coordinator outright lied to my insurance company and told them that I was advised that there were 2 other offices that were in network as a participating provider in my insurance plan??!!! Bottom line: Deceit and lies to a prospective patient about cost and insurance coverage! Do not waste your time seeking this doctor's opinion. Do not trust this doctor or the services he provides if he and his staff can't be honest with a prospective patient before any initiation of treatment!! read more

I was recommended to Dr. Froum, by my usual dentist, for an oral procedure and I cannot say enough about how professional and welcoming the entire staff was. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the receptionist, Dr. Froum's assistants and Dr. Froum, himself, were cordial. Everyone I interacted with was very informative of what my procedure was and what steps I needed to take to recover. As for the procedure itself, everything went as smoothly as one could hope for. DO NOT GO THERE, PLEASE ! This is a businessman, not a DDS. He did such a horrible job with my extremely expensive work that I had to pay $15K to get fixed by a brilliant DDS who was horrified by his work. The only reason I did not sue his ass it was because my lawyer, a former prosecutor, told me it would cost me more $ and time to take this pile of dirt in front of a Judge. I am no longer a patient at this practice thank goodness. My new periodontist noticed that's not only did he leave a partial root on a tooth, but there was no evidence of the bone graft he put in. I had difficulty after this procedure and the dentist never called me back. I know things can go wrong; however there was a total lack of concern. The hygienist was lovely however. read more

The doctor was a bit of a scam artist though nice enough. But - an employee named Kyle was abusive and offensive and has no business interfacing with patients. I was appalled by his arrogance and attitude and the fact that he also tried to sell me on his podcast or whatever it is was reprehensible. He printed out a form for me from his podcast "Coding with Kyle" when I asked a question about a billing issue, but was not able to provide a comprehensive set of information about the potential procedures the doctor had said were warranted, which is egregious (and creates an unethical environment in the practice). Ultimately, the bad judgment shown by a doctor who allows this type of person to interface with patients is reason enough to not go here. I was appalled by the arrogance, lack of empathy, and lack of knowledge or even willingness to advocate or liaise some level of information for me. It was entirely abusive and inappropriate, and I hope the Kyle person (findable on "coding with Kyle") is not allowed to interface with patients any longer. read more

OCT 2021 Even though I am a new patient of Dr Froum, today I will focus mainly on my son who is also a new patient at the office. I went there after extreme rave reviews from my sister because of all the issues I have had with my teeth since I was very young. Felt at ease since the first call. I dont remember the womans name that answered the phone but she was the sweetest and very patient. Went in and met Lina, she is just an angel, and Dr Froum, very nice and seems as knowledgeable as my sister has been describing him for a while now.. Needless to say I felt so at ease that I started my journey with them, Im getting implants Jehovah willing. I felt so at ease that I requested an appointment for my son that was in pain after his very first cavity and filling. He was not left to wait and Dr Froum saw him that same day. He told me what they can do for him but said his specialist in that field would see him, Dr. Neymark. She saw him, my son felt comfortable with her. She worked on his filling, redid it and even corrected the last dentists error (took the manmade small gap away) She put less needles for numbing than the last dentist but it must have been precisely injected because my son said it numbed quicker and he felt no pain. She added some kind of desensitizer for the nerve during the refill and he felt great in the time she said he would which was rather quick. Needless to say, she became his dentist that day even if I have to travel from PA to NY for each appointment. I will be back with my full review when my procedures are done but I must say that the full staff seems like they were meant to do this...from the receptionists, assistant, Dentists and everyone I have missed, it just seems like they really like what they do and are extremely good at it. I have to mention Lina again because when she did my first dental impressions she promised me that none of my very loose teeth will fall out and she did not lie. It was a bit painful for me because on top of having so many issues with my teeth I have a very low tolerance for pain. I even had to get a second one done with Dr Neymark for more precision and again no tooth loss. These two dealt with my teeth and my nervous ways like champs. I cant leave without mentioning Kyle. After deciding to go ahead with Dr Froum, I was lead into Kyles office. He goes out of his way to accommodate you with the unexpected. After speaking finances with him (so worth it) he went out of the office, came back and lead me back to my dental seat for my first appointment on this path to implants to avoid an extra future appointment charge and a drive from PA. I hope that at the end of this implant journey I can come back here and give a great review, Jehovah willing, like everyone of the reviews I have read and heard of Dr Froum and his whole staff. read more

Horrible rude staff and disorganized office! I went in for a specialty surgery consultation 1.5 weeks ago. When the office manager was going over pricing with me, I told him that I plan to move forward with the surgery but wanted to confirm with my insurance first. He then told me that he could try to fit me in for January. There was no mentioned of the need to pay upfront nor get insurance pre-authorization. I called my insurance today and was told that the surgery will be covered. I then called back the dentist office to schedule an appointment for Mid February (almost 1.5 months away). The same office manager said I will either need to pay upfront or have to wait to get insurance preapproval BEFORE I CAN EVEN SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT FOR MID FEBRUARY, and that such pre-authorization which could take up to two months to obtain---none of these two conditions were communicated to me when I was in the office 1.5 weeks ago. If they truly needed pre-authorization that takes 2 months to obtain, they could have sent in the request 1.5 weeks ago when I went in for my initial consultation! I have had my fair share of dental surgeries throughout my life, I had never met a professional office that is this rude, disorganized and this money hungry!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! Scott is the best periodontist hands down. This man goes above and beyond. He helped me even with my crappy dental insurance. Without him I don't know where I'd turn. 2 bone grafts later, gums are looking healthy and now I'm patiently waiting to get braces soon. Did I mention he threw in a free cleaning months later. Dr Forum and his staff are consistent in their ways, his assistants are sweet, thorough and thoughtful. He himself is direct, but empathetic; extremely confident and knowledgeable, yet very easy and approachable, he explains in detail using plain language. Alongside his staff Dr. Forum is on top of the whole process. He even tries to connect with you one last time at your exit, while you're making your follow up appointment at the front desk and he communicates with his staff on your behalf. He made the effort to call in the evening to follow up with a quick check-in. It's an old school style with a modern day twist that seems to be lacking today with many professionals. I came to Dr Froum five years ago, for periodontistry, after a variety of tooth pains were diagnosed as extensive bone loss in three areas in my mouth. Before Dr Froum, several periodontists agreed, somewhat, with each other (that 'somewhat' is itself pretty scary, I must have gone to five), that treatment should be: extraction, followed by implants, followed by crowns, followed by bankruptcy (well I added the last). With Dr Froum I have been able to save my teeth, and have adult conversations about teeth and medicine, oh and not go bankrupt. I enjoy him and value him as my dentist. I have sent people close to me to him and would send more. I've learned the hard way, that a central part of dentistry is dental hygiene and home hygiene; Dr Froum's hygienists are superb. I've also needed general dentistry, fillings and cosmetic repairs; Dr Froum has been very careful about where he refers me for these. read more

This year my dentist told me that I needed periodontal work to be done to fix a gum issue but suggested an expensive periodontist that was also far away. Fortunately I found Dr. Froum after being referred by a friend and met him for a free consultation shortly thereafter. He exceeded my expectations in many ways but most of all, the result I got after surgery was wonderful. He's the best periodontist or dentist I've ever been to. I have been having oral surgeries and extensive dental work since an accident I had in 1988. Dr Froum has done two implants on me and an extraction. This has been by far my best experience with all of the work I have received over the years, I will never go to anyone else again. I have had very little to none post op pain which I can only assume is because he takes his time and cares about his work. I brought my nine year old daughter to him in an emergency situation and she was perfectly comfortable. As an oral surgeon and dental patient for over 25 years (since my childhood accident), I can say with confidence I highly recommend Dr. Froum and his practice. read more
