My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to our hotel in Portland, Maine. We both ordered lobster rolls and I also had a cup of clam chowder. The lobster rolls had abundant meat and not a lot of condiments so you could really taste the lobster. The chowder was delicious and nicely seasoned. We ate outside, where they have picnic tables. This is not a restaurant. It is a market so they do not have table service. The staff was very friendly.

Great Lobster "Outlet"! After hitting the nearby outlets in Kittery and not being able to get a table at a restaurant in the vicinity, decided to just grab some Lobster rolls here for lunch. Even though the price for the Lobster Rolls here are pricey, with a bag of chips, these were close to $30 for the large roll and a little over $16 for the smaller version, these were really great Lobster rolls. The bun was slightly toasted with just a smear of butter that complimented the lobster meat peeeerfectly. The Lobster meat was fresh, tender, and cooked just right, every bite was delicious. I'd say this is one of the best lobster rolls I've had ever! For those wishing to dive into their food ASAP, there are picnic tables outside the store. Sadly the only con being there isn't much of a view except for cars passing by on route 1. Finally, ordering ahead was easy over the phone and ready in 10 mins on a weekday. The inside of the store is super clean and spacious with lobster tanks in the rear. The live lobster prices didn't seem cheap but they did have some specials for larger lobsters and the staff seemed eager to pack some for those on the road. Now about the name of the place, the fact that it has the name "outlet" in the name is slightly off in my view. Understanding that outlet could be defined as a place where surplus goods or merchandise are discounted, it's not really a place I would think of if I wanted to eat a Lobster. It's not really next to, but it is somewhat near the Kittery outlets as well, so it's not hard to make a correlation. Now that I know it isn't really an "outlet", I'll be dropping by the next time I am in Kittery for sure.

    Three 1.5 lobster dinners

We were headed out of Maine and this was our last lobster dinner!!! I wish I could have eaten all the lobsters we had here!! Absolute perfection and had 2 big bowls of chowder very affordable and delicious. All the staff in the shop were friendly and attentive. Bathroom was clean very cute gifts inside. Picnic tables outside to enjoy our feast! We even purchased an extra quart of chowder for the road. We r in an RV.

Amazing lobster rolls...just a walk up place with some tables outside, not fancy but the lobster was sweet and abundant with just a tad of mayo on a beautifully butter toasted roll. My go to place for lobster roll around here!

Lobster roll was incredible! Super fresh, well priced. This is a "no frills" experience but there are plenty of picnic tables outside to enjoy your food. Highly recommend!

This place is truly a hidden gem for the BEST lobster roll in New England. Trust me, as a true seafood foodie, I've eaten a zillion lobster rolls in my life! After accidentally stumbling upon it years ago, I've been coming back year after year to this amazing spot. Every time I introduce someone new to this place, they agree that it's truly the best lobster roll they've ever had. Just look at the pics!

When you think Maine - you think lobsters. Maine Lobster Outlet is where you can get fresh lobsters for the lowest prices. They have soft-shelled lobsters and hard-shelled. You can buy them live to bring home to cook yourself or have them steam it for you. There's a $3 cook charge per order, meaning, if you order like 10 lobsters they will only charge you $3 to cook all 10 of them - not $3 per lobster. There's also a prepared food tax if you choose to have them cook it for you. My only complaints are that it took 30 minutes to cook our 3 lobsters when we were the only ones in the market and they only have a few picnic tables outdoors if you choose to eat there - no indoor tables. If you are visiting Maine like I was, you can also fly home with the live lobsters as they have a way of packaging them for you so you can bring it on the plane as a carry-on. The New England clam chowder is really good. They have a small table where you can pour out your own bowl/cup. I don't even like clam chowder (I'm from the South so honestly I haven't had much exposure) but when I tasted the clam chowder here, it changed my views completely. They don't make it in house but they're not shy about disclosing that information. The clams had no grittiness to them whatsoever and the flavors were just delicious throughout. I love lobster rolls - I usually prefer the hot and buttered lobster roll VS the traditional chilled Maine lobster rolls but the traditional chilled Maine lobster rolls here are amazing! A regular roll is only $14.99 which is much cheaper than rolls I've had around the country. The lobster meat is sweet with just the right amount of mayonnaise. It's also served with a bag of Cape Cod kettle cooked potato chips. I also recommend getting a couple pounds of the steamers. If you like clams, the steamers here are really sweet, tender, fresh and super clean!

There's a lot of lobsters! Fresh ones that you can pick to take home, ship home or eat outside. Everyone is very friendly there and there's a few refrigerated items and a variety of souvenirs to purchase.

We ordered about 25 or so lobsters to eat at the outdoor shaded picnic tables and were served these cheerfully with melted butter bowls, bibs and nutcrackers.

Tons of locals seem to rate this business in extremely high regards and I can see why. You walk in…read moreand are immediately greeted with the pleasant smell of fresh seafood. And they have the displays to match. On this partly cloudy afternoon, I was in search of lobster tails. Upon requesting them, I discovered two things.. 1.) Unfortunately, the tails offered are not very big. Near as I can figure, they come in packs of 3 of what appear to be around 5 ounces each. 2.) Lobster really IS more affordable if you buy it in Maine. For context, a standard two pack of lobster tails at 5 ounces each (or sometimes 4oz) costs me around $25 in NH at the time of writing this review. The 3 pack of the same size tails costs the same price here at Taylor. So, naturally I bought two of those and ultimately nabbed a little under 2 pounds of lobstah for a mere $50. Sufficed to say - we will most certainly return at a future date. I have my eyes set on the fresh lobster meat next. As mentioned, everything in the glass display looked delicious. The place is easy enough to find. Just be aware their entrance is actually not in the front of the building, but on the right hand side. It's a little confusing at first, especially considering the tiny street view sign doesn't help much. If you drive into the "boat drop off" section, you're on the wrong side. Other items I wouldn't mind trying next visit are their lobster bisque and clam chowder. If you're coming across the border as I do, one pro tip I'd offer is to bring a cooler to keep your produce in for the day as you travel back. We transported the lobstah back in my car on an 85 degree day and the gel ice packs kept everything cold enough not to oxidize. Definitely check this place out for all your fresh seafood needs. The locals have spoken and I agree; Taylor Lobster Company is worth 5 fresh, buttery lobstah tails charred on the grill out of 5.

When you walk through the door, there is a little fish market in a room off to the right, or you can go straight to the register to place your order. Once you have ordered, you can take a seat anywhere you like and a delightful server will bring it to your table. My husband had the lobster roll with fries. The lobster meat was abundant and flavorful, the roll was appropriately buttery though a touch on the soggy side but not so much so that it reduced the experience. The fries were hot and crispy, malt vinegar and ketchup were available on the table. They have Athletic Brewing Co non-alcoholic IPA, which is a great accompaniment to the lobster roll at lunchtime, especially if you had to drive to get there. As a vegetarian who likes vegan fare, I was prepared to just keep my husband company, but I spied cinnamon French toast on the small chalkboard menu near the register, and immediately above that was listed avocado toast. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived, as I did not know it would come dressed with a healthy serving of spinach, two slices of fresh tomato, a generous sprinkling of goat cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette! The vinaigrette made the bread a little soggy, but it was still delicious and I was so happy that there was an option for me.
