Set an appointment for my washer to be looked at on my only day off between the 1 and 5. Got my running around done in the morning to get home in time for the time window. A little after 12 i go to the bathroom figure i had a little time before the tech shows up. Come out to a text saying he has come and gone. It was only 12:17. WTF. Called the company. They noticed he showed up early and said they would send him back my way. Waited until 5 and he never came back. Called the company and they had no recollection of my previous call or what was said to me. I was out of luck getting my washer fixed. The repairman was very professional. He was not the problem. The problem is that when I scheduled the service on my 17 year old Kenmore, they could have asked my refrigerator model number and determined that all parts and the unit itself were discontinued and out of stock. In other words, ZERO parts were available to fix my refrigerator. Instead, they happily rolled out the truck and spent 1.5 hours reviewing the refrigerator only to determine that the couple of parts needed no longer exist. Sears is a joke and needs to terminate itself. read more

The technician and service were fine, but was over billed and spoke to 5 different people who are all in other countries to try and get it resolved. They told me it would take 7 days to investigate it and then 21 days for the refund. They make it impossible to get ahold of anyone that can help and I cannot believe it takes that long for a refund on something they did incorrectly. I will not use them again, I have spent more time trying to get my refund than the technician spent at my house. If you get the email about servicing your appliances for a discount, do not do it, they will most likely mess your billing up as well. read more

There seemed to be a leak coming from my refrigerator, the wood laminate under it and in front of it was bubbled up. My refrigerator was also making an unusual noise. Friends I spoke to, who had never repaired a refrigerator wondered if the water line to the icemaker/water dispenser was the cause. A Sear repair technician showed up and I paid the $130 + tax "show up fee." The technician took a panel off the back then a second technician (possibly a trainee) arrived. The two technicians fiddled with the icemaker/water dispenser and did not find anything to be wrong. They did find something was hitting against something else making the unusual noise. Neither technician could figure out the obvious leak. A week later I was able to get a local plumber to come and look at the situation. Within two minutes by pulling the water line up slightly he had determined there was a crack in the water line just below the floor. Why did the technicians not think to check the water line to the refrigerator when it seemed so obvious to people who don't even repair refrigerators for a living? Now I am out the $130 plus the money I had to pay a plumber. I even "chatted" with a "Sam King" online from Sears Home Services who said if the waterline was leaking just inder the floor then the technician would help me. I needed repair on my 5 year old washer and I called Sears and they came out the next day to service and repair it. The technician they sent was extremely knowledgeable and fixed the machine within 1/2 an hour and it works perfectly again. I buy a maintenance agreement every 2 years and it is so worth it. I was in Florida when my pipes froze. The plumber repaired the pipes but did not deal with dishwashers or ice makers. CALLED Sears UGGGGH. First issue- out sourced person with poor english skills. Tell him about Dishwasher and Ice maker. Sets up appointment. Bill arrives and says no part available for dishwasher and dishwasher-too old Turns on valve for ice maker! Charges me $106.92 and leaves. "Buy a new Dishwasher" Drive 35 miles to Sears. Store closed forever!!!!!! Nice ride. Call Sears -Long discussion about charging me and rescheduling an appt. Appointment made. Next day of appointment comes and I get a call from new service man John. Not coming. Dishwasher is too old and he doesn't fix ice makers. Incompetent, unresponsive and uncaring. This is not the Sears we grew up with. We called Sears Repair Service in July to fix our overheating refrigerator. The technician came two hours late (no call or apology) then spent 30 minutes on his phone. By this time I had to leave and my wife was in a zoom meeting. She did however pay the bill, although the tech did not give her a copy of the bill. The technician did not fix the refrigerator either. Thus began 2 months of struggle to get a copy of the bill, an explanation of the "work" that was supposedly done and at this point, a partial refund that was approved for us in early August which we have still not received. If you do dare to use Sears, be warned that you will be dealing with overseas call centers and that there is no way to speak to local technicians. The phone reps are sometimes helpful, but are saddled with an extremely disorganized system. If they don't know an answer to something they will lie or transfer you to non-existent departments. This has been disillusioning and nightmarish, the worst customer treatment I've ever seen. read more

Had Sears come to diagnose a Kenmore Elite wall mounted microwave/oven combo. Microwave was not heating. Cost is $99 for "Diagnosis" Technician looked at microwave for 2 minuets, turned it on but never tested it or removed any covers. He wrote up a bill for 4 different different failed components said it will be $1200 to fix we declined, he left. Called Sears to complain, they told me there are NO refunds on diagnostics.
