Good food. Friendly people. I tried catfish for the first time. Good flavor. I wish the shrimp was a little more crispy but it was good.

Very nice layout and friendly atmosphere. Good take food, we'll price. Now that we're experiencing the pandemic the layout has changed much.

Been meaning to write this for a while, since last summer in fact!. Saw the nice reviews on fish n…read morechips and the mention that even though it was not right near the ocean the fish was fresh and the fries great, and that is what we found to be true. They drive in to the fish market a few times a week and bring it into the store. There is a display case for fresh fish and of course they cook it up to order. I got the fisherman platter which included fish and chips, perfectly cooked fried nice and crispy fries, with fried clams and fried scallops. Fries were perfect and came with a nice little coleslaw cup too. Couldn't finish it! My buddy got a baked stuff lobster and that took a few minutes. It was stuffed with scallops! We sat outside at one of two little tables. It was a nice day, very pleasant out and quiet a few locals came in to grab take out. The place is well regarded. The owner's dad was cooking, and his girlfriend Kathy I believe ran the counter and both were super nice to talk to. Told us their story. Everyone has one and it's always nice to hear how people come to do what they are doing. Very small store and other than the 2 tables outside it's take-out. Has a case with some items and T shirts. I almost bought one, but they didn't have any XL today. It's located in a little plaza not far from Attleboro that has the Chartley Country store. It's not near to me but it was a fun drive, a good time and the fried fish is fresh and yummy.

The food is fresh and it's just like a New England fishmonger should be! No need for frills just…read moredelicious seafood fresh.

Having been, now, a few times, I think the reviews are a bit understated. it is fresh, fast, kind. The drawback is that they do not have a huge selection, but I suspect that is because what they have is fresh. It also does not appear overpriced. I will go back.

On Christmas Eve, (La Vigilia), many Italian families celebrate the "Feast of the Seven Fishes"…read more The custom is to serve seven different seafood dishes, each one representing one of the seven sacraments. At least that's the version of the story we've always gone by. The usual menu (since I was a tiny tot) has always included: pasta with lobster, baked stuffed shrimp, bacala (salt cod) salad, another bacala dish; this one with a marinara sauce, pan-fried smelts, clams one way or another; often casino-style, calamari, and then whatever else suits us that year to total at least seven dishes. While I didn't appreciate aspects of this meal when I was a kid (read: any bacala dish), it's now probably my favorite holiday feast bar none with any and all bacala included. While I usually get my fish at Rockyneck no matter what time of year, the day or two leading up to Christmas Eve is when we've got to buckle down. The crowd is coming. Rockyneck doesn't steer us wrong. It's actually inside the Hingham Fruit Center, a store I love and which I've reviewed separately. It consists of one large seafood counter within the larger grocery store and is its own business. I'm generally impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the seafood they carry. The look of the fish is always pristine and I never hesitate over any of their offerings. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful and will do their best to get you the very best of what you need when you need it. Christmas Eve notwithstanding, this place is a conveniently located little gem.
