Went in to buy a Celsius. It came out to little more than $3, so I decided to just buy another and use their 2/$4 deal that they have so clearly advertised. I was rung up and the total was $6 and some change. Told the cashier that it was 2/$4, so he re-rung me and it was 4.99. I just assume sf taxes are a dollar but I didn't ask. Just checked my statements and I was charged 6.52. Listen, I don't care about getting a 1.50 back, but that's pretty slimy! You charged me 4.99 to my face and then changed it later? That's bad business. It was a 1.50, and now you have a bad review--not because of the price, but because of the practices. There are a lot of other gas stations that won't charge you more like that. Raj and his family, who own the Sunset Mom & Pop Taraval street store, have provided a real staple for nearby neighbors, especially during the Pandemic. Raj, the store manager, worked hard to keep the essentials stocked for when Walgreens would run out. For the elderly lady who can't wait to get in and eat that one piece of specialty chocolate, SeaBee has the box right up front; each piece of a glorious Ghirardelli square at 49.¢. Miss Maniqua savors the fresh gold penny she receives every morning she comes in. What people in the Beachside Taraval district have come to enjoy is the customization of their shopping experience. SeaBee pays attention to what customers like and need, and adjusts the shop's inventory accordingly. One customer, Peter, who's always out on the bench next door, at The Far Out Gallery, asked for a very special type of Salt & Vinegar Lays potato chips. Now SeaBee has it in stock perennially. Manish, who works at the SeaBee Market, told me that the main purpose of their store is for the customer to get what they need, but also they come here for the experience of buying their favorite things reliably. 'The market adds value to the regular customer's day', Manish says. And certainly during the Pandemic, it was a safe haven to come and get supplies. The Cashwrap Lady will not sell you a Lifeline pass via Credit Card. She claims she is charged 5% for these purchases. My question is, if you have the card swiper from SFMTA, then shouldnt you use it? I have never heard of a business denying a purchase outright, simply due to form of payment. Only cash sales eh...-_-. Cuz you make a whopping 50 cents from cash sales. Welp, this review will hopefully lose you more than you earn in the long run. read more

Convenient to get a lifeline muni sticker however, you get charged $2.75 for using a credit card. I was really annoyed by this because it wasn't posted anywhere and usually places that do charge a fee to use credit cards will have it posted. The lady suggested I go to Walgreens to purchase something and get cash back but then it would have been the same as me getting charged a $2.75 fee anyways. So be aware, bring cash!! read more

On my first visit, I arrived at 3 pm, and there was a sign on the door saying they would return at 4:30 p.m. If I just needed liquor, I wouldn't care about a remote little store randomly taking a 2-hour break in the early afternoon. But there are so few places to get SFMTA Lifeline pass stickers as is, and I drove out to the edge of SF for this. The store has no weekday hours posted outside; I looked forever. I called them and there's no message or answering machine. So I tried another day at 9 a.m. per Yelp's hours. They actually opened at 9:25. I asked the lady who opened what the store's hours are, and she said, "We open at 9, but I'm always 10 or 15 minutes late." She charged me a $2 "transaction fee" for using my credit card, which sucks, but after looking at other reviews, I'm just grateful she took a card at all. Any little liquor store out in the boondocks can keep un-posted, irregular hours without anyone caring. But not getting my Lifeline pass sticker literally costs me money. Before Walgreens opened up, this was the spot! Every Sunday - got the newspaper here, and when I used to smoke - place for a pack. Now, it's aged with the rest of the neighborhood..plus most of the people are there for the market or Walgreens. But you'll always have a special place in my heart. read more

I gave it an extra star for its convenient location which is just blocks from my house and right next to the "L - Taraval" Muni stop. I used to stop in here after school and buy candy, but nowadays, I stop in here and pick up liquor. They've got a fairly decent liquor & beer selection as well as the obligatory lotto tickets, if you're in the mood.
