My go to when it's cold out and need activities for the kids . No real cons just wish they had locker rentals. But to make it short and sweet it's about 20-30 dollars ( sorry I can't remember and I was just there ) . A little cheaper for toddlers. It's a Huge playscape for kids. 2 different levels. With enough to keep. Them running around for hours. They also have a area where most of the kids are playing soccer . They offer a kid area but my 2 year old is unimpressed and wants to play with the big kids which is what I like the most she's not restricted. if you're looking for an indoor play place to get your kid's energy out, here's the place. there are so many different elements inside for the kids to play and a cute little cafe/snack bar as well. only reason why this isnt getting a full 5 stars - the parking here really stinks so just be warned. and if the weather is bad, its going to be SUPER crowded. It was a bit crazy the day we went. Also, i'm not sure why they even charge for adults. its one adult free with each paying kid, but since my youngest was free, we had to pay for an additional adult who was basically just holding the baby. read more

I did my research before going to Scramble and was quite disappointed with our experience. There was nowhere to park. The line inside was about 30 min long and zig zagged 4 times. May you parent left the line but I drove all the way to get there so I was determined... The line caused several meltdowns for my 16 month old and I was miserable with a toddler. Toddler area is ok, but each time a parent tries to help their child other kids are almost stuck because the area is just not that big. It felt very overcrowded. I honestly think the place was well beyond its capacity when we visited. The big kids zone was just horrific. There are plenty of things toddlers would want to explore there but there are areas where toddlers can get in but adults cannot, in addition in some areas (like the big fun balls) where older kids play so rough they can cause major injuries to younger kids. I had to evacuate mine once I felt how heavy those balls are. And the back area where kids can play ball, basically older kids monopolized all balls, there were young children there and they were hitting the balls so hard I was just afraid that it could hit my child. It was a horrific experience from the beginning to end. They could improve by following capacity standards, having a separate line for kids under 2, and maybe selling online for specific time slots... it could be more fun if your kids are 4 and up. Just had a birthday party for a 7 year old! Our party host, Marlon, went above and beyond his duties and was the glue that kept 25 + kids organized in a large facility. We've stopped by Scramble a couple times on the weekends and have really enjoyed it. Who doesn't love a giant funhouse with an area for the parents to relax nearby?! We recently had my daughter's 3rd birthday party there and it was a HIT! There were 15 kids plus adults and everyone couldn't stop talking about what a terrific party place it was. The owner and his staff were extremely attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was top notch, the fruit, veggie & chip platters weren't store bought, more like yummy gourmet platters that we're delicious. We were shocked at how good the pizza was. The owner mentioned it's a local pizza place in Alexandria, yum! The cupcakes were exactly what we ordered. And, the best part was they boxed up the leftovers for us and took care of cleaning everything. Well worth the price!! read more

With this terrible weather, I've become a devotee of Arlington/Alexandria indoor playspaces for my 2.5 year old to burn off some energy. There is a lot to like about Scramble, but I think it misses the mark for the 2ish-4ish crowd. There is an awesome imagination play area with soft toys and blocks, but it seems much better suited for early walkers than rough-and-tumble toddlers. The big main play area seems awesome, with trivia on the walls, giant slides, rope swings, etc, but is better suited for bigger kids. You cannot see into the setup from the outside, which means you have to crawl and climb through with your toddler if you want to be able to keep an eye on them (and with all the bigger kids running around / small places to get lost/stuck/scared, it's pretty necessary for this age group). It's not an easy fit for an adult (especially a pregnant adult, although there were plenty of us trying!). I think I will like this place a lot more when my son is a little older and can roam the main area on his own. It was very clean, seemed well run (although CROWDED - how many kids do they let in at a time??), and is undoubtedly a welcome addition for certain age groups. read more

My daughter (4 yo) played for three hours today and still didn't want to leave! She really enjoyed all of the different play structures. Although it was very busy, it still felt like there was enough space for both children and adults. I appreciated how clean the facilities were, that they had staff patrolling the area, and the different options in the concessions area. I did think it was a little on the pricey side and also worried about the security of the gate and that they don't have any sort of system in place to ensure kids are leaving with their parents and not a random adult. This place was amazing!! My 17 month old son wore himself out having so much fun. And I have to admit, chasing him through the obstacle courses, riding down slides together...I had a blast too! Very polite and engaged staff. Clean facility. Love the business model: flat rate for the day, no "classes" or time slots to sign up for and you can leave/come back freely to accommodate a quick nap or heading home for lunch. There is a little cafe inside with snacks and drinks for kids and parents alike. After our first visit today we are hooked! read more

This place is great for gross motor play, it does not have fine motor activities for the toddlers, if they did it would really beat out the competition. That is why I give it four stars. I've gone a handful of times but always during the day and non-peak hours. The soft playground equipment is very clean and the owner and staff have always been very nice and accommodating. If you compare it to busybees off of the 50, it's cheaper to go to scramble. It's also a huge place with a soccer section in the back. I like that they have a consessions stand which makes it easy to relax and have snacks and tea while your little ones play. Sometimes they have staff that help supervise and play soccer with your little ones. If you have bigger kids they can go into the big obstacle course. It's two stories high. If your kids can't control themselves, you might have to go in there with them because it is hard to see them as there are many "rooms" in the big obstacle course. read more

My son has been here a few times and loves it. We've mostly been here on the weekends and on Friday. He's high energy so I love the fact he can run around and play soccer. We did visit on a Friday during the day. It seems that the children during the day are very territorial of play equipment that is for everyone. I had a teaching encounter were I had to inform a staff member between a child being social vs. children that are territorial in a space that's for EVERYONE. I don't expect much from the staff in the terms of child psychology as they are barley out of there teens. Staff also seems to be more lazed during the weekday as well. I am looking forward to the other competition coming in the next few months with the bounce house and trampoline park. $20 is steep for Saturday, even if it's all day. read more

My son loves this place! The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. My son is 22 months and I have a 3 month old. I typically wear my 3 month old and follow my /2 month around. It works well! We normally go around 9:30 or 10 til 11:30. We haven't ever been in the afternoon. It does get really busy but I just try to choose the days that we go wisely. My son loves the colors and the slides. He is completely worn out when we leave. We signed up for the year membership and plan to go at least 1-2 per week. read more

Today I happened to be behind a VERY rude and disrespectful lady, I have to say the young lady at the register handles the situation well. Keep her composure and apologize repeatedly. We had a very disappointing experience for my daughter's 5th birthday this past weekend. After speaking with associates working at the facility and ensuring that we would not be charged for guests merely sitting while their children played at the party (the wording on the site is invited guests up to 30), we were expected to pay for 15 extra guests when leaving the party for a total of $150! After I explained that I had called and asked that specific question and was told it was no problem, the owner/manager continually told me that I "signed a contract" and I should never have called to ask questions but should have emailed instead. The women I spoke to throughout the week both said this was an issue they have encountered before and that they have told the owner to clarify the wording on the website. This owner/manager is clearly aware of the misinterpretation but still tries to squeak out extra money for adults who are not playing, eating or doing anything but supervising their children. Essentially the party is for 15 children and their parents who are staying to watch them in a large and unsupervised space. He is encouraging parents of the "invited guests," in our case 4 and 5 year olds, to drop off their child so they don't get charged. In essence, this is asking for multiple children to be unattended by their own guardians which then becomes a safety and security issue for such a large location. The owner was rude, condensing and even though he was 5 feet away when his associate first told me of the up charges he did not even turn around and acknowledge the situation until we asked him to come over. This is not the type of professionalism you would expect from a new shop owner or a boss of multiple young employees. We would never recommend this location or facility and I expect the high charges, poor customer service and other one star reviews will make it very difficult for him to run a successful business. read more

We were excited to try Scramble for the first time as an indoor playground alternative for our very active son (3 yo) to burn some energy for a few hours before lunch and naptime. From the start, we were disappointed for a number of reasons. On a Saturday morning at 10:30 AM, the place was packed, as their "no reservation" policy does not limit the number of children who enter. My girlfriend asked what max capacity was and they replied, "375," which in my view, should have been about 50 kids at one time. Unfortunately, what this translated to was complete chaos, with kids of varying ages running everywhere, with little close supervision from parents and far too few staff members. My husband and I took turns chasing my son around the large play structure but he managed to get away from us 2 times which was really stressful, and not worth the hassle. The first time we found our son with a bloody nose and crying hysterically. After the second time, we decided it wasn't worth the perceived "fun" he was having so we left. I'm not sure how parents with multiple kids would manage to keep eyes on them at this place during peak hours. read more

I usually take my son there every Sunday (he is 21 months) and we love it. There is a lot of places to play and explore. He comes home exhausted and ready for a nap! However this Sunday was horrible. The "manager" was over 40 minutes late - so they didn't open till 9:40...and then they proceeded to make everyone wait in line to pay! When I asked why they didn't just let people in that were waiting, she said they were told to charge regardless of the wait. Then, about 39 minutes later an employee came over and told me I was not allowed to eat outside food. Literally everyone around me has brought food and I personally have been doing so for over a year. I asked why, and he said that was the rules. I am so disappointed in the service this time and making it unpleasant - that I won't be back. To many alternative places, this one is off the list. I will find somewhere else for his birthday party in a couple months. read more

Just hosted my son's 2nd birthday party there. Kids in attendance ranged from crawlers to 8 years old! Everyone had a great time (including parents). If you are hosting a party, try to request Marlon as your host. He is incredible. Took care of EVERYTHING including making sure the kids had fun. He seemed to know how to handle each of the kids from the outgoing ones to the super shy ones. By the end of the party, he was everyone's best friend. That really took the pressure off of my husband and I so we could enjoy ourselves and catch-up with fellow parents. Also a big shout out to Rose, who is their party coordinator. I'm sure she helps organize dozens of parties each weekend, but I still felt like she gave me so much attention and time. She was really responsive and so helpful. Rose went beyond the call of duty! Scramble has a great team and we are already thinking about hosting next year's party there! read more
