We had lunch on the upper patio. Our experience was wonderful. There were 4 of us and the menu was broad enough to make everyone happy. My mom appreciated the chowder, since she had started her vacation with some bad chowder!! Everyone was happy with what they ordered. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was nice and juicy and the bun didn't fall apart. The fries were OK. We also shared a dessert. It was the blueberry lemon cheesecake, I think. It was pretty good, with an interesting crust. I might return here again, the view was fantastic. Latitudes at the Wentworth is an excellent spot for a warm summer afternoon or evening. My business partner and I stopped in for cocktails and dinner. While waiting for a table on the upper outdoor deck, we had drinks at the bar and received attentive & personable service from Ian. Once seated outside, the views across the marina, the boats, and the Piscataqua River were outstanding. A few mosquitoes were present but never became a real nuisance. The lobster salad came with a generous portion of meat, and my colleague's lobster roll with fries was equally well received. This is a great choice for drinks, dinner, or a longer visit if you are in the Portsmouth area. Highly recommended. read more

Our waiter Ben was fine. After that it went downhill. The place was not crowded and yet it took a long time for them to come and even bring us water. I ordered scallops and they were served half cooked. They didn't even taste like scallops. So I sent them back and I bet it took 20 minutes for them to bring back to me and at this point they were cooked, but they didn't taste like scallops. My friend had fish chowder, and the chowder itself tasted good, but there was nothing in it except potatoes. My friends daughter bought us acake at latitudes and although the flavor was OK, the texture was that of cornbread, not a nice sweet cake. and my feeling was that everything was way overpriced. Latitudes was simple an absolutely awesome experience. We were looking tor something totally casual still within the grounds of Wentworth and the place was recommended. It's upscale without being stuffy. It has superb service, we went there twice and the first time, at night, we struck up a conversation with a really friendly bartender who gave us a rundown of the nice places in the area to see and visit. The venue maintained good pandemic protocols with plenty of social distancing. And of course, the location next to the gorgeous docks with the yachts coming in and out, made the ambiance just delightful. But the most delightful part was when the super efficient waiter brought my lunch. I didn't want a heavy carbo lunch so I chose the lobster salad. Oh... My.... God.... It came out magnificently prepared in an attractive manner. And it was absolutely delicious. Hands down. A superb meal. Look, I don't know what people expect when they go to the resorts "casual" restaurant...this place, the food, our server, the hostess - all aces. They were busy sure - but people were humping to get orders in and served, glasses full, etc.. Food was awesome - lobster roll was simply amazing. Like a proper roll, the star was the lobster and they nailed it. Wife had chicken breast with orzo and loved it. To be honest, the only thing I would cite was an over abundance of boat shoe wearing pretentious asses pretending to be Thurston Howell IV. We've only been here a day, but without a doubt, the highlight thus far has been this restaurant and the people making it happen there. Keep it up - well done. read more

I thought the salad was excellent, with a sesame vinaigrette that was flavorful without being heavy. The cheeseburger was tasty, cooked almost correctly (my dining companion wanted it medium (pinker in the middle - this was closer to medium well), but appropriately sized for the bun. The fires were tasty, but not as crispy as we like them. Overall, we thought the experience merited a solid four stars, as the views from our harbor side table were beautiful, and the breeze off the water was much appreciated on this 90 plus degree day. read more

We looked forward to eating at Latitudes for 2 months. We brought our best friends with us to celebrate a date night. I will start with the positive and then the opportunities. The outside dining on a beautiful night is fantastic. Sage, our server, was very good and we tipped her almost 30% as we didn't want to penalize her for the subpar experience we had. She was sympathetic and checked on us often during our 3 hours and 20 minutes that we were seated. The food was very good. We had the crab cakes and homemade bread appetizer, both of which took almost an hour to receive from the time we ordered. For dinner we ordered the fish and chips and chicken sandwiches which were at least another hour after the appetizers. For us the opportunities outweigh the positive and we will likely not return. We arrived at Latitudes at 5:30 and were greeted by the host. He asked us to sit at a table as we wait for our dinner table. He assured us we could order a drink while we wait. We choose a drink and nobody came over for 30 minutes. Once our dinner table was ready, so were we with our drink order. Unfortunately, nobody came to our table for 25 minutes at which time my husband went over to the host and let him know. We were told Steven would be right over and another 10 mins or so went by and Sage came over. She quickly saw we didn't even have a glass of water. She apologized and took our drink order. She did say the bar was backed up (the restaurant was not full by any means). The drinks came 20 -30 later. They were ordered directly from the menu and not a special order. Other tables around us were having similar issues: no drinks, no menu, no server, awaiting ketchup (that took 20 mins according to the patron), long waits for drinks/food, etc. I did not see a manager during our visit. A manager could have communicated with guests and even comp'd a drink and/or appetizer to offset the very long and hungry waiting period. read more

I should have known that when I opened the menu and there was simply no paper inserts to read that this was going to be an evening to remember. Decent food, as long as you have nothing but time and money. Multiple things to complain about but the $16 margarita I ordered took well over 30 minutes to arrive at the table, with no garnish. A margarita with no lime? Tragic. Our shrimp cocktail came on a side dish rather than over ice. After waiting an hour for our salads and one burger it was evident that it had been sitting out for some time. We were comped a single peligrino bottle and our waiter was avoidant because it was clear he knew placing any more orders were going to back up the kitchen/bar. The bathrooms were dirty and the hostesses were standing around while tables remained unbused. It's clear management lacks authority or simply does not care. Views are nice for warm nights! We got there at 5pm and left at 7:45 so we're chilled by the end. read more

First two bites of chicken sandwich overly charred and then it was better but with hardly any burrata cheese it was a disappointment. Fish tacos were good though. Our server (who I guess is new) could use some more training in what's on and in the menu/food/drink items and keeping water filled but overall did fairly well. They just opened for the season and have some bumps to iron out in seating and service. Ran out of oysters by mid lunch. Argh. Tables sat dirty for a while. Food was overall OK (but we were also starving). Maybe because the kitchen was running slow/behind, but people seemed to stay at tables for a long time. A family of 6 next to us were there for nearly 2 hours for lunch! So expect to wait for a table -- if you can pin down the soft-spoken host to scribble your name on a note pad. He seemed green, scattered, and unsure, which made us fret that he would give away our table while we waited down the dock for 30 min. On our first night in town, we enjoyed an early dinner on the outdoor patio overlooking a beautiful view of the dock/harbor. I enjoyed the fish and chips and a pomegranate martini. We didn't have a reservation but there was an available table when we came over from the pool around 5pm. It was a great welcome to the area. I believe I reviewed this venue a year ago.. but somehow it's not showing up? Last year I gave it 5 stars. This year I'm between a 3&4. They open at 12vnoon and do not take any reservations. We were a party of 5. Recalling that there is only 1 outdoor table to seat more than 4, I arrived at 11:30 and waited for them to open... so difficult while you gaze out trying to imagine who owns the 2 super yachts parked at the dock below and so on, haha . The landscaping alone is just so beautiful.. truly a gorgeous resort. One by one my lunch companions arrived and right at 12 we were seated. Our server was as quiet as a mouse.. we were given one drink menu for the table, which was large. We asked for another and for some reason she left. One of my friends just got up and took one from a neighboring table. And so it began She returned and we ordered drinks. Their descriptions were quite involved, but sounded awesome. I ordered what was actually a spicy bloody Mary. Don't quote me, but I believe it was $15. What was eventually served ( a good half hour later) was a tall narrow glass with barely any vodka, what tasted like a mix with a sprig of dill floating. It was garnished with a petrified green olive and peppercini slice . If it hadn't taken so long I would have sent it back. No one in our party complained, but I could see they weren't thrilled with what they'd ordered either. We had put our food order in when our server brought our drinks.. I chose the house salad - I believe it was $14 and seemed simple enough. They stopped bread service. So I ordered a basket to be shared. On the menu it's described as garlic bread. It's actually slices of crusty bread with a side of faint trace of garlic infused butter and $9. My salad arrived.. everything looked fresh, but I was struck by the portion.. it was served in a large bowl. But not even half full. Someone else had ordered one with lobster salad.. same thing. The friend to my left ordered ahi tacos with fries and the portion looked perfect. To my right a chicken sandwich and fries. Perhaps it was the fries that filled in the plate but looked about right. Again, I did not complain. We were way into our 2nd hour and without asking how our food was? Did we need anything else? Etc it was kind of weird. Once finished our plates were cleared by other staff. Not once were we asked if we would like another beverage, water glasses filled etc. Dessert? Nothing. Our server brought our checks. We paid with lightening speed.. and that was it. I needed to use the restroom before leaving. However after reading other reviews and the luck I've been having lately, I did not. This place is just perfect if you are looking for a perfect view while you spend lots of money and time. It may have been an off day? but the quality has unfortunately just gone down hill. My wife and I stayed at the Wentworth for 4 days. The hotel, due to COVID was ehh... I did not have high expectations for this restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. This adorable chic restaurant is located at Wentworth by the sea resort. Definitely sit outside on the patio on a nice day, the view is beautiful. The waitress was very sweet. The mimosa was good. The bread they bring out at the beginning is nicely herbed. My lobster roll was so light yet creamy. Huge bits of fresh lobster. The bread was toasted well and buttered nicely. I enjoyed that the filling was on top rather than put in the center. The Cole Slaw was very healthy and also light on the mayo which was perfect. The pickle was homemade and not from a jar. Tried the salad and the dressing was tangy and worked so well with the lobster. During my last visit to the Portsmouth area, I got to experience a mighty cool dining spot called Latitudes. Try and visit during the early Summer to early Fall as that is when they have the outdoor seating open. Great views overlooking New Castle harbor. Food is prepared well, any appetizer is delish. Try the Cobb Salad with Lobster since they put a huge amount of Lobster on it. I found myself saying, "She's got huge...tracks of land..." when it arrived. (Compliments to anyone who gets the reference) A bit pricey, but well worth the indulgence. read more

Gorgeous setting. I suppose you're paying a bit for that. So be it. We had Sunday Bloody Marys (delicious & just right spicy). Then she had fish tacos and I had fish & chips. My F&C was perfect. Loved the crunch and super moist. Her tacos were generous to say the least. Both came with fries which are often just taking up room on a plate. These were fantastic!, seasoned and sprinkled w Parmesan. They were very good. Sadly our dessert was out of stock so we passed. My only criticism is the cost of a rather small Bloody Mary $13. It's way too much. I thought it was well made but I would not order again (or any cocktail) for that reason. Did not have it, but the lobster roll that went by looked worth every penny. Terrible service. Okay food. Tiny drinks. Over priced. Went here on 8/31/20 for dinner. Ate here a few years ago and it was good. But not anymore. It was chilly and we were sat on the deck next to the space heater which we were told was out of propane. Nice view of the boats but we couldn't see across the table as the umbrella was down. Had to arc around to see our friends. No hot coffee, tea or any warm drinks available. Food was small portions and alcoholic drinks were ridiculously small and weak. In an environment when many restaurants are going out of business I would have expected much much more for the price, location and the Wentworth. Dissatisfied and disappointed. read more

The location is beautiful. Right on the water. I ordered the poke bowl which was really delicious except the consistency of the rice was a little weird. My mom had the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad which she liked except the tomatoes werent really ripe and the crispy mint was weirdly sweet. Overall we enjoyed the food. The manager informed us that if our party arrived at 7:00 "there should be no problem seating us". We did and there was over an hour wait. with 3 young children in our group this was an issue. It went downhill from there. in short, it took way too long to place our order, the food was terrible, and the manager unapologetic. Yesterday went for a lobster roll and a beer.so this review/rating is for the lobster roll and not the unquestionably beautiful million dollar views. First, the crunchy chewy texture of the buttered and toasted roll you experience before the crunch of crispy lettuce and then to the main event. Fresh lobster with a hint on mayo, lemon and a sprinkle of chives. Well that was last year before I was in yelp. Unfortunately yesterday the roll was stale, not buttered and the lobster was Canadian cryovac, which isn't bad, but when live Lobsters are retailing at $3.59 a pound and your restaurant is in the heart of lobster country, well at best its just lazy. In my mind inexcusable. Also the mayo had no lemon or salt, no chives, no taste. The side of Cole slaw was tasteless and was served warm! The view is amazing in any weather and the updated menu is prepared with superb execution that you would expect from a high end resort. We had the tuna tempura app and it was outstanding. Lemme sum up: Great view/ambiance, great food and drinks, good service It's not summer until you've had a lobster roll and this is where I get my fix. I've been here several times in the past few years and Latitudes always feels like the place to be for the summer solstice. You're basically paying for the waterfront view of the Wentworth by the Sea's marina. There are some impressive ships docked there, too...definitely blue water seaworthy. Dress yacht club casual to fit in with the crowd here. Don't fret the price or the company, you get your money's worth in the quality and quantity. The menu offerings are typical New England summer seafood. I recommend the calamari, which is served with a spicy peanut dipping sauce and a half lemon in cheesecloth (trust me, your table neighbors appreciate it). The lobster roll is very large as I'm pretty sure they've stuff the entire chicken lobster in there, tail and all. What thoroughly surprised and pleased me was their homemade apple slaw. I really don't like coleslaw but this stuff was good enough for me to be looking at my husband's plate with a "You gonna eat that?" smile. For dessert, I just like to have another house classic mojito. And they make a great one...not syrupy sweet, not flat; a refreshing, effervescent libation with freshly muddled mint that really hits the spot. Service can be slow, but it's usually pretty good. Understandably, on a nice day, the place is packed on both outside deck seating areas and inside the building, proper. The staff do their best to keep a positive attitude. I'm sure they have their share of difficult and demanding customers (have witnessed some 'new money' types being royal pains), but they really shine most of the time. You want some local NH flavor? My sister and I have eaten here many times as she lives nearby. This is our "go to" place on a nice day for a view from the deck and great food. This particular day the view was beautiful the food very disappointing. My sister ordered the fish tacos which is now two instead of three to an order for the same price. The fish was not good. I ordered the Asian noodle salad with shrimp. The shrimp tasted like it had been pulled from a sweet dish that didn't match the flavor of the salad. Extremely disappointed. I met my dad there for lunch the other day and I have to say the food was amazing. I ordered the crab and corn cake as an appeitzer followed by the cobb salad. Both servings were plentiful and definitely couldn't finish them. The crab cake was one of the best I had and the added surprise of the corn was interesting, but very tasty, nonetheless. The cobb salad has bacon bits, olives, tomatoes, eggs and guacmole. All the flavors combined was really interesting but, blended so well together that I didn't even realize I was eating something healthy. We sat outside on the deck, which would have been great on a less hotter day. The waitress right away saw how hot I was and immediately brought over an umbrella and I didn't even have to ask which is great service. The view was amazing as it overlooks the Wentworth Hotel Marina. The only downside was the pool, was right next to where we sat so we could hear everyone's conversations. We come here each time we are in Portsmouth and we enjoy the atmosphere and view very much. We usually have drinks, but we have had dinner here several times. PROs: The staff is excellent, we see the same bartender every year and we always like to see that in a restaurant. The drinks are great. The view is just amazing. CONs: The food is just OK, not bad but not worth the cost (although one could say you're paying for the view) Because there is outdoor seating, there are flies that get in as the door opens all day long - but this a DRAG when you're trying to enjoy a nice (and not inexpensive) meal. Not to worry, though Latitudes is pricey, it's worth every penny, and you too can afford it, if you eat wisely. We don't spend more money eating at Latitudes, realistically, than if we we went to any basic chain restaurant. We usually each get their terrific chowder as a starter, and then get sandwiches for dinner instead of regular entrees. Don't get drinks or dessert, and you too can affordably eat at Latitudes, and you'll be full too, you won't even need dessert. Plus, you can always head down the street to the Ice House, and snag yourself an ice cream cone on the cheap. Everything at Latitudes always tastes great, looks fabulous, and the waitstaff is super helpful. So chowder. Get the chowder. And the lobster roll, a huge portion for the price you pay. The tuscan chicken sandwich is my husband's favorite. The sangria is delicious. It may be smart to make a reservation, and don't show up in ripped jeans and a tshirt filled with holes and a baseball hat. Latitudes is a classy place. read more
