Avery did so under the directives of the General Contractor at the time and owner of the property was not told about it. Their illegal behavior, created a total of $16,000 to fix the problem. Avery did not acknowledge this illegal behavior, but proceeded to try and collect from the owner such amount. Which added another $20,000 in a lawsuit. So a foundation estimated at $42,000 ended costing $78,365 due to negligence, plus extra mistakes. The cut out for the garage door was missing, that was another $365. Because the lawsuit lasted 4 years and 4 months, he was saved by the bell by 4 months. You only have 4 years to report it to the CSLB. Therefore a complaint could not be made. Save yourself money and headaches. Do not use this contractor.

My roof is under warranty so when I contacted McLeran Roofing for help, they responded immediately and sent Martin out who had to fight the rain and Larspur flooding and 101 shutdown to get to my home on my only day off. He was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and flooded roads for 6 hours and Martin wouldn't give up ( normally the drive would be 20 mins). Thankfully, he arrived safely and inspected everything and pinpointed the siding and other likely causes of the leak. The roof was not the cause of the leak. He even inspected and cleared some rain gutters giving me some helpful suggestions. The roof was replaced by the previous owner but after this positive experience, I would highly recommend their services and will recommend them to my friends and family. For at least 2 years I delayed finishing the hardscaping around our house (pavers and retaining…read morewalls). I decided not to ask back the original company who started the work -- a lot of their work was already failing, including a retaining wall that wasn't built with the most appropriate materials and started to sag within 2 years. I was tired of the inconvenience and also couldn't utilize at least half of the space around thehouse. I contacted Pathway Pavers and the owner, Marcos, responded within a day and started work within a week. He understands drainage and retaining walls, has knowledge of appropriate building materials and seems to have a great relationship with his team (who were also smart, diligent and hard working individuals). You'll ask about the cost -- it was not inexpensive. For ongoing renovation and construction projects, I have paid for 'the lesser of the bids'. Sometimes it turns out fine, but when something goes wrong, you immediately know your mistake if you simply accepted the lowest bid. With Pathway Pavers, I was in constant contact with Marcos. When the project ended, I had a few details that needed to be fixed (pooling paver area, loose pavers, etc.) and Marcos sent a team member back to address the issues. I appreciated that he wasn't an alarmist and could suggest different plans if cost, timing or aesthetics were an issue. If you are uncertain about what you want, open a dialogue with him and you will likely receive very useful advice. (Incidentally they do fences as well -- I also opted to have a fence built and it seems like it will last and looks as we had planned.) I finally have a useable outdoor area (no mud!!) and a great contractor to turn to.
