Very thankful for Community Auto!! I walked in tonight about 20 minutes before closing, as (naturally) when I was loading my car for the airport, the latch on my trunk suddenly stopped working. Community was the only auto shop open at this hour so I took my chances walking in. They had me pull into the shop and two of the guys worked on the trunk, playing with the latch until it worked, and then testing it a bunch of times to make sure it stuck. I was very stressed out and their quick and knowledgeable service was SO appreciated!! I asked what I owed them and was told nothing - tried to give a $20 and was told happy holidays. I have used Community Auto for the last 6 years and until the last year or so I have been very happy with them. Their pricing has significantly increased as has the time it takes to schedule an appointment with them. I have sent numerous friends/family to them over the years, but based on recent pricing, which appears to be significantly inflated and not in keeping with standard pricing, I will not longer be utilizing their services. read more

I've been to this place a handful of times over the last couple years. At first I thought it was great, until I started working on my vehicles myself while taking them in for more complex issues. The shop people are always kind and looking to help, at least it appears so. However, upon simple tasks, major mistakes were made. After changing the lower control arms on my car, I brought it in for an alignment only to find the CV boot ripped next time I was underneath. The owner fussed, but he fixed it (its a 60$ part, not about the money, but the principal). Shortly after I began to notice a bumpiness, a wobble, in the drivers side. I took it in 3 separate times asking them to inspect it as I didn't have time. They claimed on every occasion the vehicle was inspected and was safe to drive. MONTHS later I ordered the parts to complete my suspension and lift the vehicle, and while I'm underneath I go to personally torque the components and the caster bolt in the driver side lower control arm is not only loose, but is cross threaded and stripped out. The shop had knowingly let me drive on a damaged caster bolt and knowingly stripped the bolt, and knowingly did not make it right. There is absolutely no excuse for this when the vehicle has been taken in 3 times and you claim to have inspected it! In the SAME span I had the shop drain and fill my coolant. Very simple. Charged me a hundred and then some! I open the hood a week later and the coolant reservoir is empty, not a single drop of coolant. There has been a handful of questionable things at Community Auto as well. Having my wife's AC fixed and DAYS after getting the vehicle back the blower motor goes out. Brought my wife's vehicle in after a low oil pressure light came on. They claim they fixed it and inspected it and it was good to go! Two days later the vehicle is on the side of the road with a cylinder misfire. Just too many coincidences if you ask me! The shop owner not only refused to speak to me on the phone during the time of handling these situations, he refused to come out in the shop and talk to me when I came to pick up the vehicle (and take it somewhere reliable for work). He did pay me 150$ back after being threatened to be taken to court, in which he had a new employee handle, so like I said, the staff are cool people, but the work is lackluster. read more

Just spent close to 500$ for them to fix absolutely nothing in my car. Instead Of just telling me what will fix the problem they bundle it with thousands of dollars worth of other stuff. Dont recommend. read more

Community Auto is really great. They're genuine, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service, Miranda is awesome. I've been there for routine oil changes and also to install a part. You get a cool online report texted to you after a service with an inspection including photos and notes about your vehicle, and recommendations. I recommend them. read more

I was very disappointed last time I visited. I've been coming for a many years, but I'm done. I've sent family members here and recommended to friends. But not any more. I was charged almost $200 to tell me that a groaning sound was a front passenger wheel bearing. I had come in thinking the sound was in the rear wheel. The large charge was just for diagnosis, not a fix. I asked about how that was done, and the person at the counter said they drove it around, turned this way and that, listened. I asked why the charge was so high, like was specialized equipment needed, or? Was told it was the amount of time it took 2 guys to drive and listen. But not to worry- they would take the diagnostic charge off the cost of the replacement. $900! I searched the web and could find NOT ONE estimate with even the high range as high as that. I felt scammed, especially after learning more about wheel bearings. Went to a competitor, a guy who runs the desk, the phones, and turns the wrench himself. Diagnosis was free. Turned out it was NOT the front wheel bearing, but rather the rear. Charge was less than $500. Total. So Community Auto had it wrong and I'm out the money they charged for an expensive INCORRECT diagnosis. Hard to believe that they couldn't diagnose where the sound was coming from after a labor cost like that. I found out later that wheel bearing sounds are not too tricky- the main tell is to throw the car on the lift, manually spin and wiggle the wheels. No special equipment needed. One technician. I'm not sure why Community Auto didn't do that. I'm glad I did my homework. Sorry to say I no longer recommend them. read more

These guys are honest, trust worthy and stand behind their work. I had Community Auto install a new AC compressor into our vehicle before a long road trip out to the desert in California and unfortunately the compressor was defective and a few days into our desert trip all of the coolant leaked out and caused the AC to stop working. With temps around 100 degrees the trip back through Arizona with kids had the potential to be disastrous. I took it into a local repair shop and reached out to Community about warranty. They offered to put the $800 I spent with them towards my repair out in California. I couldn't have asked for better customer service. I will definitely refer these guys to everyone. As a person who has worked within the automotive industry's marketing and technology field for over 15 years, I undoubtedly had several options to choose from for addressing the laundry list of strange electrical and mechanical issues that seemed to be coming out of nowhere my vehicle had suddenly begun experiencing. I chose to contact the crew at Community Auto after multiple positive past dealings with them for routine maintenance on my this and my other vehicles, and I'm so glad I did! What could have and sadly what WOULD HAVE turned into a $3000+ service bill at some of the other shops in the area due to my naivety of the level of repair required and it ultimately resulting in being taken advantage of because of it, ended-up only costing me just a tad over $1200 at Community Auto all because of the high-level of honesty, integirty and professionalism the ownership and staff at this shop consistently prides itself on taking with each and every single one of their customers. Was looking at purchasing a used car from Cactus Hill in Fort Collins and I live in Longmont. Community Auto is the nearest Colorado Select Auto Care mechanic near by so I had them do a thorough inspection to avoid purchasing a bad car. After paying $160 to do a very thorough inspection, Roger at Community Auto told me that they were unsure about the transmission. I asked if he could help us figure out if it was good or not. He said he would have his transmission specialist look at it, but it would cost extra. I figured another $200 to avoid buying a car that would need the transmission rebuilt. The transmission guy did a reflash. When we went to pick up the car from Roger, we asked is the transmission good? Roger told me his transmission specialist said, "This is a good transmission" but it would need a while to relearn how to shift. I bought the car for $6,000 and a month later it still is shifting very hard from 2nd to 3rd gear. Took the car to another mechanic, who does transmission work, and was told the transmission needs to be rebuilt, and the computer for the transmission is defective, which apparently is common in this car's year and model, and has to be replaced. Estimate is about $6,000. This is exactly why you have a trusted mechanic inspect a used car before you purchase it. Apparently Community Auto is NOT to be trusted. read more

We were going from Denver to Utah and my transmission started to overheat close to their exit off of I-25. Another shop's estimate was over $750 for a tie rod replacement b/c they had to replace it and the whole shaft with it. Community's estimate? $225. They did not have to replace the whole thing. Was in town on a business trip when my vehicle decided it needed a new radiator. The fix was a little costly, but when it comes to vehicle repair, what isn't? Anyway, upon arriving at Community Auto I was impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. The appearance lead me to believe the owner not only cares about his business, but his customers as well. I just love Community Auto! I live in Colorado Springs and continue to bring my car to them when I need work. I have had other shops/dealers, in Fort Collins and Co. Springs, tell me I needed various work - usually very expensive, but when I have Community Auto verify most often they do not find the expensive work suggested. I trust that when they tell me I need something done, it is needed. I trust that they do the work they say they do. And I trust that I am paying a fair price for the work. I brought my car here after getting an estimate for work at another reputable shop in town. The estimate was high enough that I felt I needed to get a second opinion and needed to consider whether I should just get a new car instead of repairing this one. Community Auto fixed my car that same day for a quarter of what I was quoted at the other shop. Apparently my car didn't need as many things fixed as the other shop planned on fixing. I don't know anything about cars, so I'm glad I didn't just take their word for it. My car is old, so of course, I'd like to do the minimum necessary to keep it on the road, and Community Auto was on board with that. I appreciate that Community Auto did not take advantage of my lack of car mechanics knowledge, just to make a quick buck. Next time I need a repair, I'll definitely come back here! read more

Paid $150.00 for diagnosis and $1500. for repairs ( catalytic converters) based on that diagnosis. Next day the problem was back. Took it back in and Dave said if he cut me a deal they could fix it (Knock sensors ) for $1700. Dave accepted no accountability for his techs mistakes. Just a smiling face parting people to death because they don't have the expertise to diagnose correctly. Steer clear. read more

I don't have enough adjectives for this place. Great, wonderful, friendly, fast, professional, thorough.... I had a problem with my car come up on a Sunday night, I called in Monday, and even though they were VERY busy, they got me in, gave me an estimate, fixed my car the next day, and had me on the road for my trip on Wednesday!
