Here was luck. From a home magazine I took a chance, and called Seal Systems. We desperately needed a good Mexican Saltillo Paver man. Turned out Edgar Mora has been in the business over 20 years and knows people we know in this specialty field. His crew is outstanding. Anthony, Robert, and Javier. There is one other gentleman and I regret that I cannot remember his name. We got along well with Edgar from the beginning, and he was very fair in his price. These guys are all really hard workers. Good humored and a pleasure to be around. Our floor turned out to be a very difficult job. Very labor intensive. The sort of job others walk away from. As well, unexpected rain caused a delay mid-job. However, with flexibility, patience, and serious elbow grease Edgar and his team got it done for us. I recently purchased a new home with Slate flooring in the kitchen. The flooring was filthy with all sorts of grease and stuff stuck on the floor and in the grout, as you can see in the before picture. We priced out two companies and went with Seal Systems because they sounded confident in what they do and their pricing was slightly lower than the other company we looked in to. The crew was nice and all, but they VERY did sloppy work. I sent an email to the Mike (Manager/Owner?) asking if the crew could clean up the mess they made and never received a response. We won't use them again and don't recommend them. To be specific on the issues: 1) They didn't protect the adjacent wood floor so the stripper took off the wood finish along the edge. They said "no problem, we got something to fix that". I don't know what they used to "fix" it, but it made it stand out more and now were left with a wood floor issue. 2) They put protective tape on the walls in most places and especially for the stripping process, BUT did not protect all walls when they did the sealing. So there are shiny mop marks all along the base of our painted walls now. Not cool. 3) They stepped on the floors when there was stripper on the floor, then tracked that on to our wood floors in a handful of places and now we have to have the wood floors touched up/refinished to fix their mess. The fact that the Manager never responded to my concerns is really bothersome. I attached a few pics showing the sloppy work that created EXTRA work for us! UPDATE: The owner posted a comment stating "When she called I apologized...", however I never called him, I emailed him, and he never responded to the email. He also stated one of his guys "called me and left his return phone number, but he never received a call back", which is also not true. I never received any communications from them once I sent them my concerns via email. No missed calls from them either. He may be confusing me with a different dissatisfied customer. read more

After doing some research I chose Edgar from Seal Systems to re-do our Mexican pavers, which are only 3 years old, but never had the "shine" we wanted. He showed up on time, with 2 very polite young men, and they worked very hard for almost 6 hours. Very little inconvenience, one place said it would take 4 days, and our floor looks beautiful! Just to let anyone know that is listening that Edgar Mora is liar and crook, Be aware of his work-- he will take your money and not do the job right or not at all. He took $1500 from me and didnt even clean my tiles nor did he give me my money back. I had to hire another company to do the tiles ,I found out that he just took over this company from a man who had excellent reputation and workmanship but Edgar Mora isn't!!!! I reported him to the Contractor License Bureau because he advertised an license that belonged to the previous owner. Mr. Mora is under investigation.. I am not a big fan of Satillo tile...however my entire downstairs is all tile as it came with house we bought 30 years ago. It needs to be maintained regularly to look good. It was stripped and resealed several years ago. Edgar and his crew just redid them again. They brought them back to their natural beauty. He and his crew are timely, efficient and reasonably priced. Ok- we had trouble finding anyone to do what needed done. We had outrageous quotes. Finally, the head of a very reputable company (who could not do the job) suggested Seal Systems was the only one with the skill set that we needed. I took 1 look at the bad review and started to run, but the other company assured me. Glad I stuck it out!!! Not only could they do the job, they were conscientious, on time, honest, and with a reasonable price. After some research I realized that steam cleaning would not be good for the longevity of my grout and stone. None of them wanted to work on my Saltillo Mexican Pavers. When I asked if they would call me next year for another visit they responded that the sealer they used would be good for 5 years and that I should call them in 5 years. I loved that honesty. My porcelain tiles looked horrible since a previous owner had applied a glossy coating on what is supposed to be a natural matte to look like stone. It absorbed dirt and looked uneven. A carpet cleaner said they could clean our tile/grout the same day as our carpet, which we did and the results were worse. They didn't know what they were dealing with, so some of the coating came off, but not all, leaving a streaky appearance. I found Seal Systems and other tile specialists, and I decided to go with Seal Systems. They were able to assess the problem over the phone and confirmed it in person. Tyler came for the free estimate and discussed the issue and solution of needing to strip the glossy coating and seal the grout after. He did a sample with his hand applied method, which worked nicely. I felt relieved to know there's a solution and the dirty glossy coating mystery was solved. He was also prompt at giving me a reference of a similar job to call, per my request, who gave glowing reviews. Two other companies never got back to me with references and after research of methods, Seal Systems was the best...done by hand and with the most effective tested materials from years of experience, in addition to BBB ratings. Mike by phone and Tyler in person were also nice people to deal with. They were patient with my questions and took the time to explain everything. I was actually complimented on being thorough, which dishonest, unprofessional, or inexperienced companies wouldn't like. Mike's passion for what the company does is evident. Tyler and Zak who did the job in a day were very polite, professional, and did a great job. The best part is how they masked off all the baseboards and appliances. Seal Systems sealed my tiles and just a year or so later my tiles are badly damaged by weather. I really question the quality of sealer they used. My tiles dont seem to be protected at all and are so damaged they might need to be replaced. Very disappointing. read more

Great way to get your pavers looking good without having the huge expense of removing all of the sand and powerwashing (which doesn't always work) to strip old sealer. This is an update of an earlier review. I had my pavers stripped and resealed 7 or 8 months ago. For the most part they looked really good but there was an area that needed touch up and it had annoyed me. Anyway Tyler called me soon after I left my original review just a couple weeks ago and was more than happy to come back and touch things up. I would definitely use his services again. Tyler I also owe you a bit of an apology. I just noticed when I went to text you this morning, there was an unsent text from me to you from last summer giving you details about the job. With the latest iphone I find that has happened to me on several occasions(not hitting the send button accurately). We have Mexican paver tiles that had been painted over and over again for the last few decades and were thick with heavy paint. We had a tile guy come out who tried to strip the paint, but it was so thick that after one day he said he could not complete the job. He recommended Seal Systems, and they saved the day! If you read the reviews you get a picture of a very amature company, that will not get back to you if you have a problem. They did a completely invisible job, with no results, hardly surprising when they turn up with two dirty buckets and some rags. Tiles looked the same after service, was promised shine, got none.
