The place is spotless and the menu fun and interesting. I had the open face cheeseburger with chili cheese and onions on top (although I had them hold the Texas toast but that's a me problem). Delicious crispy wedge cut fries (which can sometimes be a little mushy or soggy but not here - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside). The only problem was that I wasn't hungry enough to eat two or three meals: the other two people at the counter each had different specialty hamburgers that looked phenomenal. When I am driving down 70 again I will take the 5 minutes off the beaten path to stop here! read more

This exceeded my expectations, by quite a bit. If I lived nearby, I would frequent this place. Not because it has an intricate menu calling for obscure ingredients, but because it makes simple diner food well. For me, that means well seasoned, good texture, well cooked, not overly greasy, buttery, or salty, and enjoyable to eat. The omelets were delicious. Our lunch spot after a tour of the campus of the beautiful Muskingum University. The diner was busy but our wait was only 20 minutes. There was only one waitress working and she was impressive. She made you feel welcome, took care of everything we needed and smiled the whole time. The food was excellent. We had the pork tenderloin dinner and hamburger. The coating on the pork was so delicious and the mashed potatoes were a real treat. We also had a side of the diner mac and cheese which was solid. The hamburger was solid and the wedge fries were the biggest wedges that we've seen. They had orange creamsicle cake for dessert, it was tasty but a little dry. The only concern was the price. Found this diner on Yelp while passing through Ohio Easy on easy off I70 Exit 169. The restaurant was impeccably clean. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We stayed at Salt Fork Lodge for a long weekend and wanted to try a local restaurant for breakfast. We ran across Scott's Diner on yelp. We drove the 20-ish miles. We are so glad we did too! I had a Western omelet with rye toast and home fried potatoes. My omelet was filled with peppers, onions, ham and cheese. It was huge. The potatoes were fried perfectly, crispy edges without being greasy. The potatoes were delicious. My husband had a carnivore omelet, with white toast with home fried potatoes and added sausage gravy to the top. We both had coffee. The coffee was strong without even a hint of bitterness and they kept it coming. There were so many options on the menu we decided we wi return the next day to try something else. The service was excellent, they were so friendly and checked up on us frequently. My husband remarked that this was the best breakfast restaurant we had been to in a long time. They certainly lived up to the yelp reviews we read. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

Traveling back from salt fork state park and trying to avoid chain restaurant - this place was one of the only "small town" restaurants around. I have weird dietary restrictions and I found something I could eat. We both had the same heavenly looks on our faces after the first bite, this food is really, really incredible. I love an hour away in Columbus, but I'll be traveling here for brunch again. EXCELLENT FOOD, and staff, and atmosphere really. It looks old but opened in 2016. 100% worth a visit, and... This place offers a freakishly high level of food quality and service. Just walking in the front door sometimes my wife just starts bawling from the wonder and glory of it all. Portions are generous and the service is as good as it gets anywhere.The only thing I had here that wasn't a perfect 10 was the chocolate cake, which I rated a 9.8 out of 10 because it was just TOO good. Wow is all I can say about this tiny diner! Staff is super friendly, obviously lots of locals come here because the staff knew everyone that walked in. I ordered the corned beef hash and aside from making it myself, this place actually cut up the meat. This was NOT the corned beef mud you normally get! Simply awesome. Breakfast all day. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich with potato wedges. The pork was literally twice the size of the bun. They have a house dressing that they bottle. Amazing. My wife had a hot Italian sausage sandwich.....she loved it. Strawberry Creme pie for dessert. It was the first one they had made. It was probably the best strawberry pie I've had. WOW! THIS RESTAURANT IS INCREDIBLE! I am slightly picky when it comes to restaurants and food in general so it takes a lot for me to be impressed, but this little diner is awesome. I had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and wheat toast with sausage gravy. The hashbrowns are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. So so good... and the sausage gravy is delicious. Even my wheat toast was thicker than average bread and just a cut above.The service is very good as well. If you haven't tried this little diner, I would highly recommend it. Great coffee too. Friendly and efficient service. All in all a really good place to eat! You might even want to try their house dressing; very versatile and tasty--they sell it in bottles, too, so we took one home.
