Given that we're about as far from the coasts as possible and a long haul from Hawaii, it's nice to see someone aspiring to bring the tropical mindset to the streets of the Twin Cities.

Any good breakfast starts with good coffee and juice. The coffee is great and the orange juice is obviously fresh squeezed - the bright flavor that greets your mouth first sip proves it. The flavors were a taste of strawberry heaven with its fresh strawberries PLUS a syrupy compote, honey butter and whipped cream. What really ties this one together is the white sausage gravy. My kids always choose pancakes but a shout out to the scotch square accompaniment to the kids meal. A little stolen nibble reminded me of when my grandma used to melt butterscotch chips for recipes when I was a kid. Nice touch for kids and their parents reaching across their plates.
