Pacific Hardscapes worked in a family member's neighborhood and we were impressed enough to write down the name of the company after seeing the truck and the subsequent completion of the project. We are forever grateful we spotted them over a two-day project and were able to inspect their work and hire them for a pool deck and pathway. TY and his crew were amazing throughout a challenging process to remove a more than 40-year-old concrete pool deck, while coordinating the installation with another contractor resurfacing and partially remodeling an equally old pool. Unfortunately, the pool contractor caused a logistical delay that cost Ty and his crew a few days delay, but we were fortunate that Pacfic returned to complete our project regardless of that hiccup. In fact, Ty was there in more ways than one in assisting the elderly grandmother/homeowner. This project was long overdue and the first chosen paver company -- prior to seeing Pacific Hardscape in the neighborhood -- that was the low bid for the project tried to change and add on additional costs on her already tight budget. Fortunately, Ty was able to fit our project into his busy schedule and had a honest and straight forward approach to both estimating and handing the design. Pacific Hardscapes repaired and replaced our backyard brick patio. As part of the work, they repaired several gate door posts, put in new drain lines, and conduits for our outdoor lighting. PH also put a new brick pathway by the side of our home. As a courtesy--without extra charge, PH replaced the brick insets along our sidewalk, and repaired several of the pavers in our driveway. A lot of work. Still, the quality of the work was first-rate, and the work crew was consistently helpful, friendly and courteous. Our large outdoor patio area was replaced exactly to our specifications. The work was completed in a timely manner and the crew made extra efforts to clean up after themselves. Finally, if we noticed any small imperfections in the work, the crew immediately repaired the minor defects. Really, these were small issues. What was more impressive was their willingness to ensure that everything about this extensive landscaping work was exactly what we wanted. This is a high quality, professional outfit. Due to sewer work we needed to repave our driveway. But didn't want to just pour new concrete. So we decided on pavers. And then realized that it would need to include redoing our front stairs. We started the search and got proposals from four firms. Pacific Hardscapes is a Marin-based, specialty business and it made all the difference -- many of these paving companies (like Systems Pavers) are big, have many layers and are a sleek sales-driven machine (the sales process was very painful -- and expensive!). Ty (the owner -- not a sales person) came to give us our bid. After extensive research, Pacific Hardscapes was by far the best option -- not just because of their honest, detailed and transparent pricing, but based on Ty's thoughtful approach to the project (other companies were just going to put pavers over our existing stairs -- Ty said they would rebuild them!). Ty is the man! Honestly, we could not say enough about Ty Collins and his crew, for they just hit it out of the park!!Like many homes, ours lacked curb appeal. Not only was our landscape full of dried ivy and dead bushes, but our home's fascade was boring and dated. But what actually motivated us to start our project was our narrow driveway. We were only able to park one car, leaving the other on the crowded narrow street. We realized that we should not only widen our driveway, but address the other issues listed altogether. We are so glad to have chosen Ty and his team to do our beautiful new paver driveway. Ty is friendly, patient and very easy to work with.
