Honestly, I was super nervous about getting a dental implant, but Dr. Sheryar Aslam made the whole experience way easier than I expected He's not only really skilled but also super gentle--basically no pain, which still surprises me! His assistant Quin ( hope, I got it right) was amazing too--so friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. Aslam explained everything in a really simple, easy-to-understand way (no confusing dental talk), and the whole place has a modern, clean vibe. I have Delta Dental and they acted like I didn't have insurance at all. I asked for the Delta Dental discount and didn't get it until the procedure was finished. At that point I had overpaid $400 which is a bunch of money for me! I needed more work so I asked for a pretreatment estimate from Delta Dental. Dr. Gantes assistant was having a problem with me getting the estimate and was making rude remarks to me while I sat in the chair. The estimate came in the mail and they never bothered to talk to me about it. Guess what I'm never going back!!! read more

I went to see Dr. Aslam because I was having pain in my tooth. I didn't have an appointment ahead of time, but because I was in pain they were able to squeeze me in. As soon as I was seen, the doc found that I had a severe infection. He had to extract the molar, do a bone graft, and then allow it to heal. Once it did, he put in the implant. He's a great doc! He has a very gentle touch, so there wasn't much pain after. read more

Long story, but.....due to an injury, I had to have a Dental implant to replace a tooth. I tried another Doctor first and the experience caused me so much concern, I felt I needed to see someone else, even though I was in the chair and ready to go with the first one. SO GLAD I waited and saw Dr. Aslam at Seal Beach Implant. The first doctor didn't do any of the things Dr. Aslam did which would have, in my opinion, reduced the chances for a sucessful outcome. It's probably more expensive to do a good job, but it's your teeth! I'm going to need these for the rest of my life. The first doctor would have basically eyeballed it after looking at x-rays. Dr. Aslan's precise and perfect method made sure I had bone lined up perfectly. I don't even want to think about how bad it could have been. I got ripped off here. Website states free second opinion. When I called for a price for an initial consultation, they told me it's $150 because it requires X-rays from some different X-ray machine. Went to the consultation and was given a bill for $150 consultation and $200 X-rays. They got me. Glad I wasn't charged extra for them using gloves, chairs and whatever else they can get creative with. read more

Dr. Aslam did my husbands teeth. His bridge broke and he needed implants. He said he did such a good job and thinks he is the best dentist.

I was sent to Dr. Gantes by my regular Dentist. The facilities are clean and the staff are all super friendly. One gal there did my insurance check and sat down with me to explain the costs associated with my procedure. She made it seem completely affordable. I was told my insurance would cover 50%. Next thing I know, I am getting bills from them saying that insurance only covered about 10% of the procedure. Had I known this, I never would have started the dental work in the first place. I feel like I got scammed. Which is a shame since they seemed like such a nice team. I will be going elsewhere for the the rest of my dental work. read more

Very pleased with the service here. I was never sold or pressured to consider any treatment or service. I went in for periodontist work. They carefully explained what was medically necessary (or would soon be) and what was cosmetic. They explained the process and what the recovery would be like so I had all the information to make an informed decision on my treatment. The actual work was amazing. I truly didn't feel anything. BEFORE YOU GO SEE Gantes YOU NEED TO READ THIS. He comes off extremely trustworthy, tells you what you want to hear, quotes you prices that are very reasonable. So I hired him, he pulled 5 teeth, I eventually found out that 2 were unnecessary and before you know it his prices go from $2100.00 to $3600 and then to $5700 an implant. He will take unnecessary x-rays and send you to get cats scans next door to his office because he owns it. Half the time you don't even need these cat scans. How do I know this? I've taken my X-rays and Cat Scans to two other periodontist and I'm now putting together a lawsuit against him because these other two doctors believed Gantes took two teeth out that didn't need to be pulled. Remember, I'm not questioning his surgical skills, it's his character, he has none! FOR EXAMPLE, 3 of my teeth need a bone graft which he should have done at the same time he pulled my teeth. Now it's going to take several months longer for the whole procedure. Plus the bridge he gave me is old-fashioned, they have much better ones now. Why does he do this? For only one reason, to extract more money from you!!! It's really a shame when a doctor takes advantage of the system and a trustworthy patient. I'm sure glad I decided to send my x-rays and Cat Scans to two another doctor for a second opinion because now I'm going to save $10,000. Gantes, KARMA will find you and so will I, in court!!! P.S. My recommendation: If you truly want a good dental implant experience (if there is such a thing!) then I strongly recommend you go and see a real professional like Dr. Bernard Gantes and his team. Am not exaggerating when I say Dr. Gantes probably saved my life by taking me in when my 2 failed implants (installed 2 months earlier by a different DDS - a Dr. (and I use the term "Dr." loosely) Aftabi up the street) were failing horribly, gums/jaw bone were badly infected, implants abscessing, etc., and performed emergency oral surgery to remove one of the failed implants (which was so loose & infected etc., by this time he was able to remove the failed implant with his fingers!). Dr. Gantes emergency oral surgery and follow-up helped to mitigate the massive jaw bone and gum related infections resulting from the 2 failed Dr. Aftabi implants months earlier. I feel strongly that if not for Dr. Gantes and his team taking me in to fix what the other implant person botched I would have for sure ended-up in the hospital, or worse! I was referred to Dr. Gantes by another oral surgeon who said he is the very best. He wasn't wrong. I had to have my FRONT tooth removed (external root resorption) and get an implant. Luckily my bone was good enough to have it all done at the same time. I had a terrible oral surgery experience when I was 12 (8 teeth extracted) and needless to say I was extremely worried about doing this. Dr. Gantes is VERY gentle and professional. The tooth that he pulled was slightly crooked but he took the time to break my impression mold to make sure that my "fake tooth" retainer was straight. (since I have to wear it for 5 months while I heal.) The staff was totally awesome as well. Connie (surgery assistant) was with me the entire time. She was so sweet and calming. The entire experience went so much smoother than I thought it would. I wouldn't choose to do it again, but if I had to...I'd definitely go here. :) read more

This is my first review ever. In the last several years, I have had a total of four implants performed all by Dr. Gantes. Among the many "horror" stories regarding botched implants by other dentists, after research and patient referral, I chose Dr. Gantes. Being a physician and quite "chicken" when it comes to my own care, I found Dr. Gantes to be very informative and calming. Dr. Gantes' technique is excellent and I experienced no pain. His work is efficient, fast and overall superb. The office staff were professional, pleasant and worked well with me, addressing all matters of paperwork and payment schedules. His charges are well within the norm. In my opinion, if you need dental implants and would like it to be done correctly and with no complications I would seriously consider him.
