The prices are much higher than any other food place. It's more expensive than the one in union. Also, I buy fruits there and 90% of the time the fruits are no good. I spent money on this Mango and when I cut it bad inside. You need to be careful when you buy there check dates of expiration. Usually when something on sale it about to expire or already has. The cashier RUI L. Was very rude!!! Rui Didn't greet me when I approached his cash register. Packed my items with an attitude. Left the cash register while in the middle of my transaction, note: Rui didn't inform me that he was leaving for a quick second. After the transaction was done Rui didn't thank me. This was honestly the most rudest experience ever at Seabras. I suggest you don't attend this store. O caixa RUI L. Foi muito rude !!! This was my first visit to this location and I will not be going back. While they do seem to have a selection of products, the customer care is not the best - specifically at check out. The cashier was not friendly at all. It gave me a negative impression. "No hello, or thank you for your business." Customer service is very important. read more

My least favorite of the Seabra Foods brand. The ones in Newark offer a larger variety of things. The fresh vegetables are not fresh and almost everything is half way to going bad. The meat section is the best part because they offer butcher cuts and fresh meat. It is a great place to find Portuguese items. read more

Really nice local food market. I'm a new mom who was shocked to realize how expensive food shopping is especially at likes Shop rite so this place came in handy because they're cheaper on most items. Also I receive WIC and going to place like Shop Rite it's so difficult finding the exact brands I can get. But here it's super easy they even have stickers so you won't get confused! And in th event that you do they have no problem going to get the correct item for you. I think that's really nice. I will continue to come here to get every day items read more

Great place if you want to stuff that expires weeks before the due date. Cheeses and pastries/cakes with mold before you even have a chance to open it. Happens with much frequency. Have yet to experience anything similar with A&P or Target. read more

Ethnic supermarkets are good! Fresh vegetables, fruits, etc. If you step into Portugal for while and forget your english even better. Typically I purchase international items here for the family or get togethers. Since Brazilian foods are offered this goes over well back home. If you need something quick this is the place to go. Is is the neighborhood grocery store if you don't want to deal with Shoprite. But depending on what you buy it is not the cheapest price. This is the 4 star rating. The butcher are excellent and will make precise cuts. Parking lot is shared in the mini mall and can be packed. I would still go for something quick here. read more

The Seabra in Hillside was renovated, but still needs work on the packaged meat department. The fruits and vegetables seem to be frozen at one time and do not last long. Also, there are no scales to weigh your produce. They were there before. The fresh meat and fish departments are okay. Prices a little high. Needs work. The bakery is great!!! Staff pleasant. And the prepared food is tasty. Fresh goodies and great assortment of rolls. Visit the New Super Seabra on Ferry St ( old Pathmark and Acme supermarkets). Fresh everything and a place upstairs to eat with a view. Spectacular!!! read more

I come here once in a while for fresh products. It must b on weekends to get fresher veggies and fruits. But, it's never really fresh, I honestly only come here for being rushing or because if I try Hillside shoprite, the disappointment would more. The place is small. So, it's definitely a bit confusing the way they have all displayed. But, the worse here is the meat generally. It's kind of scary!! Don't you buy meat on this place, ever!!! Oh there's more, pay attention to the expiration dates to any product, they do this thing, about putting one good date with others already past dates. read more

I always wanted to check the Seabra markets out, so I stopped by this particular branch after eating at Binh Duong II a few steps away. From what everyone says, this is a Portuguese chain supermarket that happens to carry a lot of other ethnic groceries. I saw a number of fresh bread and pastries behind a glass shelf near the deli section at the back, but there are also pre-made and packaged ones near it as well. The aisles are stocked with common groceries you can expect to find elsewhere, but with a smaller-than-expected "international" section. There's fresh produce available, as well. Overall, it's an okay place to stop by if you need common groceries. This isn't the cleanest market I've been to, though. However, the swarm of flies that make their way inside is a bit of a turn off. The lights were dimmed (maybe off) when I was here. This Seabra shares a parking lot with other stores in the Hillside Shopping Center. read more

Pronounced Sea-Ah-Bra, this local Brazilian/Portuguese supermarket is a most go for cheap, quality products. Ah, I can remember like it was yesterday --- an array of neon green plastic bags scattered across the kitchen table. Not even a $100 shopping spree at Shop Rite or Pathmark could compare. Their soup combo with their tasty Portuguese bread --- Yum. One of the very few businesses I miss in New Jersey, but luckily for me, there's a Seabra's down here in Pompano Beach, Florida, so I'm in good hands. read more

I don't give any stars to this supearmarket, the costumer service is terrible, in fact they seem irritated when you ask them something, bought chicken, and fish, and in three ocasions was spoiled. Buyer beware! ! Very racist store based on my family's experience. Which is sad since my family has shopped here for years. I have advised all my family and friends to never come back to this store again. Very rude employees and NO customer service. They accused my mom of changing a price when she did not. Even when she showed the staff where she got the item from the nasty blonde woman behind the register continued to fight her when my mom wasn't fighting. They manager wasn't much help either. Just horrible service. If your not from brazil or Portugal good luck being treated with respect. Try another location this one sucks. read more

Although I'm minutes from many Seabra's located in Newark, I was super excited when one opened up in my town of Union. I LOVE the seafood dept! Their meats & produce are very reasonably priced, too. How could I forget, the bakery dept. Those pasteis de nata call my name every time I stop in, which is at least 5 to 6 times per week! Next time I'll have to wear earplugs, lol. Rumor has it that they're opening one up in Springfield & Roselle Park as well! read more
