Seated and not given any bibs. Given the rice before even getting the appetizers or main food. When asked to take back the rice and bring it with the main food, it was brought out again in two minutes with this confused look of the correlation between wanting hot rice with the food. Then the server brings out garlic bread when we ordered garlic noodles. When told this is incorrect, we are given a blank stare. A different server brings out the fries and appetizers, when asked for bibs he states "who the heck sat your guys" jokingly because obviously that was their job. I simply point and he laughs "oh the boss, Seth" not even surprised by this. Food is brought out. The mild is ridiculously hot, my mother couldn't eat it. When told to bring it back, you can over hear a waiter telling their boss this is probably the "eight or ninth time today" that the mild is just too hot. The garlic noodles are more like pepper noodles with how much black pepper is on it. Oh and the waiter that took our order never came back to be our wait staff after it was brought up that our order was incorrect on a multitude of levels. Never got any form of apology about the terrible service, incorrect food. Only positive was that they had tv's playing the nba playoff games. read more

Couple things to know. 1) Wear old clothes (or something you dont care about) 2) Don't get freaked out that your dinner comes in a bag. 3) Expect to roll yourself out of there after youve eaten waaaaay too much. Food is delicious and the staff is amazing. Totally going back!!!! read more

Finally a good Cajun/Asian fusion seafood restaurant in Riverside. The food is as good as anything you can get in the OC. We got the Cajun fries (very good!) And the shrimp with all the seasonings (spicy level). It was all very flavorful and delicious. read more

I came here with expectations set by the Boiling Crab. Don't. It's not the same. Maybe during the busy times, it's poppin off a little more. But, at 2pm on a Monday, not so much. We were the only table. Service was not bad, food was the same. Seafood in a bag. We shared a lb of the garlic butter shrimp (mild) between the two of us, and a basket of sweet potato fries. The shrimp was not spicy at all really, except I did get one bite that was very spicy towards the beginning and after that it was non existent. Not sure if I accidentally ate a pepper or what, it's possible I burned a couple taste buds or just developed a tolerance to the spice very quickly (which would be unusual for me). Not a big deal, either way. I'm not a big spice person, so it's not really a complaint but an observation. I agree with the reviewer who said they don't devein their shrimp, obviously, because they'd have to peel it for you. I just did it with my hands after peeling, also not a big deal. It works. The sweet potato fries were good, because sweet potato fries just are. Would've been better with some salt. We tried putting the salt and pepper mixture they gave us on it, but it wouldn't stick so it really made no difference. We dipped them in ranch. Which we paid extra for, and it was pretty bland too. The server brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. We did. We wanted to order the strawberry vanilla ice cream, but she said they were out and they had no other desserts. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. Deducted a couple stars for the fries, ranch and no dessert. P.S. Squeeze some lemon on your hands before washing them. It'll help so your hands won't smell like this for a week after you're done eating. read more

We usually go to Star Crab but there's always a long wait so we discovered this place. Second time here & both times were sat right upon arrival. Our food was served within 10 minutes, pretty impressed for being a Friday night. Food was great & I LOVED my michelada!! We came in about 9pm on a Friday night and was seated right away, perfect timing I guess. Don't let the outside of the restaurant discourage you, it's in a little strip mall across from the Galleria, but it's really nice inside. Got a lb of shrimp and gumbo with rice. Very favorable. Wish the gumbo came in a larger size though. Everyone at my table loved what they got (better than Boiling Crab) the King crabs, catfish, shrimp and calamari. Been here a few times with the family usually go with a pound of Shrimp with the all in one mix and spicy heat level. Has a nice kick so if your not too into spicy food get the mild or no spice at all. Also order the fried calamari which is bomb not overcooked so doesn't feel like your chewing on a rubber band also comes with fries under the calamari comes with ketchup which taste like its jalapeño ketchup a very nice surprise. We've also had a pound of mussels all in one mix with medium spice level which everyone enjoyed... great flavor, fresh food, and awesome customer service. Will be coming back for sure. read more

Tried it for the first time. Went in, stood in front of the door not knowing if we should seat ourselves or wait for a hostess. One waitress was yapping with a table even though she saw us standing already. After giving them the chance (and frankly, not knowing what we should do), I finally walked up to the cashier and asked another waitress for a table. Waitress was apologetic saying that they were very busy. They were servicing only 4 tables - not sure how you could be THAT busy. Ordered the food, the waitress supposedly wrote them down. The food came and one of the orders were wrong. One shrimp order should be spicy but the waitress who gave the food didn't know which was which. Another waitress came and "checked." She came back and told me (the customer) to "check if it's spicy." Does that make even sense?! I asked for ice water. The cup was filled to the brim with ice so bad, the straw couldn't go all the way down. When I asked for less ice, the waitress took about 5 ice cubes off. Flavor of the sauce is off. Common sense lacking and service is questionable in this new place. The other place (Star Crab Star) has much better. Won't be coming back to this one, sorry. read more

The food was great Kathy was our server, very attentive and on top of it. Came with the family for a lunch outing our only complaint is how many effing times a server came by to ask how everything was. I don't know her name but she has been there for a while now. She ALWAYS had a bad attitude every time I come there. Customer is always right.
