It's hard to find a good restaurant on a road trip. We were pleasantly surprised to find Scramblez, 2 minutes off of the 14 freeway in Palmdale. My husband usually drives and that leaves me in charge of finding places to eat along the way. It is often hit and miss. This place had good reviews and it was not too far off the beaten path. They had excellent food choices, great service, a nice atmosphere, clean and the quality of the food served was excellent. This was the first place I've ever eaten at the day I moved to the AV. It's pretty good. Never really had a complaint the few times I went there. Service was really good. Every time I've been there, it's only one chick waiting on tables. My initial thought was "oh wow, service is going to suck, it's only one person managing the tables". Use to order from here everyday until we found a fly on the bottom of our omelet. Called the business about kept getting a new girl and had to explain what happened again and again until we just didn't bother anymore ... Owner came in offered us a free meal after months of not ordering there decided to give it another try and now we have one bag of utensils for one person.We order while I'm at work so it's a hassle when you order food have no utensils and have to just stare at it eat with your hands or wait even longer for some damn utensils ..... Ok Ok... I was trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately I cant. So couple of weeks back my husband and I decided to go here and it was basically OK. I asked for a Dr. Pepper and my husband asked for a sprite, the sprite was being poured out of a 2 liter bottle that was flat and so my husband decided to change his drink and get a water. He ordered a breakfast burrito which was bland and no flavor, I had the french toast and a omelet, and that was mediocre as well. Today one of my good friends came by to take me to lunch and asked about a cafe, so I thought i'd give scramblez another try. Well, it was even worst today. Asked for a pepsi, they didnt have it, asked for shirley temple and they didnt have it, so just got a regular sprite, and rootbeer. The rootbeer was flat and disgusting. My friend ordered the chili cheese open face burger and I ordered chili cheese fries. The chili was cold, the cheese wasnt melted and the burger was cold. How the burger was cold? I dont know. My friend sent the burger back complaining about the temperature of it and the waitress comes back literally 2 mins later as if they just microwaved it. Once we began eating, the waitress family (i assume) came in, and they all sat at a table as well as the waitress and the cook and began conversating, the waitress even went and got food from the back to accomodate her guests and sit, eat, laugh, and talk. All while there were customers sitting at tables waiting to be tended to. All in all i will say that I will not be back to this scramblez, I have had a better experience at the one in Lancaster on Ave L. read more

First time going and it exceeded my expectations. The only waitress Sarah is really friendly. They have a wide variety of dishes in their menu and everything my husband and I tried was really good. There was an older gentlemen behind us and he asked to know what the price of the coffee was and when he said he couldn't afford it basically the waitress went and made it for him and told him she was buying him a coffee! Great food and service! My Dad and I met up here and both ordered omelettes. His homemade chili omelette was tasty and my chicken fajita omette is a definite repeat. To quote my dad who grew up on a Montana farm mind you, "these are the best country potatos I've ever had", and I had to agree. The biscuits and gravy that came as the second side were amazing and I can't remember ever eating better breakfast gravy. Both massive meals were around $10, which would have been fair enough for decent food in this quantity, but the quality of this restaurant makes it a steal. My wife and I are regulars. We each have our favorites and usually stick with one of those. As we walked to the front door this visit, I noticed a sign advertising "Chicken & Waffles" as one of the Sunday specials. We both ordered the C & W not knowing what to expect. The food arrived just about 12 minutes after we ordered it (very fast for C&W). We could not have been more pleased with the entire meal. 4 pc of perfectly cooked fried chicken, flavor all the way to the bone, even in the Breast and, crispy skin. The waffle didn't taste like a pre-made, pop in the toaster waffle. It was fluffy on the inside with a little crispness on the outside. What a wonderful surprise! The place was packed and I didn't get a chance to ask if it was going to be a regular item or just a special.
