The Pacific Motel - An event at The Pacific Motel

Charming stay, but very strict one-dog policy + $125 dog fee!! The Pacific Motel is charming,…read morestylish, immaculately clean, and in a fantastic location. The staff was friendly and the property itself is really lovely. If you're traveling without pets--or with just one dog--you'll probably have a great experience. However, dog owners should be aware that the motel has a very strict one-dog limit, and the pet fees are substantial. I'm a volunteer with a dog rescue and was transporting a foster dog to her forever home. I also had my own dog with me. When I checked in, I was told I would not be able to stay because I had two dogs--even though I had already booked a non-refundable room. To their credit, the staff eventually worked out a compromise and allowed me to stay. However, they charged $125 per dog, which brought my total for the night to around $550. I'll be feeling the moths coming out of my pocket for a while with that one. If you book using an outside vendor like Hotels.com, these fees and policies are not made known. Again, the motel itself is lovely and the staff was polite throughout the interaction, but the pet policy is extremely strict (not allowed on furniture) and $$expensive$$. If you're traveling with dogs, especially more than one, it's definitely something to be aware of before booking.

What a wonderful stay!…read more Cutely designed and felt very like home! Everything was super clean, water did not smell like chlorine, and towels didn't have that hotel smell. The only downside is that there is no AC but honestly the cold air at night with the ceiling fan blowing in the right direction is enough to keep you cool during the night. Just note that there is no complimentary toothbrush. Kind of misleading on the website as it is listed under amenities. Staff are very friendly and always a nice add to your stay!

On the Beach is a hidden gem. Do not question if you should book here or not, just do it!…read more They have 14 rooms and a private parking garage. In the busy season they do book up so make your reservation early. Prime location right next to the pier. If you are on the beach side you will have an amazing view. Lots of places to eat within walking distance and a bunch of antique shops as well We were in room 202 which is an upstairs king room. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and liquid hand soap so no need to bring your own. Our room had a jetted tub The bedroom area has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, fireplace and 3 chairs to lounge in. They provide an extra blanket if you get cold. There is best but no A/C. However there is a box fan in the closet and a ceiling fan as well Outside you have a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table. Beautiful View. Just be careful eating outside as there are lots of seagulls However they were friendly All day in the lobby you can get hot tea and hot chocolate along with fruit and cereal. From 8 am to 10 am they add coffee. From 4 pm to 5 pm they have beer and wine available They also have sugars and creamers available Breakfast is included each morning. You fill out a card with your choices and drop it at the front desk before 5 pm the night before. You can also leave it hanging on your door. Each morning you can have a pastry or quiche, flavors change daily. They also have yogurt, hard boiled egg, fruit, orange juice or milk. We had the quiche each morning and they were delicious. You can also choose what time between 8 am and 10 am you would like it delivered. Each afternoon freshly baked cookies are placed in your door hanging in a cute bag. The oatmeal and chocolate chip were amazing. If you want excellent service and amenities then this should be your choice. Very personal service, amazing location and quiet. Cindy you are amazing thank you for everything.

For a 3-star hotel, this Hampton Inn Morro Bay easily earns 4 stars from me…read more First, the good stuff: this place is really clean, comfortable bed, good pillows and nicely updated. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.

Property is three years old and still had a new smell to it. Right off the highway, so easy access…read more Everything is bright and clean. Indoor pool! Kind of small though so it gets crowded fast. No jacuzzi though. One issue I found is that the door to the bathroom is a barn door style, but the stopper on the rail wasn't adjusted right so we pinched our fingers a few times. Also I found the digital keys did t work that well, they failed to find the locks a lot. Breakfast was standard for a Hampton, egg omelet with cheese, sausage, cereals, waffle makers, etc.
