Grant sold the business last year and the new owners are from a dealership service department. They're nice enough guys, but the pricing is now inflated and interacting with them feels like talking to a dealership service department. It's hard to take over an existing business and maintain a similar level of customer expectations - I get it. But ProTech was a respected shop because it *wasn't* a dealership. Grant was honest and direct and charged fair prices. Now I need to find another shop. Dammit. read more

I was a customer of Grant's for years, and the reviews are all true that he was one of the few honest mechanics in the city. Took my cars into the shop under the new ownership and was pleasantly surprised that the level of honesty and lack of upselling/grifting has remained. I'll revisit and bump this up to five stars if the same level of trust continues, but as of now I'm quite happy that the new owners seems to hold the same long-term view on customer service that Grant did. read more

Took my car in this weekend and Eric was very honest, friendly & professional. My brakes were making a noise and I thought it was time to replace the pads, but he informed me that they were roughly 60% used and that I should still get quite some use out of them. He could have lied and replaced them and charged me for it all, but he did the right thing and made the decision to not make a quick buck. read more

Scottsdale ProTech is under new ownership and is not the same as it used to be. The people were polite and we got service in 24 hours but the price was way too high. In looking at the bill after paying, we were charged for diagnosing the problem and was not told of that extra charge. We were told a price that was to include all and then paid more because they added taxes and fees onto that price. Will not be returning. read more

I have intended to write a review on this business for several months. In the meantime, I have had an additional couple of issues with vehicle's. I have 4 vehicles to maintain with my kids. So every costly repair is obviously unexpected and a little painful. I can't say enough nice things about Grant. He is a genuinely good man. Honest and direct. You may not like what he says or how he delivers the news, but you aren't going to a mechanic to make new friends. If you are, well, thats another issue! lol. Grant (owner) & Ryan (owner's son) are straight-up, honest-as-the-day-is-long guys that tell you what needs to be fixed, what doesn't, and when you can just let it ride... isn't that what everyone's looking for in auto repair? Just South of Costco in the Scottsdale Airpark (where many overpriced auto shops reside), this place is a breath of fresh air. Grant will suggest things over the phone that may prevent you from even coming in, or take the time to clearly explain your problem. Plus you'll know what it's gonna cost before you leave the keys. These are good Christian business guys who walk the walk, and it shows. They're open late during the week (5:30 or 6) and even Saturday til 2pm. After going to other auto repair shops where they talk down to you or charge a crazy high price for something that doesn't need to be done, we were super lucky to find Grant's business.
