I didn't know you needed to make a breakfast reservation for Father's Day. I wrongfully assumed that all the dads would be on the golf course, or the pickle ball court, during breakfast. All of our breakfast standbys seemed to be full, and we just happened upon Chipy Cafe. It's a small restaurant, so we sat outside, and the weather was hot, sunny and perfect. I ordered the Italian Bread Bowl and I loved it. It was a hollowed out bread, filled with tomatoes, spinach, onions, mozzarella, with over easy eggs on top. They grilled the bread, and they sliced off the top and grilled that too. I thought it was excellent (I usually don't eat too much bread). My companions liked their breakfasts ok, but I loved mine. I'll go back again!

Very nice counter with menu to order.

Nice spot for brunch. It is surrounded by many office building therefore I think it's popular amongst locals. The vibe is like a small cozy everyday coffee go to place. We had pancakes, egg on the traditional bread. The owner seems like a nice and friendly person. Staff members were good as well. Food was nice.

I was craving a BLT and this place did not disappoint. I also had the split pea soup which was a very large serving and it was the best Ive had. Split pea can be tough to get just right but this place did it. If I were a local this would be on my go-to!

Chipy Cafe is a nice little restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch meals. They have a nice menu with generally reasonably priced items. Located in the City Park shopping plaza in Lincolnshire, Chipy Cafe is a good, no-frills, no-gimmick place to go for brunch, which is what I went for. It's like mom & pop type establishment, which I believe is run by a husband-wife duo. When we got here, we were promptly seated and provided with the menus. The restaurant was semi-busy between patrons dining in and those doing carry-out. We were asked if we're ready to order promptly as well. I ordered the kids two-by-two from the kids' menu, which had two eggs done your way and either two bacon strips and two sausage links (no pancakes) for $7.25 which I thought was a bit high in price for a Kids dish by the virtue of not having pancakes included. I also ordered hot chocolate and a Mexican omlete with hash browns and regular buttermilk pancakes. My omlete had chorizo, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and Monterey Jack cheese. The food was good. My kid and I enjoyed our meal. The service was nice and prompt. The menu pricing is pretty reasonable. The restaurant got more busy after we got there which is good. I recommend checking out Chipy's was delicious breakfast/ lunch food options.

Chipy Cafe is the cutest little place to relax and have a nice comforting meal. Quiet, super clean, and excellent service by the owner Michael and his staff. My friend and I were tired of most of the other places in the area and decided to give this place a try. So glad we did. It's a unique hidden gem of a place as it only has around 12 tables. It's relaxing, quiet and casual. It's nicely decorated and the menu has a good variety of items in every category even for the pickiest eaters or people on diets. All the food was made to order, super fresh and delicious. My quesadillas was piping hot and generously filled accompanied by a large container of pico de gallo sauce and fresh cut fruit in place of fries! Everyone else's food look scrumptious too! We both agreed this is going to be our new "go to" meetup spot! We both loved this place. Prices are decent and quality is king here!

Steak and Eggs - requested rare, but was cooked well-done and very tough.

We ordered Chipy for breakfast a few more times since my last review. Each time there seems to be something wrong with my order, but it's been much more consistent than previously. For example, my Benedict has the spinach and tomato as promised, BUT they forgot to include my side item altogether (and no it was not included separately in another container - just not included at all). Also, their avocado toast is super yummy and under $10 (at the time of writing this review). Chipy is delicious, but you need to double check your orders. Hoping my next order will be a 5 star.

    California omelet
    Jennifer H.

I think the omelet was as big as my head :D Seriously, the 4-egg California omelet took over about half my plate and was oh so delicious. I chose fruit rather than potatoes and whole wheat bread. I only made it through about half of my late breakfast. I just happened to be in the area and was craving a healthy (and late in the morning) place and just happened to find Chipy Cafe. It's a small spot with a splattering of tables. But definitely worth it! And I see they also do a good amount of take-out so you can always order and go.

5 stars for the mushroom soup! Cute place with only 10 small tables..mostly dueces. My husband had a chopped salad with blue cheese dressing. There was a puddle of water in the bottom of the salad bowl. Like...drain the water before you serve a salad!? I had one of the worst reuben sandwiches ever! Sooo disappointed. The meat was like that Buddig crap. Not much cheese.. and no horseradish?? Who serves corned beef without horseradish?? fries were cooked in old oil... If in the neighborhood again, we would go somewhere else...

When you pull up to the plaza you would think anything of the restaurant but when you go inside it's a fun colorful experience. When we were seated we were brought waters and menus. We took some time to look at the menus but ultimately took our server's suggestions on drinks. I ended up having a virgin Rose Colored Glasses drink and absolutely loved it. The drinks were large and I felt they were worth the price. My husband got an old fashioned. To start we got the cheese curds, and when I tell you these cheese curds still live rent free in my mind I kid you not. They were so good, the cheese was battered in a tempura batter with a truffle cream sauce and it made for such an incredible dish! For our entrees we got the pork chop with the brown butter sauces and bavette with a red wine reduction. The pork chop was great with the brown butter you just gotta make sure you mix it up, and the red wine was a bit too salty for me but it was okay because I ended up loving the steak by itself! For our sides we got the grilled zucchini under the snacks option instead of the sides option because I wanted all the fixings. It was a great choice! The fixings really made and I could eat a plate of that and just be happy (with the cheese curds of course). The wiped potatoes were great as well. Now I was going to pass on dessert because I was SO full already, but twist my arm when you tell me the cookie dough ice cream is a must try. It had real cookie dough chunks on top and bottle and the vanilla ice cream was not boring vanilla, I ate almost half of that bowl and couldn't stop. The chocolate chip cookie dough was house made and it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that tied the whole ice cream bowl together. Can't recommend that enough as well. All in all, we had a great experience! It was so fun to see so many regulars and so many new folks who came in to dine at the same time as us and we all peeked to see who ordered what before we ordered and got some great recs as you can see! Can't wait to come back to enjoy my favorites and more!

Started with the bread and crabcakes and the bread was amazing and definitely fresh but the crabcakes needed more crab and flavor. Basically everything needed more flavor. We also ordered a bottle of wine which our server struggled with and never came over to refill the glasses. Then the entree's; my husband's bolognese was bland and desperately needed at least salt and pepper. Then the real problem was my steak which was supposed to be medium came out well done and then classically when it was recooked came out rare or medium rare if you are being generous. Then the waitress said she would check back and she didn't so I had to get salt myself from the server station which is kinda ridiculous especially when paying $54 for a steak that already has no seasoning which is why they offer free sauces which makes a lot of sense now. When she finally did come back I said it was under but not waiting for it to be overcooked again so reheating it at home with the cold side of mushrooms I ordered WITH my steak. I did talk to the manager after and he was not really helpful or sympathetic and I was really talking to him so in my review I could say well at least management cares but that is not the case here. I gave 2 stars because their drinks are good and the ambiance is nice and the hostess was super friendly and was the star employee after our visit. Also we paid for everything even the cold mushrooms and over/under cooked steak! At minimum also remake my mushrooms or comp them. Would I eat here again hopefully not but it is locationally desirable for me and my in-laws and have lots of GF options so might have to and if I do hopefully they will have made things better.

Parking is fairly plentiful, though the entire shopping center is so busy you might not be able to park super close to the restaurant during normal meal hours. The decor is nice, with appropriate themes for a breakfast restaurant and the seating is comfortable. Service is not super fast, but not too slow for a spot that is this busy. The food is really the star here, in terms of the items offered and in the quality of ingredients, good textures, and design of the dishes. I was very pleased that every dish I tried was minimally very good, and flavorful. The burritofull morning sounds like a standard breakfast burrito, but the flat iron steak was spiced to perfection and tender. The mix of chorizo, roasted peppers, chipotle crema, and salsa verde were surprisingly not too salty and really helped to enhance the flavor of the steak. The crispy hash browns, onions, and chihuahua cheese helped to round out the remainder of this dish with some carbs and a bit of fat, resulting in a very enjoyable dish with nice crispy potatoes on the side. The chicken fried chicken skillet mixed a lot of flavorful elements without being too salty. The golden fried chicken is tender inside, with almost a crispy tempura style batter and is mixed with honey smoked bacon, sausage, and griddled country ham. The bell peppers, and onion add a nice sweetness and extra aroma to the dish. This is topped off with a fairly light sausage gravy, cheddar, and jack cheeses. The potatoes matched well with the gravy, but also helped to absorb some of the fat from the meats. The overall combination was delicious and something I'd definitely order again. The banoffee pie pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've had in the last year. Light and super fluffy is not an understatement. Topped with bananas and lots of chocolate chips and chocolate curls, this is intense without being overly sweet or indulgent. The toffee sauce lightly blends in with the other ingredients and the graham cracker crumbles add a nice, almost banana pie feel to the dish. Highly recommended as a very balanced and delicious option. The corned beef hash and eggs may have been one of the best dishes to show off pure ingredient quality. This is house-made corned beef that is extremely tender and not too salty. A simple mix of green peppers, red peppers, and onions really allow the meat quality to shine without distraction, with crispy potatoes to add a bit of starch to the dish. The tres leches french toast was masterfully done, eggy, thick, with just the right level of firmness. The coconut flakes were an amazing combination with the milks, and cinnamon whipped cream, hazelnut syrup, and coconut cream elevated the flavors without making the entire dish too sweet. My only comment is that compared to other items on the menu, the serving of this felt a bit small for the price. The lil'bit of chicken fried is not your average chicken sandwich. This is quality throughout the entire dish from the buttered brioche down to the perfectly cooked chicken. The biggest surprise for me is the pickles, which have the perfect texture and level of acid. This goes great with the sweet potato fries which are lightly crisp and quite flavorful. Overall, this place gets busy and the prices are a bit higher than other competitors in the area. But the quality of the cooking here makes it worth the wait.

First off, they give you a free biscuit on Tuesdays, so leave room for that. I ordered the griddled ham and cheese crepe, and it's one of the most delicious breakfast items I think I've ever had. I finished one and took the other one home-it heated up really nicely. I also ordered the apple/gouda chicken sausage. The flavor was good, though a tiny bit on the dry side (which tends to happen with chicken sausage). I ordered the cookie butter latte as well, delicious and not too sweet. Service was good, even though they were pretty busy when they were there. Prices are good too, especially for how much food you get. Not wanting to park far and walk far for the theater hubs and I decided to have dinner at Three Embers before the show. It was a great decision! Making reservations was easy through their website and making last minute changes was just as easy. Three Embers is located in the Marriott hotel. It was a larger, open space room with tables well spread apart and comfortable seating. We sat at a nice cozy table by the window. It was perfect for the 2 of us. I can imagine the view being stunning during the other seasons, but being January my view was of snow and more snow amid branches. We were quickly greeted by our server, Anna, who was warm and welcoming. We had bread and butter (delicious), served water right away, and another staff member switched out our table light for a brighter one that was fully powered. Anna took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. We started with the calamari which was delicious! It was perfectly fried with the calamari being nice and tender, complete with our favorite parts the tentacle ends, and well seasoned. Hubby ordered the porterhouse which as prepared spot on, medium rare! The fingerling potatoes were SO DELICIOUS!!! They were crispy, fluffy, tender, and such a good accompaniment to the steak! Honestly as a carb lover, I'd be happy with just a big plate of the crispy fingerling potatoes. The carrots were sweet and prepared just enough to be tender, but with a crunch. He appreciated that it wasn't boiled or steamed to death carrots. I ordered the Black and Bleu salad. It was a large portion salad, perfect for dinner without being heavy. The steak was prepared a medium rare and topped with delicate crispy fried onion strings. Everything in the salad worked so well together making it a nice cohesive entree. The really enjoyed the grilled corn in the salad! The dressing was a light dressing and had a hint of sweetness, but not overpowering the flavors. Unfortunately my steak was a bit on the fatty and gristly side so quite a bit had to be discarded. This was the downside to the salad. Overall, the meal exceeded our expectations and didn't fit into what some would think of as "hotel restaurant food." The prices are on the higher side, but for some of the conveniences and location, it was worth it. The service was wonderful! Anna was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and so sweet! We never felt rushed. She checked back after serving us each course to make sure everything was good and had perfect timing sensing when we needed our check to make the show. I can see why other Yelpers rave about having her as their server! I would certainly come back to Three Embers for dinner before a show. Parking was easy as we were there before the show, parked at the hotel and entered through the hotel. We walked from the restaurant to the theatre without ever having to step foot outside in the freezing single-digit temps.
