If you're looking for a diner and you're in the neighborhood this place is as good as any. They offer your standard diner fare, with a couple of extras; for example a veggie burger and the avocado toast (which I ordered) was a little different with the addition of sunny side up eggs, radishes and hot sauce. My avocado toast was presented nicely and tasted good, maybe could've used more of the hot sauce. My partner's eggs were good and came with a small side of toast. My waiter was good. He came right away with the offer of drinks and he was attentive throughout. The place was clean if not a little dated (the decor). Seating and parking is plentiful. read more

I met a couple of friends here for lunch on a weekday. There was no wait to be seated, but we waited a very long time to place our orders, and then a verrrrry long time to receive our food. One of the three meals was cold and had to be sent back. I ordered fruit in lieu of potatoes; the melon was hard as a rock. We waited a considerable amount of time to get boxes for leftovers and the check. Of course they said they were short handed. Btw, they add a surcharge for using a credit card. It was on the bill before they even knew if we were paying with credit or cash. My friend had used the ladies room when she first got there and had to call the restaurant (luckily she had her phone with her) because she was locked in the stall. An employee had to climb in to remove the lock. Apparently, this was a known issue, because when we mentioned it to the server, she knew exactly which stall it was. We mentioned to the manager, and then the owner, that we were surprised that the restaurant didn't see fit to even buy her a cup of coffee. Both men were defensive, dismissive and fairly agitated that we would suggest such a thing. I'd rather go to Egg Harbor ten minutes away. read more

If you're eggs Benedict guy... I'd give this Eggs Benedict Florentine a 6/10. Eggs were just a bit too well done, and barely any hollandaise sauce. Flavor is almost there, but c'mon hollandaise sauce needs to be smothered. Service was good though. read more

Loved this restaurant. This is a must try! The food and service was amazing. We had their waffle and stuffed French toast sandwiches. Also, loved the different spices my muffins with poached eggs had. So good! The atmosphere is quite nice and the service very good. They did a great job with decorations and designs of their interior. The place is huge and decent. We will definitely go back and recommend this breakfast / lunch restaurant. Scrambled has become one of my go-to breakfast spots on a Saturday or Sunday morning. They have a large dining room that can accommodate a busy crowd - I've never had to wait to be seated more than 5 minutes (even on a holiday weekend). My favorite dish is the Fire House Skillet, it comes with a choice of toast or pancakes. The portion is a good size, I normally have half the plate left to bring home for a later snack! Every time I come I consider getting another dish (because their menu is pretty extensive) but I always settle on what I know I like best! The staff are friendly and attentive. They work well as a team. I would recommend Scrambled to anyone in the Northbrook, Deerfield, Highland Park area trying to get a solid sit-down breakfast. This place could be better but the food is just plain meh. It's always seems busy and service is efficient like most Greek owned establishments. (I'm guessing this as it's attached to a Greek place next door) . So most their breakfast stuff comes with hash browns and if a place makes them crappy then it's down hill from there. This is where I'll start: So I ordered hash browns with onion and when they came with my breakfast they plopped these large greasy pieces of semi-cooked onions and it was just plain gross. Most places when you order hash browns with onions it's actually incorporated in the hash. Not here. Yuck, I pushed them to the side. I got eggs over medium which were perfectly cooked and 3 large sausage links which were also good. You. Can choose either pancakes or toast. I chose toast this time. Coffee was weak and tasted watered down. All and all breakfast was ok but I just couldn't get over the yucky onions! This was the second time here and I don't think I'll try a 3rd time there's too many other breakfast places to go to. read more

When I got out of the car, in the parking lot all I could smell was grease. And it was NOT pleasant. We went in the first month they opened. There were 3 adults and a toddler. The service was slow, the a lot of all our food was left on our plates because it just wasn't that great tasting. Just left brunch. I'll start with the positives : - Hostess ladies were extremely nice. Since it's Father's Day and a Sunday, there were a lot of people waiting for tables but the hostesses were organized, extremely friendly, and gave a great first impression for the restaurant - interior is open and bright, felt cozy - Greek omelet and skirt steak skillets were both yummy! Negatives : - Greek omelet had large chunks of egg shells... not the crunch I was expecting - our waiter was extremely slow, distracted, and to be frank, didn't care to provide good service. Had to ask him for ketchup a few times before I was able to grab one of the hostesses walking by and tell her instead. My side order of the pancakes which came with the omelet never came out. When I had told the waiter about it near the end of the meal, he said he can bring it out now which I refused. When I told him about the egg shells in the omelet he kind of stayed quiet, and I didn't want to make a big deal about it because the omelet was delicious otherwise, so I told him it's okay and to just let the cooks know. It would've been nice if he offered something else or to take the omelet off the check, especially since I didn't even get the full meal w the pancakes but.. nothing. He just said okay and walked away. We know it's not his fault that there were shells in the food but his response to it and the overall inattentiveness and carelessness really ruined our thought of the place, which we were pretty excited about since it's new and very close to home. read more

Glad I finally tried this new breakfast spot! So good! We went with the omelettes and wow they are chocked full of ingredients! Very fresh veggies and the ham was nice and tender. The potatoes were great, pieces and smashed half pieces. What a great touch of the added little salad! Who would've thought a salad would give our breakfast that little somethin' somethin'. Also got fresh squeezed OJ I got the pancakes but unfortunately they weren't cooked all the way. It was still raw in the middle. The reason for one star off is the online ordering system. No where does it say that the omelettes comes with potatoes and the side salad. We each ordered a side of potatoes not knowing it came with. It was very obvious we ordered for only two people (2 omelettes, w juices, 2 potatoes) maybe a phone call might have been nice to make sure we wanted all those potatoes. Wonderful breakfast and brunch place, with delicious food, variety of choices and excellent wait staff. It's a friendly atmosphere and always seems to be well enough staffed to accommodate even the busiest times with prompt service. Food is delicious and always served hot. I have been going there for many years and is one of two restaurants I relied on during Covid to get delicious food with generous portions brought out to my car at the appointed time. Our server must have had too many tables, waited six to seven minutes to get the check, see was going from table to table but never stopped by ours to finish up. Had the BLT was good but a little dry, also had the chicken avocado which was reported to be very good. I had the breakfast potatoes instead of fries, should have gone with the fries. I've dined at Scrambled before and always had a great experience. Food, service and atmosphere. Today I was very disappointed. I ordered a vege burger (which was very good). There was a side choice and a soup. Soup choices were chicken rice or chicken tortilla. No substitutions allowed, not even vegetables or a side salad. To put it in simple terms the vegetarian ordering the vegetarian meal gets a side choice of chicken or chicken. Something did not feel right about this. The place is clean and the staff was friendly, but the food was not good. First, our server got our order wrong. We ordered a veggie omelet, and the server didn't check and brought an omelet with meat. Okay, that's fine as our server apologized and promised to bring out the correct one. What was unacceptable was that the new omelet had EGGSHELL CRACKS inside so we didn't eat much. It seems like they hurried a lot and didn't even do a quality check. You would think they would take care of your food, especially when they made the mistake... Also, we ordered fruits on the side, and the main fruit was CANNED PEACHES. Canned peaches are not fruit, buy some real fruits to serve for people like us who want to eat healthy food, not sugar-saturated artificial fruits. I rather go to Panera across. I wanted to give them 2.5 stars but rounded up to 3. This was our first time and I should say it was carry out. We got the basics, pancakes, bacon, breakfast potatoes and eggs (we also ordered toast which they forgot to pack). To be completely honest, the food was mediocre at best. The eggs ordered as over easy were excellent, it quickly went downhill from there. The pancakes were dense and had zero taste. I mean ZERO. We had to use half a bottle of syrup to make them edible. The potatoes looked burnt but oddly tasted like mush. They were also very oily and had an odd after-taste-- almost seemed like leftover potatoes??? The bacon was very crispy as requested, but had little taste and was not at all savory. Overall, very disappointing in terms of taste (or lack of it). The inside of the restaurant did look cheerful and cozy, so that may make the overall experience a bit better for those who dine in. But can't say I would order this food again. read more

Great new spot next to Dimitri's and owned and operated by the same family. I had the Super Green omelette with basil, spinach, mushrooms and Swiss cheese that came with roasted red potatoes and an my choice of toast, an English muffin. Last but not least the omelettes come with a small mixed green salad and the light vinaigrette was delicious. The omelette was amazingly fresh with a perfect amount of cheese. So many places have put gobs of cheese that overpowers the other ingredients. lMy boyfriend had the Build Your Own omelette with bacon, sausage and mozzarella cheese. He loved it. The service was fantastic and the decor is modern. It was a bit loud but there is a quieter area located by the windows that we will ask to be seated in next time. They also serve lunch with a long list of salads. We're looking forward to returning for lunch soon! read more

We had breakfast and it wasn't great. Let's start with the positives. The decor was pleasant. The service was good. Lots and parking. The fountain drinks were a perfect mix - which is important to a dedicated Diet Coke drinker. The negatives - the potato pancakes were inedible. Too much flour and under cooked. The skirt steak skillet just tasted off. The woman's bathroom was not very clean. My husband liked his BLT Benedict, but not enough to return. The restaurant has a lot of potential.
