Consumer beware of this company and all the 5 star reviews! This is my update from 5 stars to 1 star instead for the Black Gold Insurance company. At the beginning I thought Scott Kim is very knowledgeable, he seems to know what he is doing but I found out later what he told me was not true. He found Mercury insurance for me to be the best price compared other carriers, and he asked me to sign the application he sent me without explaining more detail or disclose I will have to pay for the waiting period from the date I sign the application to the date the inspector have time to check my property. All he told me was that I have to wait about 2 weeks for the inspector go to check my property that was it and he asked me if I can give him a good rating on Yelp and on Google for his best service I said, "yes " I give him 5 star for his fast performance and of course I didn't know what will happen next as I described below. A month later, I still never get any phone call from inspector at Mercury insurance come to inspect my property but then Scott sent me an email saying that he got the price adjustment from Mercury that came up 3x higher than he previously told me after they inspected my property plus I have to pay for that 1 month waiting period on top of it. I asked him, why is that! He said Mercury made mistake. Surprisingly, a week after that the inspector from Mercury called me to inspect my property, so what's going on!!! someone is dishonest here. I then call Mercury to find out what's going on, they told me they never received my application. Really!!! read more
