Their response "I don't know but we can have someone come out and for a residential water tune-up." WTF?!?! My irrigation was turned off for a month thanks to drought resistant plant material and my lawn is UC Verde Buffalograss which is dormant. How am I billed for more water usage when none was used than I am in the summer when I water 4x a week?!?! Funny thing is I had more water usage in January than December but my bill miraculously was less! Like all other utility companies, public or otherwise, it's all cash grab and VWC is no different.

They freeze your account. Instead, I chose to the option to pay my bill now. Then I went back on their website to try to log in. It still wouldn't allow me access to put in my credit card. I called SCV water and asked if they could update it over the phone and I was told they can't. They are NO help! I suppose I'll need to put a reminder on my phone to check back in a few days to see if I can access my account. What frustrating here is you sign up for automatic payment, so you are NEVER late. At first I didn't know what it was. Kept opening the stove and closing it. Couldn't figure it out where the gas smell was coming from. Then, I turned the knobs of the burners and still nothing. It scared me a bit. It can be very dangerous. So earlier this morning, I called them and they gave me a 4 hour estimated time. A nice gentleman by the name of Mike came inside my apartment to take a look at it. In less than 20 minutes, he figured out what the problem was. Took care of it and left. My water heater had been giving me trouble over the last couple of months, shutting off sporadically. While I was usually able to reset it myself, it finally gave out completely. There was no gas coming through the line, and it just wouldn't ignite. I called Shellback, and within two hours, Moises arrived at my place. He was incredibly responsive, immediately diagnosed the issues, and gave me a clear breakdown of the work needed and the estimated timeline. The fix required replacing both the thermal pilot assembly and the gas control valve. Since the parts were covered under the manufacturer's warranty, he had to source them from an authorized dealer. To make sure we weren't left completely out in the cold, Moises got the gas ignitor working temporarily on day one. By 9:00am the very next morning, he had already picked up the warrantied parts and finished the permanent replacement! As a great bonus, he also flushed the water heater for routine maintenance before wrapping up. I was blown away by the turnaround time. Unfortunately, they refused to work with me in any way. I understand that I am ultimately responsible for paying for the services I used, and I wasn't trying to avoid that. My concern is that their mistake resulted in an unexpectedly large bill all at once, creating a financial burden that could have been avoided. I cannot believe it is taking so long. At this point they really should provide a full refund with interest! Good news. There is a page of contact emails on their website that I found today. I had been emailing their general email but now I will email their top employees until I am given my money back that they stole!
