Have you ever dreamed of staying in the hotel room in the middle of a wedding?! If you are screaming yes, request a casita room. We had to close our shades as the wedding can see directly into our room and the music is LOUD (Chris Brown is blasting as I type and bass, mercy is it bumping.) It was kinda creepy. We could see and hear the entire ceremony. In my reservation I requested a quiet room, and I have quiet room in my Hyatt profile. I don't think that much forethought is put into guest placement. Yes, we are paying pennies compared to this wedding BUT they are not fostering relationships with Hyatt members. (I did mention this to reception and they offered bonus points. Great BUT this is an awful last night.) The room: King Casita is an excellent size! We have a king bed and a rollaway bed and we still have space! The bathroom space is large too! I don't care for a stocked fridge and snacks. It's useless nowadays. We had to ask for a fridge to be brought in. The room is very clean, however there were a few moths flying around the room, which was odd. Pool: the pool is wonderful! We are here on spring break (a very popular travel week) and always found spots at the pool. The servers are the pool are awesome 5/5 stars! Attentive and professional. The food at the pool was great (the burger was the restaurant burger and the whipped ricotta and fruit was yummy). The location is great! We did rent a car but never had to drive far! The valet team is speedy but it's an odd service as the parking spaces are super close. (I was ready to give this place 4 stars but this last night is a stinky way to end the trip.) read more

We enjoyed a chill girls' getaway in Scottsdale. Our stay at Royal Palms was relatively quiet and peaceful, but the resort felt a little tired compared to my previous stay a few years earlier. Our room with two beds was spacious, but our beds were small (doubles maybe instead of queens?). Staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the morning coffee as well as dinner in the restaurant. Also enjoyed a spa treatment. The gym is compact but well-equipped. Overall it's a beautiful property with palm trees and fountains and mountain views. I'd stay again, but I think it could use a little TLC. read more

A fine line between rustic and needing TLC But don't get me wrong: Royal Palms is stunning! The history, the landscaping, the backdrop: all so scenic and a little escape in the middle of Phoenix. But, the Unbound by Hyatt team needs to be brought in to finish some important detailing. For example, the ground work is completely uneven all over the place. At the pool, it's quite painful to walk on barefoot. Not to mention, it retains the heat so well that you'll scuff up and burn your feet at the same time. The groundwork near the pool is especially poor, and really needs some repair. While we were OK walking around (other than pool, which was the worst experience on our feet), I wouldn't bring our grandparents here for fear of the uneven ground causing trouble for folks with mobility issues. Also, the chairs/upholstery, while some of it is obviously historic/antiquely rough around the edges, other parts of the property have furniture that's quite run down. The sun loungers in our private patio both had extreme rips in them and very stained. Door knobs and corners of furniture are either extremely chipped or missing varnish. Back to the good stuff: extremely soft bedding and room was clean! All of the staff we engaged with were so kind and in good spirits and helpful when we had a question or needed some help. The ambiance music they pump in outdoors in the main walkways was definitely adding to the vibe, and we enjoyed the misters on the walk to/from the pool in the summer time. There's so many little spots around the property to sit down and enjoy a beautiful view. Lovely landscaping and bougainvillea trees and bushes abound, gorgeous palms, and lots of shade! They do a decent job of keeping walkways free from too much sun which was a noticeable touch! All in all, Royal Palms was a treat! But I won't deny, for the price point, they need to do a better job maintaining so this hidden gem doesn't lose its sparkle with time. I had a staycation at The Royal Palms for the first time ever. The experience was great, from check in to check out. The Jr Suite was spacious and comfortable and had a beautiful soaking tub. Staff was very friendly and professional. I had a good experience at the bar and the restaurant as well. The Historic Tour (included with the resort fee) was fun and engaging. Barbara did a great job and helped me appreciate the place even more. There was also, I think, a mixology class included but I missed it. The grounds are beautiful. I did a lot of walking around. The not so great: $40 for self-parking... ugh... seems excessive. The fridge in the room was super small, just for beverages. A leftovers box did not fit. Ice machine was very far from the room. For that building 2 machines would have been ideal. read more

Cons: getting the cons out of the way as they are nitpicky and did not heavily affect the overall experience of the stay. Pool The biggest con is the pool. For such a large property having a single pool and its rather small size was a disappointment. Seats were impossible to get as everyone flocked to the pool by 10am. The ground was not only rough on feet (bad paving) it was also about 4000 degrees on our feet. Would suggest natural grass over turf because the artificial turf gets even hotter. If you are coming to Arizona specifically for an experience poolside, I would suggest a different hotel like Hotel Valley ho or the Omni. Bar and restaurant Both the bar and the restaurant were just okay. The bar had a great happy hour with big half priced apps and cheaper drinks, but the service was inconsistent across the board. They did a nice little live music on Saturday night but we also waited 20 mins to get our drinks. The restaurant we had no service issues but the food was mid at best and the menu was underwhelming in choice. For the price point in Scottsdale you would think this would be a 5 star experience and it felt like an afterthought to the resort. we ended up going to the restaurant purely based on convenience over substance. Inconsistencies with amenities While there were many amenities, that were very nice like having yard games randomly about the resort and all the hidden nooks and crannies to hang out in, many of the paid/advertised amenities were lackluster at best. the spa was disappointing to say the least they had maybe two features no private pool or sauna. The gym space was OK and the addition of the peloton bikes was fun. However, the space itself was very small and if anybody else came to the gym with you it was a very personal experience. The reserve seating outnumbered the public seating at the pool and the price point for the cabanas or daybeds was astronomical starting at 150 for a reserve seat and 250 for a cabana for a day. Pros: Property The property was by far the biggest star of the resort. The grounds are based on European architecture and are beautiful. luscious greenery all around the resort with countless amounts of shade across the entirety of the property. As stated before there were hundreds of hidden nooks and hangout spots with chairs and seating galore. This is probably why I was mostly disappointed with the pool seating because there's so little seating where everybody everywhere else on the resort there was so much, I also loved the architecture of the buildings themselves. A lot of it was original to when it was first built, and we learned many of the much of the history behind the buildings as well as the visitations of the rat pack and other famous celebrities to the hotel. Customer service The customer service was five stars, across-the-board. Starting with the valet system, which all of the valet attendants were very friendly, and we were greeted right away by not only someone at the front desk, but also Barbara who not only welcomed us in congratulated us on our anniversary, gave us two free glasses of champagne and gave us a mini tour of the entire property. there are paid historical tours as well, but she opted to just give us one out of the kindness of her heart. Anytime we had an interaction with anyone on the staff. It was always friendly and they always had suggestions for us. They seem to genuinely love their job or at least acted very well. It was during the slow season when we booked, and they gave us a free upgrade to our Casita to one of the premium ones and that was a great surprise to have. Location Location is Central to most things Scottsdale. We are within a mile or two of Scottsdale Road, which gives you access to the entire city as well as old town Scottsdale, which we spent most of our day on Saturday exploring. We are halfway in between the Biltmore and the fashion Square mall which is great shopping and just walking around. I think we got 10 to 12,000 steps in just exploring on Saturday. Rooms and beds Rooms and beds were exceptional. We did have an upgraded premium Casita so that was a nice bonus. The beds were very comfortableand we both slept very well. Overall experience We had some nitpicky grievances with some of the amenities, but otherwise the experience was top-notch across-the-board. We live in Phoenix and having this property within reach of us the price point, and all of the surrounding activities was a perfect staycation for our weekend. I don't think I thought about work or outside work once while I was there which is a great bonus.It was a pure escape . I'm only being nitpicky on certain things because everything else was so good. And all of those things are completely fixable. we don't normally vacation in Scottsdale, but the Royal Palms has definitely convinced us to come back. read more

I mean wow!!! This place deserves all the flowers - we were in town for a wedding this weekend and stayed a night at Royal Palms which was just fantastic. From the absolutely stunning architecture to the laid back ambiance and pristine service, we really got to relax and unwind. We originally booked a king bed which they did not have available yet when we early checked in so they gave us two doubles which was a bummer but they offered us complimentary drink vouchers to use at their bar to make up for it (which we ended up using for smoothies at the resto the next morning). The hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous but for the price- the service and rooms don't match. The hotel rooms are outdated and offer nothing special or unique for being a Michelin hotel. I have stayed at other Michelin hotels that make your stay a lot more special and the rooms are next level. The pool was enjoyable but prices are steep for food and drink all around. We had really bad service at breakfast everything with incorrect orders and slow service. Again, the grounds are gorgeous but that was the best part. read more

It was nice they had a bar/restaurant as well as a fine dining restaurant to choose from in addition to some poolside food and drink options. The rooms are nice, not the fanciest but definitely spacious and comfortable. Valet parking only but we went in and out a lot and they were very accommodating. The bar and restaurant are good but I wouldn't make that a deciding factor in staying here. They do tons of weddings so depending on where your room is, it can be noisy. read more

It has been several years since I have been to the Royal Palms. For a friends birthday, we went to celebrate and it was such a fun time! The courtyard, fountain, a d lush greenery almost make you feel like your in Italy, such a pretty oasis. We were there for Happy Hour and the drinks were especially nice. Our sever Romeo highly recommended the cocktails and mentioned that he created most of them. The Gooseberry and Lavender Lady were both really good! Service was nice and the staff were very hospitable. I had the Little Gem Salad and the others ordered the charcuterie, gnocchi and mash potatoes and liked their choices. They brought out a dessert with candle for the birthday girl and also treated us to a free shot and and a fun toast at the bar! We really enjoyed our time and I will certainly be back again. If your tired of going out and music is too loud to have s conversation, The Royal Palms is just the place. Live music was such a nice touch!! read more

My wife and I booked two nights at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa earlier this Fall to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first visit at the Royal Palms, and it certainly did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time relaxing over a long weekend while eating delicious food, enjoying tasty drinks, and exploring the beautiful surroundings both within the resort and beyond. We were delighted that there was a full schedule of special events being offered at the resort during the weekend we were there. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which offered us plenty of space and a living area to relax in when we weren't sleeping and not exploring the resort. We received French macarons and bottled water as a welcome amenity. We also received a glass of champagne upon arrival and another offered during the history tour. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool where we could order food and drinks, and they were making fresh guacamole and serving complimentary chips on one of the days. We returned to the pool on our second evening there to watch a dive in movie (Dirty Dancing!) with tasty popcorn. There was also live music each evening. While we saw few children around, we saw a lot of couples, many celebrating special occasions like us. We also found plenty of hidden corners of the property to relax in and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We had two delicious breakfasts on property in T. Cooks along with dinner the second night to properly celebrate our anniversary. We drove offsite and went to one of the many nearby restaurants for dinner on our first night there. I wrote a separate Yelp review on the delicious food and attentive staff we met while dining at the T. Cooks restaurant. We booked a Fine Hotels + Resorts offer that included early and late checkout, room upgrade, daily breakfast, credit which we used for a nice dinner, and welcome amenity. My daughter was in town from Japan and we decided to do a mother/daughter day at the Royal Palms Resort. We rented a cabana by the pool through ResortPass. There are several options to choose from. We booked a cabana. Including taxes and fees It was $176 for the day. Access was from 10 AM to 5 PM. The past not only included the cabana but an appetizer and a mini fridge filled with a variety of sodas and water. The pool was small, but did not feel overcrowded. I will say I would have given this review five stars, but they really needed more staff at 10 AM. They only had one girl working and they were about 30+ people at the pool. She was tending bar and waiting all guests poolside. This resort I believe is a historical landmark and I loved how intimate it was. If you get a chance to visit, I highly recommend. read more

This is a beautiful property. When I arrived, I was greeted with sparkling wine, and a woman walked me to my room and showed me around. It took me a little while to get acclimated to directions, but I figured it out. There is a bell person who will bring your bags to your room and pick them up when you're ready to leave. I enjoyed the time at the pool, but I usually went out about seven before it got too hot and one of the mornings there were no towels and another morning they were cleaning it. I'm confused by the reviews saying this resort is fabulous. Yes, the grounds are lovely - a converted Spanish style Hacienda. But two things make a high end property really great - smooth operations (ideally so smooth it seems like magic) and attention to detail. And while everyone who worked there was kind and friendly, Royal Palms fails at both. Driving in, there's no signage for valet or self park, you just have to guess what you are doing. After parking, I made my way to reception, dragging my rolling bag up a dozen steps (I'm sure there's a ramp somewhere, but again nothing was labeled, and the property is a bit of a maze). Although I'd checked in online, I had to go through the whole process again in person. However, front desk staff were lovely, offered me a glass of champagne, and personally guided me to my room. This is where everything really broke down. The key didn't work, so the staff person I was with went back to make a new one. While she was gone, I realized that the room I was being given was an accessible one, which I hadn't requested, and really didn't want, though this was never mentioned at my online OR in person check in. I thought it was very odd to issue such a room to me when the hotel wasn't that busy, especially as it was in one of the noisiest locations on the property (at the beginning of a hallway near the elevator). About ten minutes later she was back with a key that worked, only to open the door onto a room that wasn't ready for guests - bed unmade, visible trash, and mobility equipment still in the room. Away she went again, after promising a voucher for drinks at the hotel bar as an apology, and a different staff came to find me another ten minutes later. She guided me to a different room, where the key fortunately worked and the room was clean. But, she started talking about how it was an upgrade and she wasn't sure if the fee for that would be waived. I hadn't requested an upgrade, they were moving me to a room the hotel staff chose after the first room issue! But at that point I really wanted to get out of the heat (this was June in Phoenix after all) and put my bags down, so I went with it. After a short rest, I went down to T Cook's for some food (a great experience I'll review separately). The staff who had escorted me to room #2 found me at dinner, gave me another set of room keys (unsure why, when I already had 2 for a single person) and told me there wasn't a room upgrade charge after all. No mention of the promised drink voucher - instead she said she gave me a late checkout time, something else I hadn't asked for and didn't want/need since I had to leave in the early morning on my checkout day. When I came back, none of the four keys for my room worked. So back to reception I went for a new one. That happened four additional times during my two night stay, until keys didn't work at all and they sent someone to fix the door. The room was a good size, with a lovely view of a courtyard. But while clean, it could definitely use a refresh. Attention to detail broke down here also. The bed was made terribly, with the bottom sheet not even covering the bottom 6 inches of the mattress - I had to remove the covers and pull the sheet down so that my feet wouldn't be on the bare mattress. The pillows were ancient and lumpy; the second night I thought to request foam ones, and those at least were better. And although I pulled back the covers so that the exposed mattress was obvious in the morning, it wasn't fixed for my second night. Nor were the counters wiped down or any other cleaning done. This wasn't even close to the advertised luxury experience Royal Palms promotes. Every staff person I cam in contact with was very kind - even the men fixing my door at 9pm - but that doesn't make up for the mismanagement of this property. read more

Yeah another update...I do not recommend staying here, use Resort Pass or visit the restaurants and you'll have a wonderful time. I just discovered I'm missing my color shampoo, I have contacted them but at this point their response no longer matters. The day I checked out I was told that because of a concert in town they were not doing late check out, which to me means the cleaning crew would've cleaned my room but certainly by 2 weeks later. I was not contacted about my shampoo being there and here is where the issue lies...I have stayed in non "luxury resort" hotels, left things, in other states and have been contacted with what they would like me to do with the item. I do not feel like I stayed in a luxury resort, I did not receive anywhere that level of service. I was called a drunk, I was told things would happen that didn't, I had to wait for employees to get off personal calls to help me, the headboard is stained and apparently the cleaning crew thinks it's ok to steal. Definitely do not recommend a stay. read more

The best thing about this hotel are the beautiful, manicured, grounds. When you stay here, you can easily get lost maneuvering around the resort. The pool has pool service, if Christian is working, you will be well taken care of, if he's not working, you may never get waited on. I've stayed at this hotel a few times and each room has been different, some rooms are definitely nicer than others inside and some patio areas are also better than others. This time was my least favorite room. I was woken up slightly before 7am every morning by yard work being done right outside my door and it was a high traffic area for employees wheeling the laundry back and forth. I know that an insignificant complaint, but when you want to sleep in or relax with the patio door open, it became a nuisance. Also, I didn't think the food at the hotel was very good. The chef's burger had absolutely no flavor to it at all, the eggs Benedict was very salty and the charcuterie board was very small and basic. There is a gym on site, it's two stories and small but has all you need for a quick, good workout. read more

My wife and I have stayed here on 2 occasions 6 years apart. This property is amazing. We booked both times through American Express Fine Hotels and Resort. Front desk personnel is absolutely fabulous. Polite and very prompt. Super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Champagne on check in was a big plus for my wife. We stayed 2 nights in a Casita. The property is very dated so has a rustic feel. I personally love that. Very clean room. Good size and TV controlled by an app on your phone was great. Mini fridge in room was a huge plus. Small patio area to enjoy morning coffee from the kuerig with creamers in room. Huge plus for me. The pool area is fantastic. The spots will fill up but there was typically adequate shady spots to escape the June AZ sun. We went there each day. The cabana cafe is nice. Not a ton of options but enough. My wife loved the humus trio. Friendly staff. We returned one evening about 10 (it's open 24/7) which was a nice peaceful spot. Mix up bar has some good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Unfortunately the live music artist canceled which was a bummer for our date night. Tacos were good. Fried rice was unique but good and my wife enjoyed the drink selection and quality. T Cooks is awesome. Great service and high quality food. We had breakfast there each morning and it was amazing. Great food. Absolutely amazing service, a beautiful view from the patio and fair prices. The prime rib dinner for Father's Day was on point. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Fairly formal but still very welcoming. All in all this place is a great spot to go unwind. The landscape is second to none. Very cool history at the property and tons of amenities. A solid four star place. If Yelp would allow half stars, I would give it 4.5 stars. The staff are amazing! All are friendly and helpful. The surroundings of the resort are ever pretty when you are inside the resort. They have done a nice job making the various areas quite appealing. The pool is small but nice. The fitness center is also small but fine with enough of a variety of equipment. The location is quite good in terms of being close to Old Town Scottsdale. We didn't use it but they offer a shuttle that can take you there (and then you can Uber back). I think the parking and resort fees are a little ridiculous, given you are staying here and paying for the room. Not sure where you are supposed to park and what does a resort fee mean if you are on the premises? But I think that's how a lot of places are set up - just not my jam I guess. Overall though, good place to stay if you are planning to visit the area. read more

My fiancé and I stayed Thur-Mon last week and we really enjoyed our time there. While we both thought the property could use a little TLC, we thought our suite was beautiful (the soaking tub was great) and we loved having a fireplace in the bedroom. We had a beautiful view of the mountain and a really nice patio. We also really enjoyed taking a soak in the hot tub. I got a spa treatment while there, it was lovely and the aesthetician gave me some good advice for some products to consider. This is how your define LUXURIOUS I took my daughter here to celebrate her 17th birthday and what a treat it was for the both of us! Upon arrival, you are greeted by a valet who are friendly and know how to drive manual! (A+ in my book!) Checking in was a breeze and they offered me champagne ( and water for my minor ). The grounds of this resort is just breathtaking. It was once a mansion and you can see where the former dwelling places were in the main area (check-in & restaurant). They offer a history tour which I highly recommend too! There is a library tucked away in the conference area and I would highly recommend exploring the grounds. So many hidden nooks and gardens. Perfect for a secret rendezvous or just to meditate. The rooms are very luxurious with villas and suites. We stayed in a bungalow off the main pool area and had a private patio and fireplace. My husband and I chose Royal Palms because of its rich history and stunning Spanish Colonial architecture. Somehow however, we underestimated the extraordinary landscape. Old world mahogany doors lead visitors into a charming patio surrounding a beautiful fountain. Meandering paths lead guests past flower gardens, cactus gardens, and even fruit trees. Courtyards with charming patios and cozy seating Enjoy the reflection pool, or the serene pool located in front of a large outdoor fire place. The magnificent Camelback Mountain is the backdrop to all of the beauty that is Royal Palms, it doesn't get any better. I have to mention one more attribute, the staff. Every single staff member we came in contact with, showed us kindness. Some even remembering our names day after day. There was an unfortunate event that took place (at the cozy bar, MIX). Don (not his real name), was the live music on Saturday night. Don made a racist comment and the staff quickly intervened. Kay, the manager, took complete control and defused the tension. (Don ended his last session at the Royal Palms) Make a reservation, splurge on one of the suites if you can. Take morning walks, settle into one of the patios with a drink or a book. Relax by the pool and enjoy some tasty food and drinks. Visit MIX for happy hour and T Cooks for dinner. You'll be glad you did. read more

Wonderful Birthday Lunch! We've been visiting the Royal Palms for years... the grounds are gorgeous... Take time to stroll around & enjoy. For lunch... the Seafood Pasta was outstanding; the shrimp, mussels, & calamari literally melted in my mouth. Just incredible! Excellent food and service. Love the atmosphere & architecture of this incredible Hotel. Staff was more than friendly & kind. Elegant little birthday dessert surprise with a candle. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving buffet at the Royal Palms. The buffet had traditional thanksgiving dishes that included turkey, mash potatoes, ham, green beans, gravy etc. But they also had a kids buffet station and a huge brunch/breakfast station as well! We enjoyed all the items that were available. The servers were so friendly and were very accommodating. The ambiance was amazing. It gave us a sense that we were welcomed, and the Thanksgiving holiday was upon us. We will visit again when in the area. read more

Splendid resort and spa that's only 20 minutes away from the airport. From the beginning you are met with such excellent service. They check you in, take you to your room, and answer any questions. The king size room was large and offered much space with a hot tub, shower, and work desk. The amenities include the spa, 24/7 gym, pool, bar, and restaurant. It's like you never have to leave this location. Having a conference here is also a plus. Breakfast and lunch is provided, and the rooms are plentiful. Great experience, and I have no complaints. Royal Palms Resort was fabulous! First off, driving into the resort is magical. I absolutely love the landscape and the grounds are well kept. We visited the resort to check out Alvadora Spa, which I highly recommend. After our massages, we grabbed lunch & drinks at the pool - The vibe was unmatched! The pool side service was on point and the staff were friendly. I had the chicken caesar wrap & Fiancé had a burger with fries. Both of our meals were delicious. We washed them down with freshly pressed blood orange juice. We absolutely had an amazing experience today & look forward to checking out T. Cooks restaurant next time! read more

What should have started off as a wonderful staycation at the Royal Palms Resort instantly turned into unnecessary stress and quite frankly a terrible experience. My husband and I were gifted a gift certificate for a one night stay with breakfast for two. Not that this should matter, but we were very excited to use this given that it was our first vacation after having our 3 month baby and a 4 1/2 year-old. If you are a parent, then you know the time and energy that goes into getting your children, pets, and house taken care of even for just a one night stay. I called the hotel back in early January to book a reservation for February. After numerous phone tags on the phone, they were unable to do the reservation because their computer system was down and they were having issues with making the booking. I was then told to email made my reservation which had numerous email communications with the reservation team up into the point where the day before they were also confirming our expected time of arrival to see if they could try and accommodate our room being ready early, but if not, made sure that we could definitely enjoy any amenities like the pool as needed in addition to making our complementary breakfast reservation. The reservation team was not only given all the information, but also scanned our gift certificate, to them at the time of booking (which was a letter). This was also purchased through a charity event so technically we overpaid for the gift certificate, but rightly so because it goes towards a good cause. Again, none of this context should matter.... BUT we arrive at the hotel and the manager, Christina, was very rude & unprofessional to us. I forgot the physical gift certificate letter at home which is an hour and a half away from the hotel. However, not only did they have all the information but they also had a digital copy of this certificate and nowhere on it or was it ever mentioned to us that it was mandatory to bring in. Especially since they had the gift certificate number and literally all the information. She proceeded to tell us that they were not going to allow us to check in until they had the physical copy. Mind you with where we live that would have required an additional 4 Hour Drive in Total added to our day. we are still local and even offered to drop it by on Monday when my husband was back in the area because his office is right down the street. Christina's service was extremely disappointing as we stood their pleading back and forth hiw could we make this work. We felt very discriminated towards and to the point where when you look at this entire situation, there was nothing that was never not legitimate and yet when I even brought that up in conversation, I was treated back with well I don't know you all. A top notch resort like this should never talk to a guest that way, and it really made us feel low and that she was looking at us as if we were sketchy. We ended up having a relative of ours take time out of their day to not only drive to our house, but come drop the certificate off on the same day.We have stayed at many hotels at this level and would never expect service, especially at a resort like this. Also, coming from an event industry and my personal work history where I worked with hotels all the time this service was honestly appalling. Also while we know that they could not guarantee our room for an early check-in, they told us that rooms are ready by 4 PM, In general. We were able to go to the pool for a little bit as we waited, and we never received any communication/text from the team as we were told that we would once the room was available. It was not until 4:45/5PM that we walked back to check in because our relative arrived with the certificate and then find out - oh yes, your room has BEEN ready. And if things could not have settled down after that experience, we check out the following day and go to Christina to verify our invoice for our stay. The invoice looked all correct with no breakfast charge. However, we get an email only a few hours later with the breakfast charge on there even after she asked us if we had had the breakfast knowing that it came with the gift certificate. Now we are having to deal with the billing department that is corporate that takes a good week in general to not only hear back but then get Reimbursed. I cannot believe the 24 hours we got away from our kids and the first time since having our baby we go to a what should be a five star resort and were treated with such poor customer service. We would definitely not go back to this hotel and I sure hope that their manager Christina takes a course in communication and customer service to handle future situations like this with maturity, professionalism and KINDNESS. read more

Huge disappointment. Used to be an elegant jewel. Now it's crass. The property remains somewhat beautiful, but unkempt. Rooms are worn. Lounges around the pool mismatched, some don't even have cushions, which are stained and fraying. A resort charging these prices should have better upkeep and service. Most annoying? the non-stop techno beat music at the pool. Even at 9:30pm or 5:30am. Impossible to relax and have some quiet time. Look elsewhere unless you are here to party. read more

Our stay here was beyond our expectations! Every employee we encountered with above and beyond to make our stay one to remember! The area is beautiful and everything here is stunning. I literally felt like I had left Arizona and was transported somewhere else. We spent most of our time at the pool and it was so peaceful. The employee manning the bar area at the pool was really nice! He was super friendly and attentive. It was 110 degrees out and he still went above and beyond with his great customer service. There are pool towels available for use and plenty of lounge chairs to lay on. Will definitely have another staycation here in the future! read more

Just back from a couple of nights here and wanted to drop a quick review. The property is really quite charming with beautiful architecture and the grounds are lovely. The service was great and everyone we encountered was professional and friendly. It was really nice to be greeted with a cold sparkling wine upon arrival. Property location was excellent. We enjoyed a nice upgrade and our room was absolutely fine with a sweet little patio which we enjoyed in the evenings. The single pool felt a bit too small for the property. We loved it our first evening there as it had been a boiling hot day and it was great to cool off after dinner but the next morning it was packed with people, noisy and would have been hard to find loungers at. We didn't even try to find a spot. The bar and restaurant are really lacking. The menu was limited, uninspired and the food preparation was underwhelming except for the chocolate pistachio dessert bar which was excellent. If I was to stay again, I would definitely eat elsewhere. We did enjoy really attentive and friendly service in both the bar and the restaurant. The spa was disappointing to say the least. Very limited facilities with just a couple of showers and a steam room. I could have lived with that if the massage I got was amazing but it was actually one of the worst I've ever had. The masseuse was very nice but she appeared to lack any real technique or rhythm. I kept waiting for it to get better but, honestly, it felt like I'd asked a distractible five year old for a massage. I'm not really sure how we managed to spend 100 minutes together. It was not an inexpensive treatment and I was expecting an excellent massage for that cost. Totally disappointing! We enjoyed ourselves at this beautiful resort but I actually think my hubby and I were just happy to be away together for a few days and that's what made it great. I feel like if they sorted the dining options and the spa out, it would be a really special little place to stay and we would enjoy going back. read more
