I had to arrange for car repair service for our daughter's car. The dealer told her it was time for new brakes. If I was local, I would change the brake pads myself. But since we I've in another state, I needed to find a reputable shop that would not take advantage of the situation. Enter Campus Repair! They are awesome and took special care of our daughter's car. In fact, upon inspection the car was not ready for brakes yet! Their mechanic did a full inspection and gave us a clean bill of health. Best $50 I ever spent! I appreciate an honest car service firm, and Campus is as honest as they come. They could have easily told me it was time for brakes, rotors, etc... but they didn't. I went to Campus Repair to get a diagnosis and estimate on an issue with my muffler and exhaust. My initial impressions were positive. The staff member who set up my appointment was efficient and forward with what their shop could do for me. I brought my car in a few days later, and the person who received me at the front desk (I assume was the same person who took my call) was short, frustrated with my questions, and ultimately made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I've been to many auto shops where people are taken advantage of due to lack of knowledge, and I got the sense this shop was attempting to do that. I ended up getting a diagnosis on my car and leaving. I won't be coming back. read more

When my daughter started having trouble with her car, I knew that I needed to find a trustworthy mechanic immediately. As I live in another state, I had my reservations about just how trustworthy a mechanic could really be these days. After getting an online quote, we chose Campus Repair. They were prompt and courteous. My daughter contacted them and scheduled an appointment. She was told that her car could be done the same day of the appointment. She dropped her car off in the morning, and they went over everything they were going to do with her car, making sure that she understood. As I was the one paying for the work to be done, I was contacted as soon as they knew exactly what the problem with her car was. We confirmed the quoted price, and they completed the work. I was contacted once again when the work was done, and I made my payment over the phone. My brakes were making a strange noise and I wanted to see if I needed new brakes or what was going on. I took my car in and it turns out the brakes were just rusty. I was told that it doesn't cause any harm or damage and I have about 60% brakes life left. I love how CAR doesn't try to get the customers to replace things that don't need replacing. My engine splash guard ripped and they were able to get me in the same day I called. I picked up the part from the Ford dealership in Loveland and brought it with my car to be fixed. The splash guard that was on my car is discontinued, so I thought it would be a couple hundred to fix. Instead, they told me that the part that was ripped was not necessary, and to return the parts that I bought from the dealership. I cannot express enough how much their honesty meant to me! I cannot recommend them enough! I am definitely going to be a long term customer! read more

I took my car there because it wouldn't start and I told them it was most likely the starter. They informed me that they had to replace my battery in order to check the starter. So they did all that and still the car didn't start. I received a charge on my debit card for $300. ??? I will never go there again. read more

What an awesome shop. I sent my Son who is a sophomore at CSU here for rear brakes on his VW after the VW dealer told him he needed them soon. Bobbie was very helpful and scheduled my son for this morning. When they inspected they found that his brakes have at least 50% of the pad left and he doesn't need to replace the. For quite a while. The work done on my car was done well (to the best of my knowledge) and at a reasonable price. My only complaint was how long I had to wait. I made an appointment online for 10am, and when I arrived I was told it would probably be another hour before they could look at my car. Almost three hours later, I received a call that they'd taken a look and here's what was wrong, they'd go ahead and start the work with my approval. Two more hours passed before my car was finished. I waited 5 hours for what I thought should have been an easy inspection, and I thought that having a scheduled appointment would mean they would reserve space to work on my car at that time. What was the point of making an appointment? If I were to go here again I'd show up first thing in the morning and plan on it taking a while. read more

Had a radiator hose replaced at this shop on my 05 Outback. Unfortunately, I think the mechanic at Campus Repair tightened the hose too tightly to the radiator, which broke the connector a week later. I towed the car back in expecting to pay a labor fee and wait a few days. I was pleasantly suprised that Campus Repair had already replaced the entire radiator for free (under their warranty) in a matter of hours! I have never received such good service, communication, or respect from any other mechanic. You pay a bit more but it is absolutely worth it. read more

Lent me a car for the days it was being worked on and then when another problem arose they offered to comp my rental car. Highway robbery. Flat out. We just got charged $40 to change a LIGHTBULB. One that I know is an $8 part at Napa Auto and less than 5 min to replace. And when I suggested that we just take care of it ourselves, she said he was already in the moddle of doing it. I should have just insisted that they not, and take care of it myself. 0 stars if I had the option. Don't let a mechanic take advantage of you, this one will. read more

I recently was gifted a 2000 Toyota Camry from my Uncle Charley, who is getting a little long in the tooth and decided to hang up his keys. Charley was a loyal customer of Campus Repair Inc and with the car came receipts from that establishment, dating from 4/4/17 and 4/2/18, both written by Sadie Shepherd. The work in each case was performed by what they call a technician, one Tom Loomis. In 2017 good old Tom sold Charley a brake, battery and fluid inspection for $49, A brand new power steering pump for $446.77, degreased his engine for 49.61, and even though he had supposedly removed the power steering pump, sold him a 'power steering flush' for 103.17 and then graciously installed his hub caps for 9.82. All this after he brought in a working car for an inspection prior to taking a trip. The odometer was at 89, 060 when this work was completed and Uncle Charley shelled out 698.17 after it was all toted up. Charley came back to Campus Repair a year later, at 4/2/18 with an odometer reading of 96,792 and they really saw him coming. Sadie wrote it up this time as follows. Tom Loomis, that delightful fellow, sold him a lube oil and filter change for 43.24, replaced his oil pump, timing belt and coolant for 1118.85, once again replaced his power steering pump for 448.82, flushed out that filthy gunk power steering fluid from last year for 85.40 and replaced his battery for 163.40. This time Charlie walked out of Tom Loomis and Campus repair's clutches a good 1973.57 lighter, even though the power steering pump and all labor was still under warranty, according to what was written on the bottom of the receipt. You might want to think hard about the fragility of power steering before taking your car there. Their 12 month 12000 mile warranty only goes eleven months twenty eight days. It's a funny thing about that Toyota. They must be terrible cars, because the power steering pump fluid is pretty dirty looking and it's only at 101,000 miles now. I don't actually see any sign that the oil pan has ever been removed either. Thanks, Tom and Sadie! I hope that the pair of you get your just reward in whatever afterlife you end up in. read more

Nobody like when their car fails. I have had my car(s) break down or glitch out in some function or another over the last year, many times. From a window, to struts, to alignment, to replacing my heater, Campus was there, and could get me in within a few days! Most dealerships besides the local Suburu take weeks. Tom the technician knows his stuff and the general manager Sadie is awesome when it comes to telling you straight up if they can fix it or not. She doesn't bullshit you and try to sale you a bunch of things. She tells you exactly what parts are, and how much it'll be before they do anything, and she has a plethora of knowledge about automobiles herself. She definitely made what could be a crappy experience a lot better! I am really thankful for her and for their expertise. The only reason I didn't rate them a 5 star is because I do know other mechanics in town who are a little cheaper when it comes to labor prices, however I continue to go for the service. read more
