Been wanting to visit the Scotty Cameron store for months to get a new grip for my putter. Friends have told me they install the grips onsite. The store opens at 10am on Saturdays and I got there a quarter past 10. There was a waitlist to get in and it took about 35-40 min. Walked into the store greeted by a sale associate who pointed location of the grips and walk away. I believe he was supposed to show me around and help out with my needs, but disappeared. I ended up getting a grip and a head cover. They mentioned earlier that they wouldn't be able to install my grip which was disappointing because I had to make a trip to another store to install my grip. read more

Love this place. On my path to the vault which I now am eligible for! Bought moto, waited a year, bought CT, next visit vault access to GSS's and Hand-stamped putters. Awesome selection of bags, HCs, apparel, grips, bag tags, ball markers and glassware. Us people who are on the CT path and vault access do show up extremely early as you'll have full selection of generally 8 CTs. I arrived at 815am and was second in line. Horrible service! I would say the gallery is a high end type of golf boutique that sells nice equipment, gear and clothing. However since Covid they continue to let customers wait outside and basically take a number. We'll get to you when we get to you. I have also noticed that the Scotty annual membership is not appealing anymore. They must have let go their headcover designer/s because for the last couple of years they have not produced the exclusive, beautiful headcovers that they used to offer. Sorry for providing my honest opinion. I hope that someday they let their loyal customers enter the shop, just like they did before Covid. read more

Cool spot if you are into Golf. The store is small but it sounds like they completely flip their inventory every month or so, so everything in the store is new and different. I really like the concept, and if you are a golfer or collector then you'll be in heaven. We've also been to the location in Japan a couple of times, but that one is extremely difficult (and expensive) to get to (long train, then long taxi). I came right at 10AM and there was already a line of folks but I don't think the line was warranted as there wasn't that much people. Also did not appreciate getting skipped to be let in, but besides that the staff inside were really nice and helpful. They give you a sheet and golf pencil to pre-mark the items you'd want, while you're waiting, but I think it's better just to go inside and pick (but note that apparently not everything inside is for sale, some are only for display). read more

The shop is closed to customers because they are turning it into a museum, displaying memorabilia, thus no customers are allowed inside except for those who have an appointment. Nowhere on their website stated that. Whatever they are selling in store are displayed at the front around the shop. Pick up a piece of order paper and pencil at the front, walk a round outside the store, and put your choice on the order paper. The order paper wasn't done smartly, and lack of info. Was in La Jolla between Christmas and New Year's and decided to swing by. It was my first time there and had heard stories about the wait. Hours were limited because of the holiday week. They opened at 10:00 and I arrived around 11:45. They have a check in system and will message you when it's your turn. They give you about 5 minutes to check in once they message you, so you have to stay close by. I was 40th on the list and was told I'd likely get in around 3:00. Decided to chance it as they are closed an hour for lunch. Grabbed lunch and came back around 2:00 to find out I was now 10th. It's common for people to check in and no show. I ended up getting in around 2:30. The gentleman greeting everyone at the door was amazingly helpful. Was allowed to browse the entire store without feeling like someone was hovering over me. They also had plenty of MOTO putters available for purchase. Great experience. I'd highly recommend. Definitely will be back, but closer to opening the next time. read more

Wanted to go check out the gallery as an avid golfer and fan of the sport. You have to "window shop" and get on a waiting list. When I went inside to get "help" or find out what the store was all about, was totally given the impression we were wasting the employees time. "We are an international shopping destination and people wait in line for hours to shop here." Puke. They're putters for crying out loud. The people working in the store did not make them but sure did behave like they created them. Did not feel welcomed. Was planning on buying some wearables but after we were treated like second class citizens decided to spend my money on the Taylor made online store. Really disappointed. Scotty-Fanatics should come visit, but with any Scotty putter comes a hefty price tag. Most of the items in the gallery are expensive. We know that. If you're using the Ferrari of putters, things will be expensive. The gallery has tons of speciality and limited edition head covers for your mallet, blade, mid-mallet Scotty's. Most of them price at $75+ though. So yes, expensive but limited edition. I missed out of their donkey limited edition head cover. :( The gallery also has apparel, caps, golf towels ($29 for golf towels), limited edition Scotty putters ($600 to $1000), and they have a full on fitting area. If you bring in your putter, they can change out of your grip and weights as well. $37 for a new grip installed and the weights are like $20-22 a piece! Ouch! I've gotten two head covers from the gallery for my Fastback 2 and my Futura 5S. Also got my Fastback 2 grip changed out. It's expensive stuff but if you're a fan, it's worth a stop in. The young lady working in house is super cool. I think she's the only gal in there working and helping out. Free parking, no freebies, credit card okay. AND NO PICTURES inside which sucks because you can't share the head cover pics with friends. I also like in LA so I don't travel down too often. My brother who lives in Vista drops in and buys stuff for me. Please don't give him a hard time, he doesn't look like a golfer!! We do spend the $ though! LOL! read more

I made the stop to the golf gallery on a Saturday morning and was greeted by a team member who explained the process of literally window shopping of things the gallery has for sale besides putter fittings. I did walk around the outside and found several items that a Scotty Cameron fan or golf fan would like. Once done I was invited to go inside and purchase anything I saw along with seeing putter head covers that were not in the window. Inside I was not disturbed unless I asked for help and that was really nice. The items I wanted were on display and seeing a wall of head covers was fun. In all my experience was pleasant and had an enjoyable experience all be it not what I was expecting but the staff I dealt with were all friendly and helpful. read more

Is having only one fairly ugly t shirt only available in small or medium up to your standards? How much effort goes into this window shopping model you have been running for over two years? Is this just a way to sell through unpopular items and sizes by hoping your fans feel they MUST make a purchase after going so out of the way to visit your store? Wouldn't it be considerate to post online what you are going to offer each day in your windows ahead of time? If so, many people do you think would actually show up? As someone who depends so much on loyalty it it wise having your name associated with such a strange and miserable shopping experience? I flew out to San Diego a few weeks ago for great golf and shopping at the gallery. What an amazing experience. I got way more than I deserved. The staff was amazing to work with. They had plenty of product in the windows and before checking out I was able to go inside and check out the amazing displays they have. It's like walking into a museum. I've been collecting Scotty Cameron product since 1996 and in all the years this was the icing on the cake. I went home with the putter I wanted and a few other cool items to game. I had been struggling a bit with my putting after a long layoff and wanted to get a fitting to check if something was off with my setup or technique. I was able to schedule a fitting at the Scotty Cameron Gallery pretty easily online and had a great experience with my fitter Michael. We talked through my current putter, what I'm feeling with current putting performance, and then started hitting some putts on the slow mo camera to see what was going on. It was very apparent my current fit was too long causing the toe to be way upright. After moving to the correct length I was able to try all the variety of putters currently offered along with all the grip options and Michael pointed out a slight technique adjustment to get my forearms more aligned which helped immensely. We narrowed it down and got my specs and preferences identified. They do have some putters available onsite and I was presented 4 that could fit my specs and picked out an amazing moto Newport with single site dot. While waiting for some grip adjustment on the putter, I was able to shop around the store and every other associate was super friendly and helpful if I had any questions. Was a great customized experience and definitely recommend to anyone interested in getting fit. read more

We couldn't go in the store. 7 guys came out at 10am. They provide an order sheet like at a sushi restaurant. People line up. They don't have anything you can buy. They don't even have their stock putters. That place is a joke that has absolutely ZERO soul and has no heart in its manufacturing and process. They don't give a fu** about golf or providing anything to the people who use their tools for their intended purpose. They've realized that certain people are making more money on their putters than they are so they then treat everybody as if everybody is reselling. It's absolutely terrible business and a terrible customer experience. Scotty Cameron should be ashamed to have his name associated with this shop.
