Minding my business while building a business is pretty much my mantra and that keeps me traveling back to Scottsdale. If you're going to visit Scottsdale during high season, this is your spot. You'll get a very friendly group of staff ready to assist your needs, a well maintained property and spacious rooms, and the perfect location to be central to the most livable city all without the pricey tag of surrounding hotels. Had a work trip and I wasn't needing anything like the Global Ambassador or Phoenician. I wanted clean rooms, kitchen and work space. We booked a two bedroom in Building D and loved it. I would probably request an upstairs unit next time. It's like a private condo, including my heavy foot neighbor upstairs. Plenty of parking, even had a private patio to soak up the gorgeous weather during our visit. Maid service is available daily if you don't put out your do not disturb card. I did notice I couldn't find an iron to steam out my work outfits but shower steam works too. The other odd thing was the small pillows on the king bed. I would prefer kind size pillows for a more comfortable sleep. We didn't have enough time to use the gym or pool but saw several guests getting their vitamin D. There is also a cute little market on site at the lobby if you need meds, wine, snacks. The Splash Bar has your usual offerings if you don't want to explore the restaurant scene. I love being in the Camelback corridor because it's close to my favorite eateries and just a few lights from Fashion Square and Old Town. Having to travel more to my old stomping ground, a good night sleep is a silent power move. read more

After visiting with family last week and spending the night last minute, I decided to take my sister-in-love for a mini-vacation. I booked a studio for the night, and couldn't have been more pleased. The villa is bigger than the square footage implies, thanks to the second bedroom being a loft with a terrace. Downstairs, the bathroom boasts a whirlpool bath, which my SIL said was amazing. While the larger units have full kitchens, we had a kitchenette which was more than enough for our needs. It might not be sufficient for the four adults the villa sleeps, though. Keep that in mind if you like to bring in groceries and cook your own meals. We spent most of our time at the pool. I won't wax poetic about the glories of the pool area, I'll just say that I got piña coladas brought right to my poolside lounge chair. I sipped my frozen coconut concoction while sitting in the spa at night. The next morning, we went to the pool early and breakfast was brought to us at our poolside chairs (and another piña colada for me). I love this place. read more

Not a very friendly place for a resort. A limited food offering better suited for pool side snacks only. Zero amenities from the staff with the excuse of "our new policy". I have stayed there several times but will not return again. I'm not sure where the meaning of resort is. My wife became ill and needed a later checkout time to rest more. I was told they would give me two extra hours for $50.00. After 3 nights stay we ran out of the coffee packs in the room and I asked for another packet for the room. That cost me an additional $4.00. A little more understanding and compassion for your guests should be addressed. Getting charged $50.00 for a single hour over the check out time shows the lack of customer understanding. read more

it has been my pleasure to have been a guest at Scottsdale camelback resort week 3 to week 8. I cant say enough for the entire staff at Scottsdale Camelback resort. The front desk staff goes above and beyond to make each guest feel welcomed, Freedom Meghan, Vanessa. Their communication skills and outgoing personalities makes dealing with the front desk a pleasurable experience. Leisure services takes so much time to communicate and greet each guest and let them know all the activities. Their professionalism is second to none. The Leisure service department is always ready with all the necessary equipment and activities needed to have a fun day. I noticed the attention to detail concerning following the rules of the resort. BRAVO to Learl and Devanie, and Ana! Housekeeping and Maintenance teams were always willing to accommodate me and my family whenever necessary. Steve was really nice and I couldn't help but notice their dedication to keeping the resort in tippy top shape. KUDOS to the whole staff. Lastly, I enjoyed listening to the music outside on the pool deck each day. Great tunes and perfect volume. In closing, I would highly recommend this resort to everyone and anyone. A slice of heaven! First of all, I'll say the grounds and the rooms are very, very nice, with a lot for families to do. And the front desk and restaurant staff are all very pleasant. However, there are some caveats: * there are no high locks on the doors, thus small children have easy access to leave when they want * A/C is set to not go below 72°. This is an uncomfortable temperature for my family, and a lot of people I know. Pro tip, YouTube helps with this. * They have no built in streaming services...but they have DVD players. Avoid this "resort" with their BED BUGS and TERRIBLE customer service! Our family was looking forward to a long Father's Day weekend in Scottsdale. We drive for over 6 hours with two of our children and checked in around 7pm. As we were getting ready to lay down, we moved the pillows and discovered running bed bugs! We immediately told our kids to grab all of our belongings and get them out of the room. As my children and I frantically repacked, my husband went to the front desk and spoke with Dez. She showed zero empathy for the situation and offered to move us to another room (likely also infested with bed bugs). She said we would need to LEAVE OUR BELONGINGS IN THE ROOM FOR THEM TO TREAT! Clearly that was not an option as we were disgusted. We checked out at nearly 11pm. This left us sitting in a McDonalds parking lot until midnight with our two young children while trying to find another place to sleep. We drove back to California the very next morning. After two messages to the general manager, I received a call back from the front desk assistant manager. The assistant manager also showed no empathy for the situation and merely offered a resort fee refund. They were firm on the stay being nonrefundable since it was booked through a third party site. Regardless of how a room is booked, leaving a family in this situation and refusing to refund the stay is unacceptable. DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

The place is cute but isn't very clean. Regardless if we stayed for one night or seven, housekeeping definitely doesn't have attention to detail. They had their chance to shine before I checked in. They had their first impression to wow me by not leaving a Bobby pin or a clothing tag on the floor. Weird that y'all down folks for staying one night. Even the woman checking us in turned her nose up to us and made a comment about staying only one night. I paid the rate for the night posted so if y'all don't like it, don't offer it. My Husband and I were absolutely thrilled with our entire stay. We reserved the studio suite and will be staying here for every trip to Scottsdale from this point on! The grounds are beautiful with a TON of fun amenities such as a pool, spa, tennis courts, put put, and a mini golf course. The pool staff are amazing and have fun activities throughout the day (can we say poolside bingo?!). It was so much fun. The studio itself is two stories with a private balcony. Loft style floor plan with two beds, a queen upstairs and a king downstairs. Both were comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen, and did I mention the jetted tub, washer/dryer AND wood burning fireplace?! Overall this was one of the best trips to Phoenix/Scottsdale we've ever had, and that includes some stays at "well known" resorts that didn't come close! We had a unit towards the front of the resort, major downfall was the very loud traffic racing up and done the street in the middle of night was VERY noisy!!! No way to really drown it out! Upon check out we were presented with an additional $205 charge, apparently this a daily resort charge! After paying a premium price for stay already and the fact that this was not disclosed while making our reservation was very disappointing. 2nd stay here in 2022. Not nearly as good the 2nd time. Maids rousted us every day at 8:30am, virtually ruining our ability to relax, unwind and sleep in. Kept asking them to show up later instead and they just kept coming at 8:30am or even earlier. Very annoying and unpleasant for what we were paying. Then, asked for a late check out than 10AM as our flight was later in the day, and they wouldn't even give us an extra hour. Super disappointing and frustrating as the Manager really couldn't have cared less about all thay happened to us. We like the resort amenities and the unit configuration, which is what brought us back, getting shagged out of bed daily at.the crack of dawn while on vacation, and getting stiffed on even one extra hour for what is an atypical 10AM check time was a total letdown. read more

The service here is awful. The first time we were here the cleaning ladies forgot that we were in the room (a glitch in their computer system supposedly.). Even after calling and asking for cleaning no one came for 3 days - and ironically, our room was right next door to the cleaning offices. I spoke with the general manager and she was totally rude and incompetent. Since they won't give me the owners' info there is no one to go to above her and my guess is that the owners have no idea how bad this place is because she will never report herself and no one can contact her superior. One was Lori one was Robin or Shannon. No management skills. No problem-solving skills. Was extremely rude saying that we didn't understand the issues then had to call back and eat her words. 2nd time - i asked for synthetic pillows when I reserved the room and then called the day of. We're allergic to down. Do you think the pillows were there after two calls? Nope. Had to call a third time even though the lady in reservations assured me she put the ticket in. I could tell you countless stories like this which show just how incompetent the staff are and how poorly managed this place is. When we got to lie room there was trash all over the yard area etc. The sheets were also very dirty (blood or something) when we first arrived. So annoying!! The people at the front desk, 3 out of 4 times have an attitude, and act like spoiled teenagers, like it's a hardship for them to be there or to answer questions or help with something. When you go to the pool at night, they have no towels there. They can't do a wash mid-day so that the pool towels are available?? The air filter was so dirty, you could scratch an inch off of it. We asked them to replace it the first day. Got the run around for 3 days and by day 4 when we were leaving, they told us it was on backorder, even though the facilities guy said he'd go to Ace Hardware or Home Depot to get a replacement if it's out of stock in their closet. Totally incompetent - they drop stuff all the time, never follow through - they're practically useless. Why do we come here? For a cheap rate you get a 2 or 3 bedroom casita that is about 3x the price around here. The rooms are dated and not well kept. The restaurant and breakfast is a joke. But it's about the space for a family with kids. I may not come back after the last list of failures on their part and the staff's rudeness and lack of concern for their work. Ok so my last visit wasn't the most peaceful. I was invited back and let me just tell you......this resort takes the cake!!! If I was only reviewing the customer service, that is enough for anyone who is looking for 5 star service. ALL of the employees are fantastic. Very polite, very accommodating and just nice people! It's so refreshing because well, y'know, sometimes good customer service is scarce. Ok, now the resort. Can I just say that I love the old-town-Scottsdale feel to this resort. It's like old-money feels. Classy, elegant, charming. Our room this time wasn't the big daddy like last time but it was equally as perfect. A large king bed downstairs with kitchen and living area and then upstairs was a loft with a queen bed and patio!! Perfect for when I wanted to nap and the hubby wanted to watch tv. The property itself is soooooo chill. Miniature golf located around the resort and several lovely sitting areas. I have yet to check out the pool but from what I gathered (and overheard from other guests), it's just as awesome as everything else. Next time, I'm taking them up on their happy hour!!! Ok, I'm not done yet.... The. SPA. oh my lanta. FIRST, can I just say that Emily is the best. I called last minute to see if they had any openings and at the time, they were booked solid. Well, Ms Emily put me on their cancellation list and lo and behold, I got in!! Emily was so kind and helpful in making my reservation and then running all my Spa Finder gift cards she was so patient the whole time. She needs a raise!! The spa experience was fantabulous. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa in January for a girls weekend and it was comfortable, spacious, well equipped kitchen, super clean, etc. the spa services were also great. Pool & lobby area were good- not super luxurious but we were very happy overall with the stay. I wish they had more breakfast / coffee options before 9:30 ish. It closed enough to walk to camelback mountain or Scottsdale Fashion Square. Ubers to nearby restaurants are cheap and plentiful. read more

I did not have a good experience at this place. Upon checkin at 1pm, the clerk was very confused and did not seem to know how to operate the computer. He asked other front desk personnel questions and at one point 3 people were staring at the computer as if they had no idea what they were doing. The room was not ready and I was asked for and provided some information. I was told I would be called when the room was ready. I returned around 330pm and was told the room was ready but I never got a call. I was told they got real busy yet there was nobody else in the lobby. I was given a room after a long time of the clerk fumbling with the computer and I was asked to provide the info I previously provided, like my vehicle license number. I parked my vehicle and the four of us unloaded our stuff and went to our room to find someone in the room. Somehow the desk gave me a room already occupied. I lugged my stuff back to the lobby in the 106 degree heat and everyone was dumfounded as to how that could happen. 3-4 people tried to figure out what happened and it took way too long. I was then told by someone who I think was a Manager that I was going to be upgraded from a 1 bedroom with a loft to a two bedroom. We lugged our stuff back to this new room and it is right on the busy street and it is LOUD all day and evening long. I was too tired to go back and request a different room. I did not sleep well for 2 nights due to the loud street noise. It was so bad we cut our trip short by one night and drove the 6 hours to get home to get a good night sleep. I was also told there would be maid service, there was not. At one point during the fiasco in the lobby, my wife was feeling light headed and I needed to get her a protein bar and I grabbed two from the store in the lobby. You'd think due to all their mistakes that they'd offer them complimentary. Nope. I was charged $1.25 each for two. Lastly, one evening I wanted to get food from their kitchen. There is a QRR code on the refrigerator indicating they are open until 9pm. I went to the lobby area to see how/where to order food and they said the kitchen was closed and just closed at 7:50pm. When I pointed out that the website indicated it was open until 9pm, I was told the hours changed 3 months ago. Don't be fooled by the cheap room rates and the size of the Villas. Those are good but the place is run by a bunch of rookies who have no idea what customer service is. Everybody looks like they are confused and it is their first day on the job. I was never offered anything to make up for my miserable experience and poor treatment. I would also like to mention, this place is a timeshare and you can hear the staff talk amongst themselves and the first question between them is, "are they an owner." I absolutely loved staying here! The rooms were super nice and clean and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I stayed in a studio which sleeps up to four people. It had a full kitchen, washer dryer, a jet tub, and a balcony overlooking the resort! The amenities were kept very clean as well. It was very relaxing to sit by the pool and enjoy happy hour at the poolside grille. They have tennis courts, putt putt, a movie theater, spa, and fitness center. update: booking.com reach the manager and they lied and said that they never promised any compensation for my 3 hours at their business. Under booking.Com it says studio. To me that means one story. It even list two beds. You shouldn't have to dig around to find that there are two beds and they are on separate levels. also you shouldn't have the dig through your confirmation email to find that out, you just open your email to know your check-in time the address, close the email and show up. But I digress. Nothing about it was resort like, no valet no room service, yet had resort fees. I tried to cancel upon arrival when I saw that nothing about it was resort like, but when they told me booking.com would take $129 out of my 179 I decided to try to make the best of it. I had to reload everybody back into the car and our things park and walk in the heat while dragging everything and two kids all the way to the room. When I got to my room I saw that it was a two floor studio, Every Villa I have ever been in has been one floor. (I live in a two-story townhouse. I have a baby gate at the bottom and top of my stairs. I have a baby gate that goes into my kitchen. I have a baby gate for nearly every room in my own home.) It was completely unsafe for my children, ages 1.5 and 5, complete safety hazard after safety hazard, my son hit his head on the sharp glass table, tried to climb inside the fireplace, grabbed a poker, got into the cabinets repeatedly, the cleaning supplies under the sink, the remote was broken and missing batteries , had to call several times for them to fix that which in turn led to them having to reset the cable box, they did not provide baby gates , then one they try to install was broken upon them trying to, though the maintenance guy was nice about it, but wooden baby gates haven't been used since what 2009? the crib was too small and my son climbed out of it immediately and hurt himself. Tangled himself in the sheer curtains, All I needed was one Safe room with one bed to contain everybody in, so we could have one night of fun before I had to return them to my ex for his fair share of time with them. Despite my best efforts to make it safe knowing I wouldn't be refunded my children's safety is more important, I knew that even though we had only been there a few hours we had to leave. The manager said he would make it right and work with booking to refund me, that he felt for me and understood I had hoped that he would follows through on his word. however booking.com try to get in touch with him and they wouldn't answer the phone. I get 8 days off a month to myself as a single mom. I wanted one fun night with my kids out of the house before school starts. I don't have a lot of money as a single mom and what I do have I like to spend on my kids. And even if I had spouse with me, the constant anxiety of having to chase two kids around the room to keep them safe would have not have given us an opportunity to relax. I booked this place because it was listed as a family-friendly resort and had free breakfast. It is best for older children, who can take advantage of their activities their villa layouts, and their room amentities such as their kitchenettes washer dryers etc. it can be the right place for someone else it was just not the right place for us. and I don't appreciate that the manager was sympathetic to my face and then didn't follow through with his promise to refund me after I had only stayed for three hours tops. Basically I paid $200 to eat $40 Uber eat pizza in a room that was like one giant mouse trap. read more

I decided to book the room because of the size of the room ( 2 bedroom 1500sqft) but what an unpleasant experience. Check in is at 4:00pm, which is pushing it, but checkout is at 10:00am? If it takes house keeping a 6 hour turn around time to clean the room, then it either tells me that the hotel is poorly managed or they have a total disregard to the consumer and the value of the product that they provide. I asked to checkout a little later, so that I can have some time to take a shower before heading out. I was told that I can take a shower in the club house ? Are you serious? That was a slap in the face and pretty much decided that I would NEVER give this company another chance. I started packing up and got another call 10 minutes later asking if we left and told them that I am almost done. They told me if I haven't left within 30 minutes, then I would have to pay $65. I didn't even mind the out dated decor but the bed felt like I was sleeping on concrete. I had the worst sleep of my life. If you are looking to stay at this hotel...don't. Check out the Scottsdale Hilton Resort and Villas, they have rooms just as big, updated decor, comfortable beds, great location, and check out is at noon. Happy Thanksgiving! Terrible terrible terrible customer service! I was suffering from food poisoning last night and I needed an extended check out! They give me till 11 o'clock. I stepped out of the building at 11:10am. I then walked over to the checkout and I was given a bill for an additional $108. The woman said that she cannot do anything because her hands were tied but if I spoke to a manager he may be able to override. I then spoke to Steve long, guest service supervisor at Scottsdale Camelback resort. I explained to him the situation and he said he couldn't do anything. I told him I was going to share with the world my experience.... he then smiled and gave me a thumbs up and said go for it. And then I looked at the assistant and she gave me the biggest f-u grin I have ever seen. - update - Steve just called and said he would remove the charges because he had a "change of heart". Although I do appreciate that and will not go to the 20 other websites I was planning on posting my experience on.... I am still pissed. And therefor based on this one experience I will never go back to this resort again. Aside from this awesome check out the place is old rundown and need to be updated along with their personalities! My mom and I love this place, so she exchanged to go there a THIRD time. All three times we've been there for the holidays. Why only 4 stars this time? First, it's beyond their control for the most part, but Scottsdale has gotten SUPER crowded lately, and it's really difficult at times to get in and out of the resort. Second, the housekeeping comes "in mid-week" which we assumed would mean Wednesday, but nope, it was Tuesday. We weren't prepared at all, and the housekeepers probably thought we were slobs. Still might be nice to get a better heads-up there. There was a "Taco Tuesday" at the bar by the pool but to be completely honest it was underwhelming for the price. I won't call it a negative though because I love the atmosphere at the poolside bar! Everyone working at this resort is super friendly, and the resort - at least the rooms where we've stayed, and the grounds - are extremely well maintained. We've stayed in dozens of timeshares and this is by far in our top 5 if not our top 3. Oh - and another fun thing we did several times was played mini-golf! Free, well free for a $25 "activity fee" at the start of the week. The "Kokopelli trail" on the grounds was also a highlight. I also have to say I love the jacuzzi but I wish it wasn't closed at 11pm. It's so far from units, it's not like noise of people in there would be a problem, unless it's a safety thing. I know for me, I really liked to go in there and unwind. Will we be back? If I have anything to say about it, ABSOLUTELY. Just give a better heads-up on the housekeeping thing next time. read more

I am beyond words with the amazing service! My family and I received as we were planing my son's wedding. If your going to splurge this is the place. Elisa the event coordinator went above and beyond to meet our needs and make sure my son's wedding was a memorable day for our family. All the employees have such adequate customer service. The wedding was more then what we could of asked for. Scottsdale Camelback Resort was the best choice. After the wedding we were able to stay the night have complimentary breakfast enjoy the pool, racketball, basketball and some corn hole with the family. Great ending to our weekend. Stayed at Scottsdale Camelback Resort as part of a bachelorette party. We had a three bedroom condo for our stay. Since there's a lot to cover, I'll break each area down by pros (+) and cons (-). Condos: + well decorated: comfortable couch, table and chairs, "upscale" western motif + kitchen is well stocked with utensils, appliances, etc; everything you'd need to cook and serve a meal is in the cupboards/drawers + fridge, oven/stove top, microwave provided for your use + loved the complimentary bath supplies they provided (better quality) + private patio with mediocre patio furniture - beds were horribly hard and uncomfortable - layout of complex hard to navigate, difficult to find your specific condo Clubhouse: + free breakfast for guests at the Grille (not a hot breakfast, but makes fresh waffles) + reasonable bloody mary price (~$4) +offers lots of amenities like a spa, volleyball, kids and adult events, croquet, bocce ball, a labyrinth... + beautiful pool with a large hot tub - pool closes early (10PM?), in AZ it should be 24hrs! A beautiful resort, will definitely plan on returning at some point to take advantage of the amenities they offer... like bocce ball! read more

This was our second stay at the resort. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit which was fine except for the confusing upstairs bathroom with way too many doors which don't lock. The living room was a little small. The resort itself is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. You can get an activity card for $7 which gives you access to a closet full of sporting equipment to play croquet, miniature golf, putting, volleyball, basketball, racquetball, and tennis. There are also games to borrow for free. The swimming pool is salt water. The location was perfect for us since we were visiting Sedona and Tucson. We were able to walk to Camelback Mountain for the Cholla Trail hike. read more

This stylish resort is located at the base of Camelback Mountain and about a mile from Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale. The location couldn't be better. The salt water pool is a dream to layout in during the summer. The huge hot tub is a delight in the winter. They have a poolside bar, a restaurant, a gym, a sauna, a spa, racquetball courts, tennis courts. The villas can accommodate 1 to 8 people and have a kitchen and dining room. I've met lots of people from all over the globe here. The people at the front desk have always been friendly and chatty. They seem to get a kick out of the fact that I've been going there for 23 years. read more

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The staff was so incredibly rude to us from the moment we came to the resort. On booking.com they said I had to be at least 18 to rent a room. As it states "anyone over the age of 18 is considered an adult." Cool right? So I spend 350+ booking the resort and when we show up they say "yeah you can't stay here. You have to be 21." So I say "okay well that's not what your third party booking website says. But whatever just refund my money." "Yeah we can't do it. Non-refundable. Sorry have a good night." Excuse me?!? So I'm livid. I call Booking.com and they say they won't refund it but will call the complex and ask them to override it since it was their fault for misinforming me. Cool. So they figure it out. We got there at 7:30ish we didn't get our room till 11pm. Fine whatever we get the room, on our departure we accidentally locked ourselves out and our key deactivated at 10:00 exactly. Not knowing this, we are like oh no. So we ask if we can get a new key and we are screamed at for not wearing a mask because our masks were in our room. Fine we step out to call, and she was so nasty and HUNG UP ON ME. Saying a random associate would get out stuff out and I was angry because I don't feel comfortable letting a stranger be alone with my purse and my expensive belongings. No way. So I finally track down the only decent worker there who just opened the door and told us to have a wonderful day. Never going back. Even the propert manager gave us Shit and slammed doors all around the office to show us he was mad. Grow up! Edit : again. Face masks were in our ROOM that we were locked out of and your receptionist ignored our calls and hung up on us multiple times. Get your staff under control. We had no choice but to come inside. read more
