Scott's Bar & Grill in Edmonds was one of the restaurants we frequented more when I was growing up compared to recent. It was one of those places that could have a very full parking lot and a relatively less crowded interior. The tables were spaced out in such a way to accommodate more people without feeling cramped. Food was consistently good, though the wait time could be a little on the longer side at times. One time stands out as it was less busy. The next time we came in it was busier and the food did not take as long, at least one of us ordered the same thing. A life lesson I suppose in that wait times can at times not be food nor crowd specific, just day specific. read more

My girlfriend and I have been to Scott's several times and always have been pleased with the service -- maybe it was the valentine's day holiday but our visit this time didn't go as well as we'd hoped. We made a reservation for 7pm thru OpenTable and arrived a few minutes early. We checked in and were told we'd be seated shortly but ended up being seated at 7:25. Not ideal but I'll chalk it up to the holiday. Once seated we ordered drinks and asked for bread to start. We had two kids with us, both of whom ordered apple juice, but were disappointed when the drinks arrived and were extremely watered down. We asked to swap to sprite but had the same issue - both drinks were extremely watered down. The waitress changed the syrup which finally fixed it. I stuck my usual and ordered the french dip but it didn't go over so well this time. The au jus had spilled onto the base of plate and seeped into both the bread and fries, causing them to be extremely soggy. I tried to get the attention of the waitress to see if I could get a new dish but she never came to check on the food. I would've liked to give a better rating but this experience wasn't the greatest. read more

So... the website clearly states that they serve brunch until 3pm. I made a (birthday) reservation for brunch with my late rising family for 2pm and as we walked in, no acknowledgment that they had just stopped serving brunch, and it was clear our reservation wasn't needed and still didn't rate being seated anywhere that was even remotely away from the (open) kitchen and hostess stand. We arrived at the table and no one returned for 10+ min while we watched them walk by repeatedly. Once we did get our server, we asked about the brunch menu and were told that "they stop serving at 2." The server, who was friendly and helpful as much as possible, said she'd ask if they could still make us brunch, returning to say "sorry they can't, it's all been thrown out" Then while I had much time to wait for our drinks and food, I read a few reviews to see that this problem wasn't a one time issue. Our server also complained - albeit much more nicely than the other reviews mention - about management leaving her on her own to cover a huge portion of the restaurant. The lunch was... fine. Cooked well enough, the quality was alright but the whole experience was unpleasant enough that I'll never be back, even before the secret 2pm cut off for brunch. Service was fine. Ambiance is a little boring and could use some art/color but not bad. My issue was my food. Typically, you can count on a great meal but this time I was underwhelmed and disappointed. They have a Dutch Baby with lemon curd and fresh fruit on their special s menu so I went with that. What I got was a dense, flat, overcooked pancake that looks nothing like any Dutch Baby I have ever seen. I did not send it back because 1) they were busy 2) the lemon curd and fresh fruit saved it from a total disaster of a meal. They need to do it correctly or take it off the menu. read more

Last visit was back in Feb 2017, so this update is specifically for a dinner reservation focused on the Seattle Restaurant Week campaign (4/5/22). Nearly full parking lot, so that told me upon entering that they must have a popular happy hour or attracts early dinner guests. Glancing at the food/beverage menus, there are definitely many items to select from. The bar, main dining room, and enclosed outdoor dining area were mostly full. Host/reception stand: looked unenthusiastic as I mentioned our reservation Wait person: probably was happy for our uncomplicated order from the SRW menu, checked on us twice, another person provided steak knives, hastily refilled ice water, items plopped on our table. Noticed she was wearing wrist braces, so I'll cut her break since I've had carpal tunnel surgeries. Table: no salt or pepper. Not needed, but would have been nice to have freshly cracked pepper offered for the Caesar salad Beverages: Remained with copious ice water Twice though ice dropped on table, I sopped up dribbled water with cloth napkin Provided slices of house bread - ate the inner crumb. Passed on the crust. Added on pre-course for $7 each: Both of us selected Crispy Calamari served with lemon wedge and housemade dipping sauces. Should have only ordered one, not two. One was just rings, other was tentacles with the breading mostly falling off. A total pass on the dipping sauces. First course: One picked the soup of the day = cream of mushroom, the other picked the Caesar salad. Both generously sized. Passed on the croutons. Second course: Both of us picked the 10 ounce Herb Crusted Prime Rib with horseradish and au jus, served with supposed Yukon Gold mashed potatoes (picked dark peels out, perhaps russet instead?), and definitely not creamed kale but overly charred kale. Totally passed on that. Dissected out the fatty and salty bits from the not uniformly medium rare or sized proteins served. Third course: No offer of coffee service. One picked the Key Lime Pie. Curiously served with a lime wedge. The other picked the Molten Chocolate Cake served with whipped cream, berries, and berry coulis. That did not resemble molten or lava cake. Underripe strawberry slices. Decent plump blueberries. Blob of sweetened raspberry coulis. Overall, both of us tend to be part of the clean plate club. But I left behind a salad plate with hard bread crusts, hard croutons, salad greens dregs, all the charred kale, protein bits, some of the mashed potatoes, and majority of the dipping sauces and au jus. A telling sign with the desserts selected, both were not finished. Hope they compost in Edmonds. Only items taken home were the remainder of cream of mushroom soup and combined orders of calamari. The latter probably should have been left behind because cold greasy will become microwaved rubbery. Final cost with added pre-courses, tax, and tip was under $111. Left full, but it was an overall meh experience. I repeat - this review focused only on our choices from the SRW menu. read more

Scott's used to be a middle meeting place, for my friends and I, over the years, for those who lived in Seattle and for those that lived north of Seattle, since it's in Edmonds/Shorline~ish. Needless to say, I've been here, several times! Over the years, I've found that their food, isn't as good, it's all looking sloppy and mishmashy. Their appetizers, like their Crab and Artichoke Dip, is still bomb, but are better with their complimentary soft bread, than with whatever toasted crust pieces, they provided. Their Parmesan Crusted Sole, turned out kind of weird and soggy. Their Chicken Fettuccine was only worth a couple of bites and decided not to even bring the rest home. I didn't even bother with dessert (this, coming from a sweets addict!). Sadly disappointed. Wish it was better, because I remember all of their food tasting better. Despite all of that....their serving staff, are PHENOMENAL people and employees!!! A couple of them told us, how they trekked through the snow, just to get to work! Sat in the bar for happy hour. Was busy and poppin the bartender was Jacob and super knowledgeable on cocktails and suggestive when I had a question. Really fun atmosphere. Our cocktailer was Dustin and made the entire experience great! All around the whole team at Scott's was so helpful and fun! Great attitudes! Even the manager stopped by and checked in on us! 3 stars is being generous but there some good things and good people that can happen here. It's conveniently across from a Home Depot and Costco we use regularly and I've been coming here since the 80s when it was the Komen family flagship for a while before Restaurants Unlimited etc. Landry's has bought this and messed with it like our beloved Palisade but thankfully the neighborhood nature and setting here was more resilient of the stupid staffing and menu decisions Landry's made when buying out RU!! It comes down to this: Still pretty well staffed but it's a roll of the Dice if you get a competent or kind server. The X Chef stands at the pass socializing and micro managing until starting to look like a deer in the headlights ....... The entree execution is a gamble and the menu had been severely messed with to the detriment of regulars and new customers alike. I've learned that we can still count on a happy hour or other time drink and a snack, which is more than I can say about Palisade! But counting on dinner there or a group meal is not with it at all. Everything here is over salted. They charge like a top end steakhouse but are quite average at the end of the day.

My family has been going here for what feels like decades. It's been a neighborhood staple, as it was the only decent restaurant in the area. However, the quality has been terribly disappointing one too many times, this last time, we spent over $500 for my mom's birthday dinner. NEVER AGAIN. The ribeye steaks were thin and chewy, like something you'd be served at Denny's. The prime rib, meh. Finally the Broadway Pea Salad - tasteless. 5 star prices for 2 star food. We would have been way better off buying high end steaks at a butcher or Central Market and cooking everything ourselves. What a bummer!!! read more

Scotts is my "go to" restaurant whenever I have family visiting. Such was the case when family came in from Canada for Easter. I booked Easter dinner for 8 people. We were seated right away and ordered drinks and appetizers. We also ordered entrees. The drinks arrived followed by salads but no sign of appetizers. Finally the appetizers arrived which I sent away since we were already into our salads. My nephew had ordered French onion soup which showed up after my asking twice. The service was quite disjointed and my nephew was still eating his soup when his entree arrived. Every entree was cooked to perfection and the plate presentations were excellent. Great lunch today! The host welcomed me right away..I had a reservation for 2. We got seated in a nice socially distanced booth by the back window...nice table. Staff all wore masks..clean restaurant and spotless restroom. The farm salad with almonds and blue cheese dressing was so good and so was the mushroom soup served HOT just how I wanted it. The sweet ending was their signature homemade key lime pie which was so silky delicious and tasty in your mouth...wow! What a treat!! I have to remember to go back for that key lime pie!!! Laurie was our very friendly server. She was efficient and professional and made sure we were satisfied with our meals. Kudos to Laurie and also compliments to the Chef!! I come every year because of my annual Landry's club discount. Never had a significant problem here, and I always feel welcome, with a free birthday dessert. Can't go wrong with great service like this. I preferred the Claim Jumper menu when we had one in Lynnwood, but this location has enough menu selection to give 5 stars also. We sat in the lounge. Service was 5 star. Geoffrey was our bartender/waiter. He is fabulous. He was knowledgeable about the menu and timely with our drinks and food. Coconut shrimp were crispy and sweet. The dipping sauce was also sweet with a heavy mustard flavor. Overall a bit too sweet for me. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. Gooey and tasty with the right amount of bread/cheese/onion ratio. Pea salad was good. Nice flavor and not drowned in mayo. Steak bites: DELECTABLE Perfect amount of salt and sweet. We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner at Scott's! Food was outstanding and so was service! Every table was packed and we didn't have high hopes because it was so busy- but it was great. My family has been going to Scott's for decades. The food is good but over the past year or so the service has declined. When I looked around the restaurant, not one server was smiling or pleasant. The host was rude and non communicative. My salad and main course were served together while my dining partner waited for his soup. No bus service, we sat with empty plates and glasses throughout our meal and it was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention because they are all running around confused and rushed. We have given Scott's many chances because we do like the food but the service is terrible for the prices they charge. read more

We were ignored for a good while after being seated, our server quickly said sorry for the wait. After another 10 minutes she came back and took our drink & dinner orders and we asked for some bread. Another 10 minutes the drinks were delivered, the bread was never brought to our table, while the server ignored us again. Finally after another 20 minutes our dinners were delivered. I order prime rib cooked medium rare, it came out rare, but it was my birthday dinner and I decided to try it out. It was pretty bad, after the meal she asked about would I like desert? Both of my beers were served room temperature with more than an inch of foam at the top, meaning that when it settled, my beers were much less than full. The fish and chips were cold and greasy. The service was ridiculously slow. It took more than 20 minutes for a drink refill after my beer was empty, and an additional 10 minutes for my order to be taken after that. There were three servers who spoke with the bartender who each complained about how they did not want to be there that day. I tipped 20% as usual, and I hate that I did that. You people don't deserve an extra dollar of my money, let alone the insane amount that you charge for cold, greasy fish and chips and warm beer. read more

Tonight was the 1st time we dined at Scott's.  It was a special occasion, I took my wife and our good friend out to celebrate Mother's Day.   Even though we had reservations, we opted to sit in the bar.  Our waitress, Rhilynn, was amazing.  She was friendly, had great recommendations, and was very attentive to our needs.  I can not say enough good things about her.  She is by far the best waitress we have had at any establishment.  The food was exceptional, the environment was relaxing, and Rhilynn was outstanding!  We will be back. read more

The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting from the moment we walked in. Our server was fantastic and checked on us just the right amount. The Trio platter and calamari were delicious. There were four of us out for a Friday night dinner. Scott's has been around for years and going here was a local choice. We ordered appetizers and they were terrible. The crab and artichoke dip was tasteless and we did not finish it. The calamari was another disappointment. The Kobe steak dinner arrived cold to our table, the butter wouldn't even melt on top of it. The mashed potatoes were so cold it was molded into a "scoop" on the plate. The fish was hit, on the other order but the fries were soggy and cold. It is evident the kitchen staff are not working together to expedite food in a professional manner. The table service was average, but it was evident she was not getting the food to the tables fast enough. The manager came to our table and removed the steak off our bill. Two tables around us had food go back, to the kitchen as well, or they did not receive their orders. We witnessed orders under the heat lights for 15 to 20 minutes! I like Scott's and have been there many times. The ambiance, food and service is usually good. This time was the first time back there in a couple years. I was surprised by the prices! The price increase was quite noticeable. Anyway... I ordered the surf and turf and it came with no seasoning on the shrimp (3) and no seasoning on the steak. Everything was dry and bland... for $46 I expect more. My son got the cheeseburger which was dry and overdone. My wife got the the prime rib which was good and my daughter got the kids pasta which was good as well. 2 glasses of house wine 15/each! As a former server it was obvious they left the food in the window too long. They should have better quality control and not let food like that leave the kitchen. Decided to give Scott's a try because we had some gift cards to burn. Made a reservation on Open Table and our table was ready for us when we arrived. In general, our whole experience was nice. It's nothing super fancy and is in a strip mall parking lot, but the interior looked new/fresh, our service was quick and the food was good. Portions are enormous! We ordered off the specials menu and were all pleased with what we got. My daughter got a kids meal burger which came with a free ice cream sundae, which our serve was discrete about telling me about which I thought was cute. Prices were super reasonable, especially for the amount of food consumed. Also, as we were leaving from our table for the evening I am sure every staff member we walked past smiled and said something kind on our way out! I came here with a party of 10 (that's how much only my main family is). They were really accommodating their guests and taking safety measures with the coronavirus. All of the tables were spread out, and even my party was split into 3 tables. First we ordered drinks and appetizers. We ordered one of each appetizer for each table. All of it was gone! I honestly couldn't pick my favorite appetizer. It is a tie between the calamari and teriyaki on little sticks. Honestly seemed like your average bar and grill for the entrees. I wasn't a huge fan of the sea scallops. The dressing was a bit much for me. I do want to try their filet mignon when I come back because someone else ordered it and it looked tasty!
