Some of the tables are pretty small so if you're ordering a few things you may have to arrange the plates carefully to have everything fit. The servers are always really friendly and coffee is good here too. I'm between 4 or 5 stars only because of the pothole pie, but if they fixed that it would get 5 stars from me for sure! After checking out the plate of the other counter customer I decided to have what he was having; the Uptowner eggs Bennie. English muffin w/andouille sausage patties, perfectly poached eggs hollandaise sauce sprinkled lightly w/ cayenne & a large order of crispy hash browns made with real fresh potato instead of the dehydrated-then rehydrated boxed kind served in most places. Everything was absolutely spot on! The breakfast menu also features pancakes, various egg dishes & many omelet choices. Sadly, I could only eat one breakfast! I really enjoyed watching the cook rapidly crafting the various dishes in front of me; this guy was a genius at the grill! He & the other cook seemed like they really enjoyed their work, smiling & laughing while carrying on a conversation in Spanish. In short; the food was terrific, the service awesome and the atmosphere welcoming & neighborly. I will be returning often!

The place is adorned with drawings from kids and adults alike showing love for the Uptowner - so cool. I ordered some breakfast classics: hashbrowns, bacon, eggs, etc - and WOW the meal was delish. The hashbrowns were perfection! My service was great - the one server holding things down was so kind and efficient. I love diners where you can see the chef griddling right in front of you. A man in need came in towards the end of my visit, and the waitress provided him with a cup of coffee to warm up - I chose to pay for his coffee, but it's these little acts of kindness from restaurant teams that show why restaurants are the heart of our community. It was wet without being too messy, I really enjoyed the garlic aioli, pepper jack cheese, toasted bun, and fluffy egg. Overall, I can see why people talk about this place so much. They've got some great affordable breakfast sandwiches here, and I like that they have some specialty ones to pick from. I LOVE that they have a gluten free bun option! Extra charge, but so nice to have. Most bfast sandwich spots don't offer that. I've had a few I love, and a few I was so/so on. I like that their ham and bacon is chopped/crumbled, and their eggs are perfect. My second time, my arugula was soggy. My biggest hangup and why it's not a 5-star for me but I'll continue to go: the sandwiches are lukewarm right away. The times I've gone and taken it home to eat, I microwave it for 30 seconds and it's perfect. But right away, if you eat it on the go the cheese isn't melted, the bread isn't toasty, and the individual elements are not hot. So pro tip: take it home and heat it up!

I was able to order online and it was ready within 10 minutes. This deli is located inside of the fifth Avenue market to the left when you walk into the store. I am definitely going to try the other sandwiches again and I think I would get double egg next time. I also haven't had alfalfa sprouts since Jimmy John's stop offering that ingredient and the alfalfa sprouts really make this sandwich I will have to get those sprouts every single time and I always get sprouts if it's an option on any menu for a sandwich. The aioli spread is soo good. The sausage is ground sausage. Next time i would get this again but I'd double the egg & also add bacon. These breakfast sandwiches are better than at Rise Bagel as in terms of costs, however, it's Togo only at Egg On A Roll. Mine was $8.50
