This was a really cute aquarium experience. There were lots of fish and several interactive stations throughout. I especially loved the turtle stations I think kids around 6-10 would really enjoy that part. My toddler was fascinated by the jellyfish tank. The different lighting they used made the jellyfish look really beautiful and almost magical. The tunnel was definitely the star of the show and a great photo opportunity. Toward the end, you can even touch some starfish, which was a fun hands-on moment. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and overall it was a great experience. It's conveniently located inside Grapevine Mills, which makes it easy to add to a shopping or family day out. We went on a weekday. Which was PERFECT no crowds at all. I've been to huge aquariums before, but this one is the perfect size for my little toddler. He was very enthusiastic, walking around and looking at every tank, then quickly tired out. I love the round tanks because that allows for multiple families to see the same fishes without having to wait for each other. We saw sharks, turtles, pufferfishes, lionfishes, eels, seahorses, jellyfishes, and much more. Our favorite part was the fish tunnels - you can see fishes swimming all around you, including at the bottom of your feet. They kept the glass pretty clean, so you can see everything clearly. FYI: There's no opportunity to pet any of the marine creatures. They have hand sanitizer dispensers throughout to promote hand hygiene. The place is located in the mall next to Legoland. I would purchase tickets ahead of time to save money. It can get pretty stuffy and crowded on the weekends, so timing matters if you're looking for a more comfortable experience. read more

We ended our business trip with a visit to Sea Life Grapevine aquarium. It was a very nice and interactive aquarium. It feels more of a traditional aquarium. It is a great spot for kids and I feel like younger children would really enjoy it. There are interactive play areas that they'll really enjoy. It wasn't overly crowded when we went, which was a plus. I didn't feel rushed to view. The aquarium is located inside Grapevine Mills. There's also plenty of shopping around the aquarium area too, which was a plus. The aquarium also had a sea turtle Center, flashlight fish and several other exhibits. It was a nice size and it took us about 2 hours to get through it. I'd highly recommend, as it was a great attraction. read more

So from the outside this place doesn't look like much, but I do think it was worth a view. I don't know if I would pay twenty dollars however, we did do a ten dollar upgrade after going to lego land and that's why I felt like it was worth it even more. Parking, so this is in the mall so you're gonna expect to find the same parking.You're going to find with mall parking. What to see: so this place is deceiving when we first walked in. I kind of thought it was going to be a scamp and I was pleased to see that there was multiple different fish tanks and they seemed like they were all in good repair. There was a turtle area as well. That I thought was pretty cool but only half worked. Anyway, we were having a good time and it was not very crowded.But there was one family that just allowed three screaming.Children to go through and we had to wait in order to let them get far enough ahead because of how disruptive they were. The one gripe I would say is the staff didn't seem to care even though the signs on all the fish tanks indicate to be quiet and not do flashes with cameras... Facilities: they had a gift shop which wasn't too expensive.But we did not end up buying anything, and we did need to use the bathroom upstairs.They were kind enough to let us back in when my son realized a second that we walked outside that he had to go potty. This is a two story aquarium inside the Grapevine mall. You can buy tickets either to this area by itself or you can add the Legoland and/or the Pepe the pig play area if you want to expand your day of adventures. Today we just had time to do the aquarium so that is what we chose. A single ticket for the aquarium runs about $25 per adult. When you select your ticket, you will also select a time for entering into the aquarium. This allows a steady flow throughout the facility without getting too backed up. You entering on the first floor and as you proceed through the different areas and different tanks, you have lots of learning experiences to spend time with as well. Kids have small areas where they can get into as well that are different than where the parents can get into and they are able to pop up their heads inside the aquarium from underneath. These are great photo areas. At the end of the first floor there's either stairs or an elevator to get to the second floor as you continue proceeding through that level. When you're all done, you will exit back out of another elevator or stairs back into the mall through a gift store. read more

They have a lot of sea life to view and felt like the Atlanta aquarium, on a much smaller scale, but with some of the same totes if attractions ie the tunnel of fish you can walk through in the Atlanta aquarium. read more

The aquarium has a significant amount of fish in every room. They even have a room where you can touch some of the sea life. The price point is okay $19.99 per person. As a first time guest from out of town, I was really impressed by this aquarium. Sea Life experience was worth the visit!! Interesting it's inside a mall. Get your tickets online to avoid the lines and wait time. You can find promo codes for general tickets, too bad not for combo tickets. Applaud to the employees who were friendly, welcoming and made the experience worth the visit. One thing, is the virtual ride for one employee to mann the ride. My wife and I took our grandson to the Sea Life Aquarium (SLA) and Legoland Discovery Center (LDC) at the Grapevine Mills Mall (GMM). Prior to our trip, we tried to buy discount tickets online for both venues because I am a disabled veteran. However, I was not able to find any sort of combination ticket for both venues where I might apply the discount. After scouring websites of both venues, I abandoned the idea and decided instead to just purchase tickets at the venue, assuming they would be administered by the same company, which they were. Upon our arrival at GMM, we inquired about discounted combination tickets. We were politely redirected to the nearby ticketing kiosks where we were promptly greeted by a friendly staff member who graciously assisted us in purchasing discounted tickets for both venues. I was grateful for the help, since I would not have been able to select options in the correct order to accomplish what the helpful staff member did. We opted to enter the SLA first. As the SLA is interspersed throughout cave like corridors and openings, it was somewhat dimly lit, with most light emanating from the aquatic enclosures. People who are claustrophobic might be a little triggered, especially once one arrives at the clear, under-sea tube. My wife, my grandson, and I all actually lost a degree of our equilibriums when we walked through the tube. The entire walk through the SLA took about two hours. At each aquatic enclosure there is a touchscreen that offers up a couple of facts relevant to the sea life in the adjacent enclosure. And, while this is a display of the use of technology, there is only one of these, which means people must either wait for a turn at the touchscreen, or decide to move along in the exhibit. This also could become problematic for parents with small children who themselves may not be able to operate the touchscreen. A much better idea, albeit way less technologically demonstrative, would be to have placards with relevant facts about the sea life, posted on the walls near aquatic enclosures. This would facilitate everyone having an equal opportunity to read about the viewed sea life, and would greatly improve flow through the SLA. One of the coolest aspects of the SLA was the Starfish interactive. As one enters the cue for an opportunity to touch an actual Starfish, SLA staff announce a requirement for visitors to please approach the handwashing station and thoroughly wash hands, prior to coming forward to touch the Starfish. The handwashing station was clean and well stocked. It was easy to use and was much appreciated. As my wife and grandson were touching the Starfish, my wife, who just happens to be a RN, asked if there was a possibility of contracting Salmonella after touching the Starfish. My not being a medical professional, I was of course clueless as to why she asked the question, but the monitoring staff replied that "Yes" it would be possible to contract Salmonella, and for that reason people should wash their hands thoroughly, also AFTER touching the Starfish! As was evidenced by both this exchange and, the placement of the handwashing station, beyond the cue entrance to the Starfish interactive, I personally believe it would be good if 1) the SLA would move the handwashing station into the general area of the room, so people entering and leaving the interactive have easy access to the station, to wash up and 2) the monitoring staff would call attention to this risk when explaining the need to hand wash, as a step in touching the Starfish. Upon entry into the SLA, we were photographed with our grandson and intended to get the photo on exiting. Upon checking for the photo's availability, we were offered one of two "packages." The first was for a partial mix of the printed photo/s, priced at $30. The second was for all of the printed photos, for $40. Because this was a memory creating event, we were intent on getting the photos. After purchasing the complete package and looking over the photos more carefully, it was apparent there was little care taken to ensure the photos taken were of a high quality. And, I am merely referring to the image's focus. Our photos were a bit blurry. So, just keep that in mind if you decide to get the photos! Apart from the limited inconveniences and couple of gripes, I would definitely recommend visiting the SLA at GMM! After visiting the SLA, we decided to grab a bite to eat inside the GMM's food court. The food court literally does have something for everyone! We had food from a couple of different food vendors and looked at the food from the other vendors. Everything we saw looked delicious and everything we ate was delicious! So, it was a Win-Win!! If you decide to take in the SLA, plan to take your time, wear comfortable shoes and have a great time!! Pretty solid aquarium in Grapevine Mills. It took us about 1 hour to to see everything with a toddler. They do have a decent amount to see though some areas can get crowded. We got our tickets discounted with rewards but I don't think it would be worth it to pay full price. I took my son there about 2 weeks ago after saving his gripping for tickets because we don't have a lot of money because I'm on disability and he's the only one working we go up there and I am in a mobility scooter because I cannot walk and I am too heavy wheelchair they refused to let us in and said oh I'm sorry you can't come in turn us away they did give us a refund but they were very prejudiced about my disability and didn't want anything to do with me the two girls in the front just want to be said oh you can't go in there with that so we'll just give you a refund if you need to go way out of her establishment very rude not at all help for handicapped person read more

We lived our visit! Was able to find coupons so it was only $16 a person. Lots of fish to see! We were able to see the turtle feeding. They have a "stamp" station. It could use improvement. It embosses an outline of an aquatic animal on it. It is barely visible and to younger kids-it appears to do nothing, a punch would be better. We were able to touch starfish. We loved the aquarium. Beautiful sea creatures, and great exhibits. My one complaint is with the scavenger hunt that they have the kids complete during the course of the aquarium. Our kids tried hard to find all of the coins and answer all of the questions with the promise of getting a prize at the end, and when they redeemed their completed map, the prize was a brown plastic coin. They were grateful to get anything but I was kind of bummed on their behalf! They could have at least made the coin redeemable for a toy or something, or made the prize a bit more exciting, or something they can use/play with. A small thing, but with the amount that Sea Life charges for admission, I would expect a little more! Or, just don't give the kids the expectation of a prize at all. read more

BE CAUTIOUS at this aquarium. The sea life here is excellent but the exhibits are dangerous. Not only are there multiple areas that could lead to disasters if you take your eye off children for a second but the exhibits are DARK and unsafe. We had lots of fun and were surprised at how awesome it was for an aquarium in a mall. there are quite a few exhibits and the layout was really well-thought-out in my opinion. There was this one exhibit that was a tunnel that put you in the center of an aquarium which allows the sea life to swim all around you on both sides above you and below you which was amazing and my favorite part of the whole Adventure. It is definitely worth checking out and because it's at the mall with an awesome food court and a few other attractions you can make a whole day of it. At the time of writing this review, I believe the ticket prices were $20 per person for weekday visits and $24 per person for weekend visits Which sound expensive but the experience was definitely worth it from my perspective and point of view read more

This isn't Shedd Aquarium, but it was a fun attraction to check out while we were visiting family in the area. We decided the morning of that we were going to visit the aquarium, so purchased tickets at the self-service kiosk. Kiosk is located in the mall right outside the aquarium storefront. If I remember correctly, entry times are every 15 minutes. We walked right up and were able to select the next available entry time. Tickets were around $25/each and the experience was worth it. Aquariums to me are the equivalent of zoos and circuses, but it appears that SEA LIFE has several conservation efforts in place. I like to think that the cost of admission goes toward such efforts. Some of my favorite parts of the aquarium included the seahorses, 'flashlight' fish, sea turtle rehab area, and the jellyfish. I feel like I left seeing a couple of things I never have before. There was a daycare group ahead of us, so that really slowed us down. Would be nice if SEA LIFE refrained from selling tickets in 15-minute blocks before and after admitting groups like this because it's cumbersome for everyone else. This was a group of maybe 15 and the kids were all over the place at times. Friendly staff, clean facility, nice gift shop. Elevators are available for strollers or those with mobility issues. Recommend. All ages will enjoy this. You can also buy combo tickets for both SEA LIFE and Legoland. read more

The important thing to know about this aquarium is that it is heavily focused on conservation. It's smaller than most aquariums and it's not just about marine animals, but about "sea life". In other words, there are a few large animals (sharks, crocodiles, etc.) because the purpose of the place is more environmental. Crowded area to begin with, being in a mall with Lego land, movie that's, bowling etc all next to each other. Weekday would probably be best if you can. Definitely look for promos online. I don't know it would seem worth the full ticket prices to us, and not a regular occurrence, but would go back to take kids. We love coming to this aquarium we bought an annual pass. For being in a mall this really is a great value aquarium and tons to see. We stumbled upon an evening event they were having which was an additional fee but we got to finally experience their Christmas lights setup and beer tasting. I tried to call to discuss but there was no one to speak to. My daughter (8) attended 12/5 for a field trip. She told the attendant that the shark has not moved in 20 minutes. They said it was fine...came back 30 min told them. Still fine again 45 min later....inspected shark. Claimed "fin was hurt and he died" Thanks for being in human to your animals.
