Discovered Scottie's a few years ago after doing some research on places that do heart pizzas for Valentine's Day and I have been a loyal customer ever since. The garlic knots were super flavorful and garlicky without being greasy, and came out nice and warm - perfect for dipping and sharing. I was hosting an event this weekend. Called 2 days in advance to ask if they delivered or worked with DoorDash or what. The kid who answered the phone didn't have a clue so I suggested he check with someone who did. He checked with a manager and said yes, they do DoorDash. So I went ahead and placed an order there more than 24 hours in advance. 20 minutes after the food was supposed to arrive, I got a message saying they had cancelled the order. Apparently they turn Door Dash off if they get busy. OK, cool, whatever, except they had this order well before they got busy. If you aren't capable of managing working with a company like that, then don't. Whatever you do, don't screw over your customers in the process. I don't want to be dicking around in the middle of hosting an event trying to find someone who does know how to manage their business so I can feed people an hour past when I wanted to. read more

I recently made a quick trip to Portland and my literal first stop after touching down was Scottie's Pizza Parlor. That was a GREAT choice on my part as it was the warmest welcome to the city I could imagine. I showed up intending to purchase slices only to find out that this location no longer serves those. That was a great excuse for me to purchase a whole pizza, so, success. Scottie's staff were kind enough to fit me in as a walk-in when they were already going full force on pre-ordered pizzas. The cherry on top was that the amazing woman who rang me up had lived in LA for a while and chatted with me about her time there, how Scottie's pizza came to be, and recommendations for things like coffee. I really really enjoyed grabbing my food and would recommend anyone go there! I got the Suprema pizza and it was FIRE. The combination of New Mexico meets Brooklyn really worked in creating this masterpiece. The earthiness of the mushrooms really set off the savory pepperoni and the spicy green chili was so well balanced with the subtle sweetness of the sauce. The crust was chewy in the best way possible and was the perfect vehicle for all those toppings. I got the herby dip as well and that REALLY set it off. Random discovery to 5 star rating all in one afternoon. My husband and I were wandering around on a walk and decided to grab boba at Boba Milk when BAM we realized this gem of a pizza place was next door. We were supposed to be good and go home to eat leftovers but honestly once I read the menu at Scottie's, I knew we couldn't go home empty handed. We were really torn about which pizza to get and we eventually went for the burrata pizza because let's be real, who says not to burrata?! We placed an online order during our boba adventure and just grabbed it once we had our teas. This is definitely a grab and go type of place; there are two tiny benches outside that you could chow down on quickly but not a sit down and lounge/take your time kind of set up. Of course, we couldn't wait to try the pizza so we hunkered down on those benches and went at it. The pizza itself was delicious, great crust, suuuuch a healthy dollop of burrata on each slice, and the brightest red sauce ever. The whole pizza was a delight and I look forward to whatever pizza I try from here next! Note: I went to the one on NW 21st. After living in Portland for 11.5 months, I have finally found a good slice of pizza! There are places with a good (personal) pie, but none I've found with a good slice. Until I visited Scottie's Pizza Parlor. The plain slice was awesome. Sauce had a nice mix of sweetness and acidity. It wasn't boring and flavorless like too many other red sauces, it has some pop to it which I really liked. Cheese was fine. There was also the right amount of oil. It gave a nice mouthfeel but wasn't too much where it's oily and gross. Crust had a nice bit of sourdough to it. I only tasted it when I got to the crust/end though. For the normal bites it had a really great texture that reminds me of NY. It's got a bit of crisp to it, but also a lightness. It was pliable, not stiff and hard. You sort don't even notice it's there, but at the same time enjoy it's presence. Hard to explain. The Sicilian slice was also awesome. Nice texture. Some crunch, but also some lightness. Sauce and cheese were similar. I really, really enjoyed that sauteed garlic they put on top. And the greens. To nitpick, I'm not even sure it was basil -- it might have been baby spinach or something -- so the flavor was lacking a bit. But it gave it a nice color and textural contrast. Plus I don't want to spend $9 a slice to have expensive fresh basil, so I was happy. And to continue that thought, overall I was very happy. I will be coming back many times. We were enroute to the airport and decided to go to Scottie's pizza , as it has been on our "to-try" pizza list for a long time . We arrived about an hour before closing so were fortunate to get the booth inside . Started out with the Delfino, a Number 1, a white pizza with onions and sesame seeds on the crust , and pepperoni . The crust was light and airy , it held up well under the toppings which were delicious . The additions of fresh basil , ricotta, and shaved cheese amongst the various slices were outstanding . The added touch of sesame seeds on the crust of the white cheese slice was a delightful surprise . The Delfino was a square slice with a very nice crust as well and flavorful . Pepperoni slice was loaded with meat and sure to please savory meaty salty lovers . Because of the light crust we had room to sample a plain cheese and second slice of the white pizza because it was so good why not . The idea was to taste the sauce on the plain which was sweet but not seasoned to any degree , be curious how the marinara slice compared. That would be the only downfall was the sauce on the plain was similar to Pomi, however it had ricotta on it which made it creamier and richer.
