We were ripped off big time. Taking our truck in for repair of the transmission to asses what needed to be done. We were charged $800.00 and told the transmission was fine. The majority of the cost was for a diagnostic, which we told them it was only the transmission we wanted checked. When we got the truck home, bults were missing from the shifter plate on the transmission. They took it off but didn't put back on leaving the shifter rattling around. We were told the transmission was fine. We took it to another shop where we discovered the transmission was shot. When we approached to owner we were dismissed and no consideration as a customer at all. No working with us at all. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could! I spent $6,000 at this shop to get my radiator fixed in October/November, yes, it took that long, of 2024. After weeks of my car being there, numerous things getting fixed, I got it back. Only to have it break down AGAIN, in the snow, in the middle of a very dangerous intersection a week later. It broke down for the very same reason Scott's Automotive "fixed". Coolant pouring out from under my car into the snow. More weeks went by. Finally, "fixed". Today, I go get my oil changed and the technician is pointing out two very wrong things happening, both of which were "fixed" at Scott's automotive. They were not fixed! In fact, coincidentally, the customer in the service bay next to me overheard my frustration and spoke up. Knows Scott personally, and for a long time. Scott, you should be so happy that you are not open today. I'll see you Wednesday. And if you and your team are incapable of properly fixing my car and making it safe for me to drive after I spent $6,000, well, you are going to pay the bill to have a repair shop that can fix it right do the work. Maybe I bring it to that former business partner of yours...you know, the one you screwed and are screwing over. Scott, you have kids, would you hand over my car to them to drive and be safe in like you did to me???? Especially after paying $6,000!!!!! I hear that you care about money, not the quality of the vehicle you are returning to your customers to keep them safe. If anyone knows cars, these pictures might mean something to you. I took these today, as I was delicately being told the truth about all of Scott's lies and shitty repairs. This is the vehicle Scott gave back to me, telling me all is fixed, the second time, to keep me safe! Breaks???? What breaks???? What transmission fluid??? You need to be ashamed and I am already seeking for StateFarm to drop your lying shop from their approved auto shop list. Talk to you soon! It was quick and easy to schedule an appointment and get an estimate, and everyone was very friendly and helpful! The price was reasonable, and it's wonderful to have my car heater and air conditioning fan working again, so that I have heat and air conditioning in my car! Most unprofessional and unethical business I have ever used Scotts Auto had my car 3 months in and back multiple times returned my car unfixed 3 times. Charged me for parts and labor that did nit fix the problem. Then over quoted me $1500 compared to other shops to fix actual problem. End of the day I paid $1400 to fix my car and they returned it with parts that did not need to be replaced and my car still has the same problem as when I brought it in. Went in to get my a/c charged which was 300, to just diagnose my car was two hundred and than they charged 110 to put a dye in my lines to see where the leaks are coming from. So in total it came out to 700 but they couldn't put 7 pounds of air in my tire....... The people are super nice and i understand they have a business to run but it's the little things like a low tire that goes a long way with me. Sooo when money becomes the driving force for a company and you forget about the little things you than become one of them. I know it seems crazy i would create time to write about a low tire but these are the times that small businesses need to step up and not be like the big guys....... Money hungry. I honestly feel like my car is still running like poo and I'm out 700 dollars. I can't even enjoy the A/C because they never looked into what it would cost to fix it because i would have to pay another 194 just for them to tell what we already know which is the dual climate control gate isn't opening. So what I'm getting at is instead of just saying this odds what's going on and this is what parts and Labor cost are they want to throw an additional 200 on the bill. I find that to be a corporate way of thinking and not a let's make sure you have heat for the winter without breaking your wallet. Also with the diagnostic they came up with $8000 of other things that to me didn't matter because it was more important for me to know what the clicking and ticking sound was in the engine again it just shows where their mindset is.. read more

Our car died late December and we had it towed to Scott's on my dad's recommendation. My dad loves Scott's and I can see why; they have top-notch customer service and had our diagnostic report ready for us quickly and were flexible about when we'd be able to pay. We ultimately didn't get our car fixed at Scott's because they only use new parts and we just couldn't afford their quote but we're very happy with the service we received. read more

Where do I begin $1000 later. Had used them before, so why not use them again,. Since it was overheating, I took their advice and had it towed. Couldn't find anything, but would do a full test on it, for $225. I okayed it. Call back the next day, at least $600. Told them we couldn't afford that. Said he'd let us try and get the $ together. We talked about and decided to replace the car. Told Brian that at Scott's. Then he said come get or they would charge us storage. And we couldn't get until we paid their fee, of $532.00. For a still (supposedly) non drivable car. We didn't have the money until Wednesday. So we had the car towed again home, believing it didn't run. Turns out they LIED, yes it was getting hot, but a simple flush solved that problem. Drove to Ft. Collins for a trade in, no problem. The hood was even warm. Basically we were scammed out if $532 from Scott's and $250 for tows that we didn't even need. So be careful and don't believe anything they say. read more

I brought my 2010 jeep grand Cherokee to get a full diagnosis/ inspection and they promised to tell me what was wrong with it and after keeping it ALL day long they charged me $200.00 just to tell me they don't know what needs to be done to my car to fix my problem! They told me to bring it back when my car starts acting up again. I feel like I got scammed big time!! Such a big disappointment!! Now I'm back to square one and out the $200 as well!! The air conditioner in my Hyundai Tuscon stopped blowing cold air, and the dealership quoted me $2,290 to replace the A/C suction line and fix the compressor. We came to Scott's for a second opinion, and they flushed and recharged the A/C, which solved the problem. It only costed $175, and it was finished the same day. The customer service (we specifically worked with Harper) was excellent. We are so relieved and grateful, will absolutely be back for any future needs! read more

I took my '06 Ranger 4x4 to Scotts because it started making a squeaking noise in the driveshaft area when it was cold and for a clunking noise when the 4wd was in high. There was a fee of $100 to look the vehicle over (which I initially thought was fair due to some people getting a shop to diagnose a problem, only to take it and fix it themselves). Little did I realize what I'd get for the $100. The next day I get a call from Harper Smith saying my "Report" was ready. I thought that was a bit odd, but I log into a website via a provided link and see that Jon Bravo performed an inspection of my vehicle, way beyond what I came to the shop for. The report stated my truck had 17 items where "service was suggested" and 9 items that had "service required", but good news! 47 items didn't have any issues! Of the suggested items, some were benign things like fluid service, but there were other items like an Air Intake Decarbonization, replacing the Spark plugs and wires and the front and rear shocks due to leaking. He said my serpentine belt was worn that I just replaced in the fall. I need a new fuel filter and he also want to sell me tires. On the required service list he had my upper, third brake light and one of the license plate bulbs out, said my oil was due (it wasn't), I need an air filter (also replaced last fall), he said my thermostat housing has a coolant leak (nope) and that a have a tie rod worn. Mr Bravo also said I need to replace my front driveshaft due to its age. I also have a bent wheel and a broken lug nut which I still cannot find. They did find the source of the sqeaking noise $427 to replace the dust seal at the rear differential. He never was able to diagnose the 4wd concern, however. I paid for the new seal and got the heck out of there. I took my truck to Expert 4X4 in Loveland where they quickly found that the chain in the transfer case had stretched and was slipping in 4 High. I asked about the other drivetrain/suspension issues Scotts had pointed out and they said they didn't see any problems. Scott's should be ashamed to issue a report like this. Their business is the exact reason people don't trust repair shops. I see great reviews here, so I just don't understand what happened with my experience. I am an Aircraft mechanic by trade so I do know how to turn a wrench and I was very skeptical to say the least. When I was told I needed to replace the belt and filter I had just replaced, I knew I was being hustled. I wonder just how many people would have handed over thousands of dollars to have all those items "fixed" by Scotts. I have been a customer of Scott's Loveland Auto for 4-5 years, and have relied upon them for occasional repairs for a couple of older (2007 and 2008) vehicles I own. I have spent MANY thousands of dollars at Scott's trying to fix problems that have cropped up on these cars. While I have great things to say about their customer service, especially the terrific customer service representatives Chrissy and Harper, and about the hard-working technicians, the beautiful shop facility, and the availability of loaner cars (a HUGE perc), I do feel the need to express a couple of concerns that have me questioning whether I will use Scott's again. Scott's is not cheap. Far from it, and I've been repeatedly shocked by the very high estimates I am given. It seems wrong to me that Scott's automatically does a full examination of a customer's vehicle, to identify all problems/possible mecanical problems and they typically prepare a clear and detailed report with photos and recommendations, even when one brings a vehicle in simply to fix a very specific problem. I wouldn't mind if Scott's did a complete examination for free, or offered it as as an extra diagnostic service that the customer can request. BTW, I do realize that a whole car exam takes time and expertise. It also seems like it's a great way for Scott's to get more business/income by looking for and finding problems. I've also taken in my car to have something fixed, and even though to my frustration they could not figure out the cause, I ended up paying close to 2K to repair other things they found (that I grugingly agreed to have them fix). So I ended up 2K poorer and with the same problem - a recurring loud buzzing sound behind the dashboard. Finally, I have to mention one other thing - I needed my old car's foggy headlights restored, and Scott's said they's do it for $150 or $160. A simple Google search confirmed what I thought - anyone can fix the problem quickly by hand polishing the headlight lenses with a rubbing compound and a foam or microfiber cloth; this easily restores their clarity. It costs very little to buy a bottle of rubbing compound and do it yourself. So my question is - why doesn't Scott's staff, who know about the easy DIY fix, tell customers about it and give them the choice to save a little money? I'm sure that it takes a technician much less than an hour to polish two headlights, and it seems they charge two man hours to do the work. Being open and showing customers that you are not trying to exploit them would have a HUGE impact on people's trust in your company. Scott's charges top dollar, and generally does good work, but I feel very exploited (and have felt that way before) by the things I described above. read more

My car needed a 60,000 mile tuneup and tire replacements. Excellent attitude toward your customers. Fair pricing and timely repairs performed. What impressed me the most was receiving an in-depth report on items the passed inspection fine, items that potentially needed attention, and inspected items that were actually needed. This included pictures. Also the final report showed everything that was actually replaced versus not. No questions about any of the work performed. My car runs perfectly. I have a 5 star review the first time we used them, and have had two other encounters that have well exceeded a 5-star rating. The 2nd time we used Scott's to inspect a used vehicle we wanted to purchase. It was a great deal so time was of the essence. I called around to several shops for pricing and turn around and Scott's was by far the cheapest and quickest turn around which I was so happy about because I really wanted to use them again. They were also one of the only shops that completed a test drive as part of their used car inspection. Once again they were so awesome and gave us a detailed report of everything good and bad with the car, including a rating system that allowed us to prioritize which services to complete first. I just love the report that they give you! It even has pictures of the problem so you can see for yourself what the issue is. So again super impressed and definitely making them our preferred mechanic shop. However what happened yesterday makes me want to yell from the rooftops just how wonderful they are. Yesterday could have been a disaster, but Brandon at Scott's saved me, literally. I'm 8 months pregnant with a 2.5 year old. My husband was out of town and I have injured my pelvic bone requiring me to drive to Boulder where my ONGYN is (we just moved here pretty recently and love her so didn't want to switch). It was a pain (literally) trying to scrape all the snow off the car and loading up my 2 year old to drive didnt in Boulder. It had showed a good 6 inches over the last few days, and while scraping ice off the windshield (which I could barely reach because of my short statue and huge belly) the drivers side wiper blade just snapped off! There was no way I could drive on the highway without blades because of the snow kick-up and at this point I was in so much pain, was freezing cold, my toddler was crying, and I was running late to my appointment. I called hubs and he told me to go to auto zone and they would install the blades for me, but my instinct was to call Scott's, and I'm so glad i did! Brandon answered and told me to come on down. When I got there he came right out with the blade, installed it immediately and sent me on my way! No charge!! I wish I could tell him how huge that was for me! Thank you so much justvdiesnt cut it. I made my appointment on time and without any more incidents thanks to him! When you find a good, fair mechanic, it's like winning the lottery. These guys have also restored my faith in humanity. Scott's treat their customers the way they would like to be treated. After traveling 8 hours for a short visit to Loveland, we noticed our truck was making a noise only to get worse the next day (Sunday). We decided it was probably the brakes. Being from out of town we had to search for a trusted repair shop and one that could make the repair in a short amount of time. We discovered Scott's through a search and made it onto our short list of shops to call. We chose Scott's for a couple of reasons. First they had a very high rating and second, they understood our circumstances that we were from out of town and only had a couple of days. They took us in early Monday morning. Much to our surprise they gave us a ride back to the hotel. Unbeknown to us, this is a service they offer and learned Scott's even offers a rental car if one is available. Austin was very friendly, understood our circumstance and his number one goal was to get us back on the road for home and to make sure it was a safe ride. As it turned out it was brakes, calipers and a few more items. Our repair was complete when promised, even working overtime to make sure we could get back on the road in the morning. Yes, they picked us up from the hotel back to the shop. We had a great experience with Scott's and now we understand why Scott's has a very high rating. We will use Scott's again (if necessary) when we are in town again. read more

Had power steering noise that I brought the car in for. Charged 150 bucks to tell me the rack and opinion and power steering pump where leaking. Most places drop diagnostic charges, especially for leaks, if you get repairs. They don't. Told me it was about $2500 to repair. Asked them if there where any other issues and they said that the front brake calipers where leaking. That should have been the red flag that I should go elsewhere. I told them I hadn't noticed any issues with the brakes and believe me if you had a brake fluid leak, the brake pedal would fo to the floor and the vehicle would be hard to stop. They said to do the calipers would be an extra $800. I told them just to do the power steering issue. After 4 days, they finally said the car was done. No explanation on why it took 2 days longer then they said it would. Went to pick it up and didn't even get out of the lot. The steering was noisier then it was when it brought it in. Told them about it and they said they would look at it. After 4 hours they said there was an oring on the power steering line that didn't seal. Obviously the car never got drove after the repairs because that would have been heard. Said the car was ready to be picked up. Went to pick it up and again, didn't get out of the lot. Now I had a check engine light on, that wasn't before, and the cruise light was flashing. They looked at it again and after about 20 minutes said it was fixed. I was told they where not sure why the lights came on because the codes and the fix "where not on the area we repaired." The power steering was still a little noisy but they said it would take about 150 miles for the noise to go away. When it got home I looked at my bill and there was a $200 charge for a power steering flush that I never approved or was told about. Called them and spoke to the manager that told me, the flush forces fluid thru the system. Not saying that is wrong but I never approved it. Then I stated that the power steering pump also forces fluid thru the system hence why it is a pump. After arguing with the manager, they did refund the money for the flush. After a wee, I still had power steering noise so I brought it back. They said the new pump was bad and after replacing the pump 3 more times and taking a week to do so, the car was finally fixed. I asked them about the calipers and they said that they cleaned the off and found they where not leaking after all. So there was almost an extra $1000 they they tried to rip me off for. They also tried to blame the bad pumps on covid. The mechanic there don't seem to care and either does the service writer or manager. They would not admit fault and blame something else or make it seem like some how it was something I did. Very shady place read more
