Some context before my review: my primary goal with headspa treatments is relaxation and head, neck, and shoulder relief. I spend a lot of time hunched over a desk squinting at a computer screen, and so headspas typically provide targeted attention and a relaxing atmosphere to help me feel rejuvenated. Selena's headspa style is more focused on scalp and hair health. Now to my review: I booked a 90 min Platinum Scalp and Mini Facial treatment via Instagram ($165). Before my session, I completed the required documents and paid a $50 deposit. I saw a lot of people parked on Scripps Dr and ended up parking down the street from the spa, but once I got there I saw that there is parking behind the building and it is accessible via the driveway on the left. The spa is in the first suite to the left when entering from the street. The lobby, treatment room, and restroom (located outside the spa) were all very clean and aesthetic. The headspa bed was one of the most comfortable I have been on and had heated pads that kept me cozy through the 90 min procedure. I also appreciated that Selena could provide a larger bolster because I like to have my lower back pressed into a surface when I'm lying down, though the bolster was quite large and an intermediate size would have been perfect. As for the procedure itself, it wasn't really what I was looking for given my preferences listed above. I didn't feel there was enough head, shoulder, and neck massage compared to other headspas I have had. Selena's massage technique was also not the most relaxing, with less effleurage than I am used to experiencing. I felt like it might have been better to have less "tools" and more concentrated massage to increase full body relaxation. The mini facial was so abbreviated that I felt I would have rather those 10 or 15 minutes be massage instead, and if there was a jelly mask used it wasn't on for very long. I really appreciated that the facial ended with sunscreen, since it was still light outside and I have to always wear sun protection because of retinol use. Be advised that your 90 min procedure includes the time it takes to dry your hair while lying down. My hair is quite long and thick, and so it took quite a while to get it dried. There is also absolutely no styling, so bring a brush. Other headspas I have had have clients move to another location where they sit up for a basic blow out, and typically their menu specifies the length of each part of the procedure so you know exactly how long the treatment is vs the blow dry. Because you are lying down, the dryer is quite loud, so if you have sensitive ears I would suggest a procedure that doesn't include drying. Selena was very professional from start to finish, and I appreciated that she didn't talk too much during the procedure so I could try to relax as much as possible--it was just her technique that made that difficult. My hair was very silky and light for multiple days after my headspa experience, so as a scalp and hair treatment I felt the techniques and products were effective. I signed up my daughter and I for this scalp massage and spa experience for her 20th birthday. It was a little pricey, but it was for a special occasion! The spa itself was kind of tricky to find. There was not a big sign indicating where to go and if I had been alone, it would have been even more creepy. The reception room was pretty cold, but clean, bright and organized. Even though it was warm outside, we were hoping that it would be much warmer in the spa room. We waited a few minutes and went back to the spa room. We stripped down to our undergarments and put on towels. We laid down in the chair and the experience began! The technicians used a camera to take a look at our scalp prior to the experience to show us what our scalp looked like and analyze it. Undoubtedly, it was dry, flaky and not in a good place. We were confident that after the massage, our scalps would be hydrated and supple! We think the water could have been a bit warmer and we were hoping for more of the halo spray (that is advertised as being the main attraction of the head spa). It felt like we only had it for a few minutes. It felt like when the hairstylist runs the nozzle over your head as they wash your hair prior to a haircut. It was very soothing. We just wish it had lasted a little bit longer. There was some commotion with gathering supplies and completing tasks. In between different parts of the treatment, we were cold, despite the blanket. Once we were done, the analysis of our scalp post-treatment was presented. As predicted, our scalps were hydrated and supple and lovely. The blue light, soft music and trickle of water was calming and added to the ambience of the room. However, the room temperature and the water temperature could have been much warmer. We were hoping for a Japanese Head Spa experience, but we aren't sure that is what we received. For the price I paid (even with a discount), I don't feel like I got my full money's worth. We probably won't get another head spa done (here or anywhere else), but it was fun to see if the hype lived up to its name. Not what I was expecting. Booked a Platinum Scalp Treatment hoping for a quiet tranquil luxury session of pampering. This was an expensive double hair wash. Very gentle scalp brushing, nothing more than light scalp pressure with fingertips. Water temperature from the halo spray alternated between cold and mediocre warm. There were multiple occasions of Technician (Selena) moving around noisily and looking for tools in cabinets, leaving me under the water for several minutes at a time just waiting, instead of having tools ready and nearby prepped in advance. Upper chest massage was done with cold lotion and cold hands, warm towel to wipe off, but the leftover water moisture wasn't dried off. I was very cold between the head water temp and chest massage. All in all, not the $150 level of luxury I was hoping for. Stars for cleanliness and aesthetic ambiance. Appreciated the calm music and quality of reputable products used. Scalp treatments could definitely be tweaked to significantly improved customer satisfaction, just writing about my own personal experience. Left disappointed. After a long week of working two full time jobs I decided to treat myself to a wellness/maintenance day and this spa gave me exactly what I needed. Anyone that knows me knows I'm really big on natural products that have little to no chemicals and I was pleased to know that they use herbal products. It is Japanese inspired and it felt like a mini vacation being here. The space is well kept and clean. The receptionist was very hospitable. My technician took pride in her work and was very knowledgeable. I was able to look at and learn about my scalp in depth lol. I felt extremely taken care of. I felt replenished and rejuvenated after my spa treatment and entire day of pampering myself. It was a very unique and worthwhile experience for me in Sacramento. Wow, what an amazing experience! I heard about Sculpted Wellness Spa on IG and was originally hesitant about booking because the price was a little more than other headspa locations I've been to; but after learning about a 20% discount on your first service and a 50% discount for your birthday month, I couldn't wait to book! When booking, America took the time to explain everything in detail and suggested I have my first service with Felipe for the Platinum Scalp Treatment, and I'm so glad she did. I was running a little late due to traffic and then it was hard finding the location because there are a few different Scripps streets. I called and Felipe totally understood and navigated me to the locations parking lot. When I got there, I was immediately walked to my room. The room itself was decorated beautifully. Felipe came in and started off by scanning my scalp and going into detail what he saw my problems areas were and the type of treatment he'd be doing to correct the problem areas. I've been to 5 other head spas in the Sacramento area and none of them went into such detail the way Felipe did. I learned so much about my scalp and the overall importance of scalp health and having a healthy scalp. A head spa service is pretty much a facial for your scalp. We had a fun light hearted conversation in the beginning talking about long hair and then he finally got to business on my scalp and that's when I completely relaxed. He started off by applying something to my scalp (maybe some kind of scalp treatment or mask of some sort) and massaged that in and then started to shampoo and wash my scalp. Usually our favor part of a hair cut/salon service is the hair washing portion, so I was in heaven during that part of the service. He was very thorough making sure to scrub/wash all of my head/scalp and turning my head side to side to get the bottom of the scalp. He used a few different tools in addition to his hands that felt amazing. The Platinum package comes with a facial and all the products he used for that smelled soo good! The massage portion of the service was amazing as well and so relaxing. After the service, we scanned my scalp again and it was so clean. I knew it would be because I feel my scalp was washed thoroughly several times. All the build up around my hair follicle was gone and it just looked like a clean and healthy scalp, which was the overall goal. He then blow dried my hair right there laying down, which I loved. The other head spa locations I've been to, you had to get up and go to a different room to get blow dried. So I loved I could still lay down without having to get up to get blow dried, so convenient. Overall, this was such an amazing experience from start to finish! Felipe was so detailed and thorough with all the many steps he performed and the facial and massage was so relaxing. I left feeling so relaxed and felt my scalp and hair was squeaky clean :) This service was worth every penny and I can't wait until my next appointment! 10/10 recommend! read more

Price was $159 deluxe scalp treatment with 20% off (first time). I paid $110 + $10 tip. The receptionist INCORRECTLY charge me like $30 less. I didn't catch it and had a rough day. Then they started blowing up my phone telling me to come back or give my cc over the phone. Messaging, email, IG message - through extensive length to get back their $30. I was going to pay when they give me time. Then they going to post on IG story about me not paying when they made the mistake. This is so unprofessional. I will pay for $30 they really desperately need and want!!! I want everyone to know what a bad business this is. Save your money and go somewhere else. FYI - be care what you do or they will blast you on SOCIAL MEDIA. They are really that petty! They are stating to pay for their service and their cheap $12 product. IT IS NOT A JAPANESE HEAD SPA, It is "inspired". I wanted it to be so much more. I wanted it to be great. Instagram really hyped it up for no reason. There were issues from the start trying to book 4 of us . We drove from the Bay area . As we were approaching Sac, the receptionist called us. She told us they were running behind and asked to come in 30 minutes later. (1:30 now making the appointment 2) Sure. We checked out other spots in the area Since we Got to Sac by 1:05. As we're hitting the parking lot to be there @ 2, they called and asked if there were a miscommunication about our appointment . Hello?! We booked for a 130 appointment and we pushed back due to their scheduling. We did not complain at all. It felt so rushed. I paid for the deluxe package. Didn't know we were getting 20% off as first time clients. The techs came in and out of our room a couple times to grab the Scalp camera and other items. It wasn't very quiet and the peace was interrupted. It's a very expensive scalp shampoo and massage. My SIL's tech talked to her about what was going on and what she needed to do to get in better condition. The male tech I got used high heat on my wet curls with no product , left me damp, and frizzy as he had another tech finish me. I asked for my before and after pics ; Didn't get those either. I did not get any results from the Cryo Contouring ( advertised as "Ice Sculpting") sessions with America (6 sessions). I had brought this up to her two sessions in that l was not seeing results and then she said I needed to be coming in every 3-4 days. America will claim she never said this timeframe, but not sure why I would lie to my doctor about it for no reason LOL Everything online AND my physician at UC DAVIS said no one should be going in more than 14-15 days between sessions, as that is NOT SAFE, and will overload the lymphatic system. I had pre-booked all of my appointments with Americas suggested time frame then went back and rebooked with the 14 days recommended by my doctor. I have since moved to another business to do my services and this is also consistent with what they have communicated to me. I have also received results from them. If she is recommending this to you; I highly suggest you communicate it with your doctor to see if it's safe or not for you, because I'm guessing they will say the same thing mine did. I did request a refund but of course "all sales are final". My last session was Feb 9th, I asked for a refund March 8th. In hopes maybe there would be some results if I gave it time. I was really excited for my head spa appointment and well let me tell you it was nothing but disappointing. I booked a platinum treatment and I literally just paid them close to $200 just for a simple hair wash. I was hoping for a good head massage but did not get one. The person used a tool which was more annoying than relaxing. My hair has never felt so bad as it does now after getting a scalp treatment. My hair is extremely dry and breaking off a lot more. My main concern was the neck/shoulder massage. I'm not sure if these individuals are properly trained in how to do massages but I was left in a lot of pain for about a week. I could not turn my neck and I could not move my shoulders because the massage I got either pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve and it took me about a week to heal. I really hope they look into and get educated from a true Japanese headspace and improve their products and services because whichever products were used really messed up my hair. read more

America is amazing! I went to her 2 months post op and had previously seen another "massage therapist" who had 5 stars here on Yelp. I don't like to compare but with América I wanted to cry because of the relief I felt afterwards! She got rid of so much fluid I still had. She was very sweet and kind and put me at ease during my massages. She also went ahead and treated my arms since I had gotten them lipo'd as well it was such a relief to finally be able to lift my arms and stretch without so much pain or pressure. I am definitely continuing with America! No only is she helping me recover so much quicker her pricing is very fair for all the work she puts in to ensure I'm healing properly! Unfortunately, not the experience that I expected. Trouble from the start with our booking. Asked to come back in an hour. I was totally fine with that since stuff happens. No problem and an hour is no big deal. The experience wasn't bad, but not accurately advertised. It is advertised as a relaxing spa experience, but is more of a medical treatment for your scalp that happens to be more calm. I booked a platinum package with an add on facial. When I was told to come back we confirmed that. When they finished my scalp treatment, I asked when the facial was and they said they would talk to me when I went out because they didn't have time for it. This would have been a better conversation BEFORE any treatment. Then I could have decided to move forward with the lesser services or reschedule for a time that they could have accommodated all I wanted and booked for. The scalp treatment itself was basic. There is no massaging on your scalp, neck and shoulders like advertised. It's just an expensive slightly relaxing shampoo service. On the phone the women mentioned the platinum service came with a full body massage, but this just means you lay down on a massage chair while they clean your hair. Very misleading. That all being said, the staff was friendly and tried to right the situation with an additional discount. That was much appreciated. I think if you decide to book here then just beware that it is just a good scalp condition and not a spa-like service. They should really advertise as such to avoid the confusion. read more
