An absolute MUST STOP along I-35 and now my second visit to West, Texas (not West Texas, which is…read morecompletely different). I've been to the other one and now I am here. And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.

My first time here and no question the best sandwich I have had since moving to Texas. A friend…read moretold me about it and we happened to be passing by so we stopped in. They are locating right in downtown Marble Falls. There sandwiches are fresh but their signature sandwich is the chicken salad sandwich. From what I understand, they make their own bread and I have heard the make the chicken salad fresh everyday. Without question, the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever had. You have a choice of white or wheat bread and the bread is also very fresh. They serve with ruffle style chips and a pickle spear. I also had their "Club" sandwich. This is served with Ham, Turkey and Roast Beef. I understand what is on the menu, but I do not understand why they call it a club. A traditional club is a triple decker sandwich with meat (usually just turkey but sometimes turkey and ham) with bacon and cut into quarters. The "club" sandwich they serve is three meats, no bacon and not a triple decker sandwich so I am not sure why they call it a Club sandwich. It was tasty, but I ordered because I thought it would be a traditional club sandwich. In all fairness, it does not say bacon on the menu. Again, fresh sandwiches and I highly recommend. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the other sandwiches but you cannot go wrong if you order their special Chicken Salad.
