BUYER BEWARE: On December 5th I brought my car in to have my break pads, & rotors put on. When I had called the first time to get a quote for pricing, I was told the total would run $160 (80/hr for labor). I drove my car (breaks manageable at this point) down to Scott's Service Center after speaking with Dan. I drop my car off and leave. 2 hours later, I get a call saying, "One caliper is gushing break fluid and the other is on its way out. Your total now is gonna be about $500 dollars if I include your calipers and labor." Suddenly, my $160 fix has turned into a $500 fix! I was told my calipers would cost $180, the two hours of labor, plus break fluid and cleaner. Things still didn't add up to $500. I was essentially told that if I couldn't come up with the money and have to make the decision to leave, I'd be charged extra money to have to put my-now-ruined breaks together again. How kind. I shopped around for parts and found what I needed. Day 2: I bring in new parts and they start working on it. Get a call an hour later saying I need to come in. As my boyfriend and I go back, again, Dan tries to explain what the problem is (Needed new brackets for calipers as well). I asked for advice, to which he offered none because "I didn't get my parts from him." "You probably went to Pep Boys, huh? Listen, you want to go the cheap route then this is what you get. You could have gotten your parts from me! I can't tell you what I need because you have a Mazda and there's like 8 sub models. I have no idea which one. I wouldn't know what to order even if you got them from me until I call my guy." I guess me knowing EXACTLY what model my car is doesn't count as solid enough evidence or the VIN # I also offered. I wasn't aware advice was only offered if you buy their parts.. weird. I also didn't know that trying to bully your customers into a $500 expense was also good business practice, as well as your "holier than thou" customer service capabilities. I asked again, "Your calipers are $180 right?" He goes, "Calipers? Not both! They're $180 each! But at least they'll work!" Anyway, we buy all new parts again ($84 each not from Dan). Bring them in and they tell me to wait. This point, I feel defeated and worried this is becoming an expense I won't be able to fund anymore. Dan comes out of the back and goes, "They don't fit." I could have burst into tears. "Just kidding.", he laughs. Hilarious joke. My boyfriend and I asked for the old calipers back while other workers finish putting on new parts. "Let me drop everything", Dan says. I'm floored by this attitude. They were already off the car! We leave with the old calipers and wait for a call from them when it's finished to pick it up. We never received a call until 4:45 as we're walking in because we haven't heard anything for over 2 more hours. Total came to $218. $160 for 2 hours labor $58 for shop supplies (break fluid & break cleaner) YIKES! We pay, and leave. I get into my car, and drive away and immediately noticed I'm pushing my breaks to the floor!!! Stuck in traffic and can't turn around quick enough to bring it back before they close. Well, I guess missing work for 2 days, all the gas back and forth, and time lost PLUS $218 to get my breaks fixed was for nothing because THEY DIDN'T WORK! I very slowly drove my car home that night. Guess who put on new calipers, got paid, and never bled the breaks! Scott's Service Center! My boyfriend and I bled them ourselves the next day. If you're looking for over priced parts, confrontational customer service and a half done job because you don't buy their parts, make your way on down! They'll hook you right up, just ask for Dan! read more

the caliper on my car was leaking they talked me into changing both rear calipers i had just done a brake job on the car 2 months before. when i picked up the car i found they changed the new roters and brake pads. then they said By the way we couldn't get the emergence brake cable out so we cut it. you have no emergence brake 350.00 if you wants us to fix it. not only did they through away new parts but made more work because they couldn't do the job' BE WARE THEY CREATE WORK read more

After being referred by a friend, I recently purchased new tires and had some additional work done at Scott's Service Center. I was nothing but impressed with the service. Furthermore, I found the staff to be professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. And, as far as a time frame -the work was done early (!) and I was phoned promptly. I really couldn't be happier with the service. Dan was honest and realistic about the options regarding the vehicle (2005 Corolla). He didn't push me to fix everything and let me know what safety/maintenance issues I might want to keep in mind in the future. Dan truly went above and beyond. These guys are great. They are reasonably priced, do the work in fast time, and are easy to deal with. Not only that but alot of mchanics take advantage of women. My girlfriend and her family had longtaken their cars there when they lived in Taunton. I was skeptical and tested them on a job they could easily have exagerated into something bigger. Instead they were VERY honest, fixed the issue and gave them a discount cuz of a part the got a deal on (holy crap!). Here is my review of a transaction that happened today involving my 2003 Ford Focus SVT. First I want to say im a local guy and dont take pride in being negative about local businesses and always try and support the local hometown guy. However todays transaction as well as a previous transaction on my previous car (2002 Honda Civic Si) have now confirmed I will NEVER again do any business with them. A couple days ago i had my SVT Focus towed to them. I knew that it was a shifter cable issue but did not have confidence I could repair it myself. A got a call the following morning with a warning of grim news. The shifter cables did indeed need to be replaced ($450) but to do this job would involve removal of part of my exhaust system (come to find out thats a lie, the exhaust doesnt need to be removed if the repair had been done properly). The exhaust system parts could or would possibly break (near the flex pipe/flange). I told them go ahead and replace the shifter cables but dont worry about the exhaust. I have a good friend and trusted local guy who does exhausts. It was reiterated that to facilitate the repair the exhaust needed to be removed (i assumed for access to the shifter cable(s), again, come to find out thats not the case. I was quoted for the repair and gave the go ahead. Fast forward to today, I left work early so i could catch them before 5pm to pick up the car from their shop and hurry it over to the exhaust shop to repair whatever parts needed to be repaired. I arrived and spoke with them briefly about the repairs and they warned me the car was VERY loud. I presumed they had disconnected the exhaust at the flex pipe near the manifold. I squared up payment and got into the car. The shifter was indeed repaired. The car was indeed VERY loud. Again, knowing that exhaust repairs may be needed. I noticed a check engine light was on but figured it was due to the disconnected exhaust. Off I went in my obnoxiously loud vehicle....holy cow was it loud. I arrived at the exhaust shop and walked around back and noticed that in the rear bumper where the exhaust tip SHOULD exit there was NOTHING there...WTF?? Upon closer inspection Scotts had not just disconnected the exhaust but removed the ENTIRE exhaust from the flex pipe back! The whole thing was gone. The resonator. The muffler. The back section with exhaust tip. THE WHOLE ENTIRE SYSTEM HAD BEEN REMOVED! Now mind you, for non car enthusiast, the SVT Focus is a high performance variant of the Focus that comes equipped with a full stainless steel high flow performance exhaust system from the factory. Its a pricey and very expensive system to replace (stainless steel). We are talking a couple thousand dollars here new. I promptly called them to ask what was going on, i was rather upset to say the least. I expected to need to repair a flange or a hanger etc....but not replace the entire exhaust system. I knew the exhaust was in good shape as i had recently been under the car at said exhaust shop to repair a broken hanger in the back section. Visually it was in pretty good shape overall. When i asked the where abouts of my exhaust system i was told in a rather argumentative manner that I was told that the exhaust was going to be removed and that it had been cut up and scrapped. I was livid, i made a b line back to Scotts. I was once again told that they did what i had agreed to (i didnt agree to unnecessarily removing my entire exhaust system) and that i never asked for the "old parts" back. Why would i ask for my old parts back if there is no reason to remove the entire system? The exhaust is NOT rusted. No holes. Nothing is wrong with it minus it now being in several pieces after being haphazardly removed. Knowing what i know now, they removed the exhaust as a short cut. The shifter linkage is replaced without removing the exhaust. My entire exhaust was going to be scrapped by them (you get good money for stainless steel scrap). Thankfully i was able to retrieve it, even though it was cut up, and i am having it reinstalled. I plan to not only file a complaint with the Business Bureau but also file suit for the damage and out of pocket expenses involved with having to hsve their poor work repaired. I found several self tapper screws, screwed into the undercarriage holding up the heat shield that wasnt properly removed, the heat shield was bent back and then forced back into place instead of proper removal. Just poor work, poor service, and overall poor quality all around. I plan to pursue this further just on proncipal alone. Excuse any typos as this is all written on a phone. Never again will I go here and I hope to warn as many people as possible. read more

I've posted on here about other mechanics and they are very good, but this is the best in town. Being new to this area I was shopping all around and finally went here. I wish I went here a long time ago! So professional and as nice as can be, they are very patient and only want the best for you. It's been written before but these guys don't waste any time and get right to it, super fast. I can't believe how quickly it was done. The biggest things I think people are looking for is whether they do a good job and how much, my truck runs so much better and done perfectly. I can't say enough good things about this place!! So many times they've saved me last minute, and fixed my car quickly so I could get to work. So affordable and trustworthy, knowing I'm not being ripped off for anything. Went in for a squeak under the hood thinking it was my alternator, my serpentine belt was fixed within an hour and was like $100! Got a flat tire recently, they plugged it up and put the tire on and only charged me $10! So nice and friendly, too! New to the area and so thankful I've found this place!
