I'm giving two stars because the technician was super nice, very friendly and professional. But, as soon as he left, when we started the oven to bake my husband's birthday cake, it did not heat up at all. The technician did get it to heat up for a few minutes while he was here, but once he pushed the oven back into the wall and screwed it back in place, something happened to make it not work again. Very frustrating as we have been without an oven for weeks now. Very unprofessional! The technician came to exam our refrigerator and he was on his phone for instructions the entire process (10 minutes). What an on site training! He told us we need a 600$ exam fee for a special exam so he recommend us to get a new one. I mean didn't we pay your the exam fee already. After that my husband asked him a very relevant and basic question about the fridge not cooking well with the fence on but got better without it and he even couldn't answer. btw he promised to send a diagnosis paper but turned out to be some invoice with nothing about the diagnosis. 0 stars! On 7/13/19 my brother made an appointment with Steve Mecka. Keep in mind my brother is disabled and is not the home owner. I'm his POA because his illness deteriorates his brain function. To make a long story short this man comes into my home damages my newly painted ceiling and attic access. He tries to hide the damage to the ceiling by painting over it with eggshell paint rather than ceiling paint. I sent pictures of the damage to the supervisor Patricia Figueroa who tells me to call the cops to take fingerprints because Steve said there was no damage. Ridiculous that they would not compensate me for the damage done, I would never let them back in this house. Taking advantage of the disabled is disgusting. read more

My annual maintenance call was very informative. Not only was my fridge cleaned and checked out, but I was told how I can clean the coils myself and what to look for incase a problem comes up. This was my second appointment however, since my first was two weeks ago, was a no show. Not even a phone call the first time. Do NOT hire these people! They were hired to do a roofing job and ended up damaging multiple exterior components of my house. In addition I was charged an extra $1000 for "additional work."After numerous phone calls to the project manager Mike(north jersey) he said he would take care of it the damage done. Hi, I made an appointment for an estimate for a new roof a few weeks ago. The appointment was scheduled for  April 29, 2021, at 6 PM. I received an email confirming the appointment date and time.  About three days before the appointment, I received a call to change the time from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Good morning this is an important review to consider. DO NOT take out any protection policies for your appliances!Sears use to be good for service but NOW has been bought by different companies. After Sears acknowledged my dryer could not be repaired they said my replacement value was $990.00. They do not send YOU a check ! You must get it thorough them for replacement, I picked a dryer they were able to get ). The PROBLEM is it took 3 MONTHS. They set up delivery appointments n then said , due to a delay it had to be cancelled. WHO CAN BE WITHOUT THEIR DRYER FOR 3 MONTHS. You can NEVER speak to someone with authority (manager/supervisor) to help. You also are promised a call back. NEVER. Finally I received it after I was looking into small claims court or other methods for breech of contract by SEARS. I had to send threatening E-mails which I'm not even sure was being monitored. Not a WAY TO DO BUSINESS. I have every name and date for the 3 months of aggravation n will look in to REPORTING this to someone with authority!!!! Someone has to know what is going on. read more

The fact that I can't reach a person to talk too is beyond disgusting. My appointment was cancelled 3 times. I had to take off a total of 4 days from work. I could of just paid an outside person and it would of been cheaper. First you give an 8 hour window which is a joke. the technician told us our dryer just needed to be cleaned or serviced and that's why it was burning our clothes. he assured us the problem was resolved. the first load that went in the dryer after he left was burned just like before he was here. Worst service, will not recommend. I have master service plan. I called sears 3 items to fix heating system and the issue is still there. They asked me to schedule an appointment for service again. Please take this seriously.I wouldn't recommend Sears Home Service to My worst enemy. The company clearly has incompetent staff by phone and the technicians as well. A simple work order for repair that was done by phone was horribly messed up. 2 dates and they cancelled one bc the tech wouldn't wait for a credit card to be updated with Sears where we bought the dryer The service tech comes and would put back the vent because it's not his job, but charges 312.47 for one hour replacement of a thermal fuse. One part $12.34 comes taxed at 31.32 and the rest labor of $ 347.09 . NEVER EVER USE SEARS. Don't use them use some one else. Also when you ask to speak to a supervisor you can't get one. Punctual and thorough. Of course you have to expect some salesmanship such as the appliance service contract that my service rep was pushing- just enough. If you know what you want and what you don't want, you shouldn't have a problem because the sales push is not relentless or "hard". My service diagnosed a fan about to go bad and issue with the Icemaker on my 9 year old Kenmore side-by-side. The rep checked it out and gave me a clean detailed estimate on what the cost would be for the fan. For the ice-maker, he took it part, cleaned away some ice buildup, and checked my water line as part of the $99 diagnostic fee that you pay no matter what the service rep does (I've seen highly lazy efforts at collecting the mandatory diagnostic fee and this was not a lazy effort). Some time was also spent advising me of freezer operation and the importance of the compressor fan and the water trays role in the auto defrost function that many of our freezers have these days. Ordered and paid the parts $1146.01 same day. 11/04 technician came back again to install new parts. Next day didn't work. Called for service again. 11/19 3rd for service, technician said if it still not working then ask for refund. Next day didn't work again. Request and send email ask for refund on 11/20 no reply. 11/24 2nd email no reply, 12/1 3rd email no reply. Called 12/2 talked to Arnold representative. he set up the case #7322232 and submitted the claim for refund. He said will speed up the progress for refund $1047.01 (deducted $99 Diagnose fee on 10/14). 12/13 called Representative said wait until 12/21 to have reply. NO REPLY NO RESPONSE NO EMAIL. 12/29 called talk to Christian & Augustus Tucac (superviosr). Told us refund claim declined. Transfer the call another supervisor Yehuda. Yehuda said someone will contact us in 4 days and come to get back the parts and request the refund again. Totally brand new story need to be waited. As today 12/29 , 2 1/2 months Sears didn't provide the service repair and not refund. Refrigerator still in kitchen not working during the holiday. How much patience we need to have for Sears. We just want to get back the refund so that we can go to buy the new refrigerator. Very very disappoint with Sear repairs and service. I did not have a good experience with my service appointment on Tuesday, December 21. 2021. The technician stated he did not know the source of the problem and I would have to call and schedule another appointment. Unfortunately, that does not help me due to the fact they're no available appointments until after January 2022. Meanwhile, it's the holiday, I lost money on food that was purchased hoping they would've solved the problem. Noone is available to assist in an emergency situation and I spoke to five representatives who barely spoke English or understood the nature of my call. I'm extremely frustrated without my refrigerator working especially during the holidays and my daughter home from college. We've been eating out, which I cannot afford this extra expense. I have not received a returned call after requesting to speak with a manager and also asking the representative to submit a request to a technician for any immediate assistance.
