We shared the firecracker shrimp, the spicy tuna rice, and I got a blueberry mojito, and she got the grapefruit spritz. The firecracker shrimp was a good sharing portion for two, the spicy tuna rice was so insanely good, i wish more than 4 pieces were included due to how good it was! What a great restaurant with great food! I'd easily come here just for the churro ice cream sandwich dessert alone. I've never had fish and chips but I feel like I'll be greatly disappointed by other places after having this meal. The fish was seasoned really well and was crispy just like I love. It was a great tartare sauce as well. It's a smaller space than some other restaurants but I never felt claustrophobic or like I couldn't hear my dinner guest across the table. This was one of the most uncomfortable bar experiences I've had. I walked in wearing sweats and a tank top. I was greeted and able to order, but after that the atmosphere went downhill fast. The bartender was cursing excessively and even made a disgusting comment, joking "who creamed in here" about something in the fridge. It was unprofessional and gross. What really pushed it over the edge was the difference in treatment. I was never offered water, never checked on, and eventually the bartender actually left during my time there without a word or any transition to another staff member. I sat there ignored. Then another person walked in, dressed nicely and clearly someone they knew, and suddenly the energy completely shifted. They were warmly greeted, immediately offered water, and given attentive service. The contrast was blatant. I felt judged, dismissed, and unwelcome simply for how I looked. Seamore's in the Clarendon area was a great choice for dinner on a Saturday night. We didn't have a prior reservation and the host was super accommodating and we were sat immediately. We ordered the Coconut shrimp, tuna crispy rice and oysters to start and everything was delicious (special shoutout to the tuna crispy rice). For main entrees we ordered the lobster Mac & cheese and linguine clams (both stars of the night). The linguine clams sauce was definitely my absolute favorite, as it was very very flavorful and rich. The lobster Mac and cheese is on the saltier side of flavors so please keep in mind, however, it is delicious. All in all a great experience, this is our fourth or fifth time and we will be returning! read more

Seamore did not disappoint! I'd been for brunch before but decided to come back for dinner and so glad I did! From the apps to the entrees everything was tasty. Loved the shrimp tacos, the shrimp was well seasoned and went well with the guacamole in the taco. I enjoyed the drink of the day, which was the Berry Smash a wonderful gin cocktail. For my entree I enjoyed the scallops with option 2 and miso sauce. The scallops were amazing the sauce too salty, but enjoyed non the less. Seamore's is one of my favorite spots in Arlington to take the family to. It's centrally located right in Clarendon, across from the Whole Foods and steps from the Barnes and Nobles and a nice playground for the kids. Speaking of kids, they also seem very kid friendly and ours loved coloring with the crayons and pages they were given with the whale character logo. So, this is a seafood restaurant. I'm allergic to most seafood! But the ambiance brings me back and the nice windows that surround the space. I also love a good lobster roll and always enjoy ordering theirs. There is the traditional Maine lobster roll, which is what I love the most, served cold with mayo. They also a warmed-up lobster roll, called Connecticut style. It has melted butter in a toasted New England-style bun. Could be good? But I always go with the Maine version and keep it healthier by swapping out the fries with a side salad. The kids menu has some nice offerings of fish, mac n' cheese, burgers. Mostly your standard kid menu stuff. They also have a very nice wine and cocktail offering. On this past visit, I ordered the Seamore's Salad topped with grilled chicken. It was surprisingly good. My daughter wanted the lobster roll so figured I'd get something different (and could always still have some of hers!). After dinner there are always plenty of places to walk around to like the Barnes and Nobles. Note, reservations are probably a good idea on a busy night since the size of the restaurant is pretty small. read more

We walked in a bit after 1100 on a Saturday. The decor was cute in a relaxed sort of way. There were three tables with customers already. We waited by the front for over a minute before I wandered to the bar to ask about seating. Once that was sorted we were took recommendations and placed our orders. We had Firecracker Shrimp as an app, my spouse had Lobster Egg Benedict and I had the Salmon with Jammy Egg and a Bloody Mary. The Firecracker Shrimp was great! Nice flavor and large portion size. The lobster was underwhelming in the eggs Benedict. The Jammy Eggs were cooked perfectly, but the sauce had an odd sweetness, needed salt, and a see no purpose in frying the taste out of capers. My Bloody Mary looked nice, but was so thick with seasoning it was like trying to drink a soup through a straw. I left 2/3rds. So here's the thing; I would still greatly prefer trying a spit like this over The Cheesecake Factory on the next block. It was a nice atmosphere with friendly people. I walked into the restaurant on a weekday night, no one was in the front to greet me. I don't know if they were under staffed or just busy cleaning up. Eventually someone came by and seated me. The decor and ambience was nice, and the waiter was friendly and knew the menu well. I ordered a vodka based martini, clam chowder, and squid ink pasta. The martini and clam chowder were great no complaints here. As for the squid ink pasta the shrimp seemed a bit overcooked. Personally I think I just came on an off day and will try this place again someday. read more

I got the daily fresh catch of the day which was monkfish. Very interesting fish as I don't believe I've had this before. The waitress told me it was considered the "poor man's lobster" and i have to agree. The meat was meaty and had a lobster like texture. It was good, but the flavor wasn't like lobster, and the sauce couldn't redeem it. The bean shallot was ok, and the cauliflower mash was pretty good but don't think I'd get this dish again. My fiancé and I ate at Seamore's for my birthday because we were craving seafood. We sat inside, which is very nice and feels open concept with the giant windows. We started with the watermelon salad, which was a nice and light starter. The tomatoes and cheese worked really well with the watermelon, though we felt there could have been a little more of each to balance how much watermelon there was. We both then got the Reel Deal for our dinners: I got the sesame tuna with option 2 (potatoes and cream spinach) and mahi mahi for him with option 2. Both were delicious and filling. The service was good, our waiter was great and when there were two minor mistakes with our order (wrong drink and wrong dish delivered), he was quick to fix it and without issue. We really like Seamore's, but it is more expensive than a normal night out, and a little bit debatable if the high prices match the quality. But overall we will be back. read more

Cannot believe how great this restaurant was! Food was well thought out and tasted so fresh. My scallops were with a perfect sear on them. The side dish under it has a delicious light lemon flavor. I normally do not finish all the food but I cleared this plate- cleared it- it was delicious!! Lindsay our waitress was so helpful and really attended to us the entire time. I wish I could give half stars. I think this place would be a 3.5 overall, but I'll round up to 4 because the employee who helped us the most kept their cool despite someone being a turd. The service at first wasn't great but wasn't terrible. I think the person maybe just started their shift or was in a funk. The main server, though, was nice and answered questions that were asked. They were also very patient and still kind even after our friend was way more direct than I would ever be about his food. Thank you for not losing your shyt or returning the same energy to our friend. We addressed it after it happened. The place itself is cute. I like the indoor and outdoor seating. Now the food and drinks. All of the food and drinks I ordered were good. Nothing phenomenal but I would order them again. I moved from Hawaii, so I have a certain standard for poké. Like I said though, still good. Some got shrimp tacos and another got oysters. The oysters were good, I'd have again. 1 out of the 3 thought the shrimps tacos were okay. They were in town from California and also have a standard for seafood tacos. Anyway, the other two were not a fan of the shrimp tacos. I tried a shrimp because I didn't understand the attitude about them.....welp, I agreed. The shrimp had like a river, hose water type taste. I don't know how to even describe it. Seamore's is my favorite seafood restaurant in Arlington. It's one of the few spots that I go to again and again, and I never get sick of it! The food is exceptional, from the raw bar to the rotating list of entrees. The fish has always been cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portions are ample. I usually go for the Reel Deal with the butternut squash spaetzle and creamed spinach sides. The ambiance is also inviting. It's light and airy, with big open windows and outdoor seating when the weather allows. You'll see families, couples, and coworkers all dining here. It's classy without being stuffy. If that wasn't enough, Seamore's is devoted to using fish that is sustainably caught or farmed. This is the cherry on top for me. So if you like seafood, try Seamore's. read more

I can see why this place has such good reviews! As soon as you walk in to the restaurant, you are warmly greeted... We ordered the watermelon salad and lobster rolls. The juicy heirloom tomatoes and sweet watermelon, accompanied by ricotta salata and the most amazing dressing, made for an incredible salad! So good! Tried to copy it when I got home, but it wasn't the same. Ha! The lobster rolls were some of the best we have ever had! The roll was wonderfully toasted and stuffed with lobster meat! Seated in a super comfortable booth in the bar area. This is where Chris introduced himself to us--our personality plus waiter. Helpful, informative and funny! Hats off to Chris! Narrangansett Lager draft was solid start. Three of us were able to sample a good portion of the menu. The Clam Chowder bowl led us off and was homemade, rich, fresh with plenty of clams, bacon and potatoes topped with a pleasing mixture of spices. We tried the Fish & Chips, Crispy Mini Baha Fish Tacos & the Haddock (simply grilled). The Haddock was served over brussels with bacon, shiitake & sticky rice. All were good but the Haddock was a cut above the others. Haddock comes with a choice of sauce on the side--I went with the Miso Sesame. We were stuffed especially after having a bowl of their famous Clam Chowder. But the Pumpkin Tart is absolutely extraordinary--airy. Seamore's deserves a narrow, but close nod over another top notch seafood restaurant not far away in Ballston--Salt! We could not decide who had the better Clam Chowder--both are outstanding. In my previous 3-star review for a truly mediocre brunch experience, I noted that this place seemed to have potential and I would be willing to come back and try it for dinner. I did. I was hopeful. But dinner was an even more disappointing experience. This restaurant seems to have a lot of good reviews, so maybe I'm just not getting it, but as a pescatarian I have eaten *a lot* of seafood and... yeah, I don't get it. Maybe it's a consequence of having lived for prolonged periods in coastal areas, I don't know. But not only have my meals here offered paltry portions for the price, my dinner wasn't even tasty. I wasn't impressed with the ambiance or value at Salt Line in Ballston, either, but at least the cut, preparation and flavor of the fish I received there were good. I can't say that for Seamore's. So. Seamore's offers this dinner option where you pick your fish, you pick your sauce/preparation, and you pick two sides. Swordfish was an option and I normally love swordfish. As a pescatarian, swordfish is the closest I ever get to steak. It's thick, juicy, gamy, meaty and dense - or at least it's supposed to be. My fiance's brother grills swordfish kabobs for me when we come over and they are these big, meaty chunks of flavorful, juicy nomnomable fish. In restaurants in actual coastal cities I have had veritable steaks and rounds of grilled or baked swordfish that are like eating a filet mignon - inches thick and endlessly satisfying. The swordfish I received at Seamore's (see photo) was like a dried out chicken breast that had been cut horizontally in half, or a pounded veal schnitzel (without the flavor). When I saw it I didn't even recognize that it was swordfish and I thought maybe they had brought me the wrong item. When I bit into it, it had a really weak flavor that faintly resembled swordfish, but it was not delicious, not juicy, not meaty at all. I said something to the server, she acted like it was totally normal. I feel gaslit. Meanwhile, I had ordered my theoretically-this-was-swordfish prepared with a spicy red curry sauce that was not spicy and honestly didn't even taste like curry. It added no value - and it needed to, because the fish certainly wasn't doing the heavy lifting. I had ordered it with spaetzle and spinach. The spaetzle was bland, mushy and boring, and not filling. The spinach it came with was spinach. Consistent with the tacos he had ordered at brunch, my fiance's tacos tasted fine but were way too small in portion for the price. This was so painfully disappointing and unsatisfying. Plus you have to pay for table bread. 0 for 2. Not coming back. read more

Seamore's for dinner was a treat! I enjoyed drinks with my friends, then we ordered food. For my cocktail, I got a watermelon basil spritz, which was quite basil-y, but deliciously fresh tasting and great for those who don't want a super sweet drink! For my entree I went for the "Reel Deal", which is a protein of your choice and two sides. I got the Seared Sesame Yellowfin Tuna $30 and the base of Butternut Squash Spaetzle, Creamed Spinach, with the sauce choice of "Charred Scallion". My favorite part of the dish happened to be the butternut squash spaetzle and creamed spinach (great spinach!). I wasn't as much a fan of the tuna. Maybe because it was seared a bit, it didn't have the tender taste/texture of raw tuna, but then again, I knew I wasn't at a sushi place. You can see in the photo it isn't the normal bright red/pink color either. I do think the Reel Deal is a good deal though, with plenty of food. read more

I joined a friend on a Monday evening for an early dinner (5:30) so the restaurant was just warming up for the evening and there wasn't a lot of activity. Our server was attentive and responsive. The atmosphere was clean and fresh and quaint. We ordered the Brussels and fennel salad to share, which was delicious. Would definitely order that again. I really liked the concept behind the Reel Deal and ordered it with scallops but I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor combo or the sauces and neither complimented the scallops. Honestly though I'm not sure the base for the reel deal would have complimented any of the fish from the menu because the base was just an odd combination of things. I think it would make more sense to have two-three different bases and then a selection of fish. One base should absolutely include a lemon, caper, white wine sauce and flavoring. My husband loves seafood so we tried this place for Father's Day. The service was okay, our server was pleasant and checked on us, however the food was just average. The MP lobster roll was more like a lobster salad with lots of mayo on a bun, not comparable to your traditional New England lobster roll. The salmon Benedict sounded really cool because it came on a hashbrown instead of typical English muffin, however the hash brown was extremely dry and hard and difficult to bite into. Parking around the location was solid, lots of street parking where you could pay by meter. Had reservations and was seated quickly so no issues there. I hate how close the seating is as it doesn't give much room for intimate conversations but overall the atmosphere was nice. I had the Punch Milano to drink and it was really good. Main course I had the fish and chips and it was amazing. Found this restaurant for brunch when I was planning to go to another place that was full. It was a pleasant surprise and I can't wait to go back. The first thing I appreciated when we walked in was how family friendly it is. I was a bit nervous about taking my 3 yr old to a new place several tables had kids and they had high chairs and kids coloring activities on hand. The staff was also very friendly. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh, presentation was great and everyone at my table enjoyed their food. I had the lobster benedict and am still thinking about how great it was. The portions were also very generous--there was actually more lobster than I could eat which doesn't happen often. Other people at my table had pancakes and fish tacos, both were a hit. Seamore's serves delicious, fresh fish dishes, with a rotating selection of fish that they say are chosen based not only on what can be found fresh but also based on the availability of sustainable sourcing. I'm not super knowledgable about sustainable fish management, but they provide a fair amount of information on the fish sources and, while I'm often a skeptic of "sustainability" claims, as far as I could tell they're the real deal in that regard. While they have other entrees available, their "Reel Deal" is the centerpiece of their menu. With that, you choose one of two selections of a couple of sides, your preferred fish or shellfish, and one of four sauces. It's a simple preparation that lets the quality of the fish be the star of the show, but I chose their red curry sauce (much lighter and a little milder than a Thai red curry, but a similar flavor profile) and my wife chose the lemongrass aji, and they were both delicious. The decor isn't elaborate and seems almost casual with its cement floors and hand written signs. But, it manages to also feel very classy with its carefully chosen lighting, nice script styles, etc. Like the entrees, it's great but holds back to avoid overshadowing the fish. When you hear "fresh caught, sustainable seafood", you may hear the cha-Ching of a register in the back of your mind. Seamore's isn't quite cheap, but when we added up an appetizer, a couple of cocktails and a couple of entrees where we weren't trying to order the cheapest thing, the total came out to be pretty in line with what we'd have spent going to other nice sit-down restaurants in the area, so it seemed pretty reasonable for high quality seafood. The service was also very good. If you like seafood, Seamore's is a great place to have it. read more
