It took a month for them to come and diagnose our Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. They replaced the compressor with the "old" type compressor that has failed so many Kenmores and LGs, and is currently in a lawsuit (check in out online). They charged $422 for labor, told us it would be half that if we bought an appliance warranty. We said no. The refrigerator never did get cool enough to put in food. We asked them to come back -- another month. They said they would charge another diagnosis fee ($97). We hired a local company and they replaced the refrigerant for $80 and told us that Sears either over-filled or under-filled the refrigerant. Sears Home Services is a NIGHTMARE. Beware. Also, the phone reps can barely speak English. Was extremely hard to communicate. read more

Our Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator, less than 3 years old, stopped cooling. It took almost 3 weeks to get a repairman to show up. Although it was covered under Sears warranty we were charged $618 for labor. Ours was the third compressor replaced that day so it's a problem with the brand. Kenmore used to be reliable but now they are apparently made by LG which also have issues. Repairman did a fine job and it's still working 2 days later. Fingers crossed. read more

The repair man seem good at what they do but not able to determine what's actually wrong with your appliance was unexpected. A part was ordered and another day for repair was set up but no call and no show is what we received. Representative indicated no one was available and the part never arrived, my question was who is responsible for this the customer or sears? They wouldn't take responsibility for this incident. Mind you this was the four week with this appliance not working, we set another appointment and to no surprise no call no show. Worst customer service I've experienced in years!! Buy elsewhere and don't buy their extended warranty because they make it nearly impossible to use! You nearly have to argue to schedule an appointment for repair! The customer service reps give you such a hard time that you just want to hang up! Once the repair was completed, I feel it was done appropriately it was the process of getting it done which was so unsatisfactory. I could not get a Sears rep who had english as a primary language and it was almost impossible to communicate with them. At first contact the rep wanted to lead me through self repair or diagnosis when I was calling for a service call. I didn't pay $300 for a 2 year policy to self diagnose and do it yourself. Customer service was no help. I finally was able to get the repair done by dealing with the local service rep. read more

Today is December 27th and our refrigerator is still in disrepair. Seriously! Sears has made us wait 6 weeks to date. I was told they would repair it this Friday....I have been told they were sending a Technician many times....yet here we are still dealing with the issue of non repair. Sears should have expedited this repair. Instead all they have done for us is offer empty and unsincere apologies. I do not recommend purchasing a major appliance or Service Agreement from Sears. Sears do not honor it's warranty at all. I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator from them and the compressor went out in 2 years. I had to pay $516.00 to get it fixed. I also had to wait a 1 month and 1 week for them to finally come out because they kept telling me that it wasn't on them. They was lying. Bottom line is now I see why they are having to close their stores. The Sears Kenmore Refrigerator are made by LG with cheap parts and that's what their not telling customers. You will NEVER get that number to corporate or any contact info. This company or home warranty is the WORST! Buyers be ware. They'll promise you all this and that to get the warranty ...LIES OR UNTIL you need to file a claim. They'll tell you this is covered when it's time to file a claim it's EXCLUDED!! Filing the claim is the easy part after that it's down hill from there, SIMPLY A NIGHTMARE!! That youre paying for...Technicians that no show, if they do they have no parts then you wait again for another 3-4 weeks for parts to arrive, which by the way they won't notify you about when parts do arrive-you have to keep up with that and schedule another technician appt and it's starts all over again. Major and multiple issues with Lack of follow up, empty promises and a bunch of excuses. If I take a day off and another and another waiting for a technician to show up that never does we have a problem. A service call wait between 8-5 is purely ridiculous but then the technician no shows. When you call you get a bunch of excuses and unmeaningful apologies. Ask for a supervisor..forget it. They have 24-48 hrs to call back, a call which never happens. Ask for corporate, they claim not to have that information. 2hrs on the phone with zero issue accomplished, only to be scheduled for another service appt, another wait, another headache. If youre a fan of poor customer service, a headache, have time to waste, and throw money down the toilet ???? get this company. Took 2 Techs on 2 different calls to try and fix my water leak..... and I ended up finding the issue and fixed the leak myself.... Sear Service has become a Joke ! After finding water pouring out onto the floor we called Sears Service ..... as per our Warranty. Antonio, the Tech came out the first time, and said the issue was the fill port was mis-alined. He took the washer apart then had trouble getting it back together. Beating on the side and top of the unit, he had trouble getting it back together... I asked if I could help him, but he refused my help. He left, claiming it was fixed, 2 min later I was running down the street chasing him to come back as once again water was coming out onto the floor, plus the whole unit came apart as I tried to slide it over to mop up the water. Antonio went thru and worked on it a second time, again beating the sides and top console trying to get the unit put back together.... Once he left the second time we notice the top console was broken, which was not the case when he arrived. He told me directly that the unit would not be able to be put back together propertly because the washer was to old. I asked if he would stay to run a load , but said he had to get going, and was sure it would be fine ? If I had more trouble I could call Sear's Service ? He left, the washer leaked water again.... then came apart, again. Plus ..... now the washer would not stop filling with water, it would over flow ! Bottom line the washer is now worse.... I called Sear's Service and they recent out a New Tech named Joe the next day...... Joe told us that the water overing flowing issue was being cause by the pressure switch inside the Top Console, and he would have to order a new one. I then told Joe about the issues and abuse to the washer by Antonio, etc. Joe started re looking at the console and saw and took Pictures of the damaged to the unit caused by Antonio the day before to report it. Joe then found that the small hose inside the top console going to the Pressure Switch had become unattached during the work by Antonio. Joe as with Antonio had trouble getting the washer back together ..... However he stopped and said, well....I guess I need to do this right.... Then took the time to disconnect everything and work on the bottom based so that the washer would go back together. BINGO....THe washer went back together with out beating the crap out of it......... Joe Left and gave me his number to call if any issues came up.... Sadly I called Joe and report the water leak was back ! Joe said he would try and Get back to me. As I watched the washer I stuck my head inside to look at the top ring where the beach is dis-pursed and notice the small holes were plugged up and the water was going over the top and out onto the floor. I cut a close hanger, bent the tip and cleared the small drain holes.... PROBLEM SOLVED I Fixed what 2 Sears Service Tech's could not Fix ! Again, SEAR SERVICE ? The techs were good. It took almost 3 wks from initial call to the completion of each repair. We had the stove top burner replace and the icemaker replaced. It took a separate technician for each repair. On initial call, took a week for them to come out. They came out then we had to order the part and then another week to make an appointment to replace the part. Also, with a tractor repair, they gave me an 8 hr window. This is was the worst Sears repair service I have ever received. From the time I set up the repair service of my dishwasher it was filled with lies and deceptions. At the time I schedule for repairs I was told by the scheduling person that because my dishwasher was not under a maintenance contract that I would only have to pay $79 for a service call plus parts. On 21 Jan the tech arrived on time 10 mins. later he determined that I needed 3 parts (timer, solenoid kit, and dispenser cap). He order the parts on site and schedule a return visit for 11 Feb. I received a box from Fedex on 27 Jan so I call Sears scheduling, I was told that all the parts were in that box and they scheduled a turn repair visit for 30 Jan. When the tech arrived he opened the box and only found one part, he call his office reconfirmed the part order and I was rescheduled for 7 Feb. I call the scheduling office to confirm things and I was told that the parts were ordered and the repair appointment was confirmed. I received all parts on 6 Feb and called scheduling to inform. On 7 Feb the tech was on time open the box confirmed all parts were present, 20 mins later the tech confirmed that the solenoid kit WAS NOT needed. The tech took the solenoid kit with them and removed that cost from the bill. I was not able to see all charges when I sign the receipt nor was I told anything about diagnostic fees and labor charges for my services. I was told that the full receipt would be emailed. When I got to computer later that day I discovered that I was charged for $262.18 for diagnostic fees and labor charges. I called scheduling talked to Nathan for about 40 mins. with no solution, I ask for his supervisor Ski, and she said she would call me back in 3 hours. I never received a call from Ski. If I was told that the cost of the diagnostic fees and labor charges I would have never agreed to repairs. The parts only cost $57.84. Beware and make sure that you get all charges up front so you won't fall into a situation like this. read more

If you have Sears repair out to your home DO NOT get suckered into buying a warranty plan. You will never be able to reach the correct person. If you go online to schedule service be absolutely sure it's under your warranty and not through Sears home services apparently they are not the same never mind the fact they look similar and you continuously get emails from both. If you schedule with the wrong person he will still come out,do nothing, tell you this happens all the time and still charge you for the call. But hey, he will make the appointtment for you with the right person. They will come out, do nothing, order a part and tell you he has an appointment scheduled. So you get the part in the mail and an email telling you to call this number about your service. After lengthy efforts to get a hold of someone, they verify the appointment next day. Next day, the same email, same hassle getting to a person they tell you you need to schedule an appointment. You try to tell them you have one but she isn't listening to you, she is too busy reading her computer response. All this for only 600.00 a year and 75.00 deductable for each call unless you get the wrong service first then you pay 160.00 total for a 30.00 part and still wait for someone to come put it in. No wonder Sears is going out of business. read more

I would have to state at this point after giving Sears Home Repair service 3 (yes 3!) opportunities to fix my dryer and them collecting fees - NOT TO USE THEM. FOR ANYTHING. 3 Visits, fees, stating everything is fine and it isn't - - - most of you know I am smart enough to know when there is an issue with a dryer...........and $325.00 for a $110.00 part off the Internet with a 2-day delivery time? I checked in the mirror and I don't have the word "IDIOT" tattooed in my forehead. Horrible service, long delays, excessive "diagnostic" fees, long waits for parts, overpriced parts - - typical big repair service BS. The Sears ship is sinking and the Home Service is the anchor that will beat it to the bottom. And then the audacity to try and sell a home warranty system that doesn't "charge diagnostic fees" but charges a deductible with this kind of service? The Tech Everett put in his notes he "cleaned and serviced" the unit - - but he was only here 3 minutes on the 1st visit and 1 minute on the second.......(video surveillance Everett shows you are a liar!) To sum up after over a month, the repairman coming twice, and having my appointment being rescheduled 11 TIMES, my refrigerator is still broken. Horrible customer service! I called the service line on 8Feb and had to wait a week (15Feb) to get an "emergency" appointment after my 1.5 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator stopped cooling. The day of my appointment my "service window" changed 5 times. When the repairman finally arrived he looked at the fridge for about 5 minutes and said my compressor had a leak and it "happens a lot". Apparently not often enough for them to stock the replacement parts, which would need to be shipped to my house sometime within the next week or so. My follow up appointing was set, without consulting me, for 2 WEEKS (28Feb)away. The parts arrived in 3 days (18Feb) so I called the appointment line to see if my appointment could be sooner. I was told that was the earliest appointment was the one I was already scheduled for. On the day of my appointment (28Feb) I check the notification email to find that my appointment window has been changed from 8am-12am to 7pm-830pm!! I again call them and am told that the only technician has called in sick. I'll be put on the list for the next day. When the repairman comes the next day he tells me after looking in the 2 delivery boxes that they usually send a 3rd part when he puts in this order but that these parts "might be enough." As he leaves I ask him if he fixed it, to which he replied "Give it 24 hours, then I guess you'll find out" and shrugs his shoulders. 24 hours later: surprise, surprise! My refrigerator is most definitely NOT fixed. When I call for yet another appointment I'm told it will be another 5 days (6Mar). I will update this after the 6th. read more

Forget that Sears isn't honoring its written warranty on my refrigerator. Forget that I had to speak to someone in India (or Pakistan, I'm not sure where except not in the US) and wait 1-1/2 weeks to pay someone $89 just to tell me how much it was going to cost to replace the compressor on this Kenmore Elite refrigerator. It is such a bad compressor, one other repair company I called said they wouldn't even repair it because it was such a POS. So, after 1-1/2 weeks wait, and the 4 hour window for his arrival has passed, I again have to call someone in India who I could barely understand to send him a text for an ETA. About 45 minutes later, I get a call from a guy saying he was sorry, his day just slipped away, and he would call me when he could make it over. Over 2 hours after that, he calls from 20 minutes away and wants to come by at around 5:30 pm for the call. I told him don't bother, we have a dinner party to attend and to come by tomorrow. Well, he wouldn't commit to that, asked US to call and reschedule the appointment, which I refused to do and told him to do it. About 3 hours after that, I get an email confirmation for a new appointment 2 weeks away. What a joke. So, Sears thinks I should wait almost a month for someone to give me an estimate for the repair? So, now I'm going to sue Sears for the cost of the repairs and I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, even buy a screwdriver from the a-holes. Not that it will matter, with business practices like this, they will soon be out of business. Based on all of the positive reviews i saw, Sears obviously does not post negative reviews like this one. read more

I was lied to about the service Sears could provide. Our Kenmore dryer went out. After searching on-line I found what the cause was likely to be - a blown thermal fuse, so I removed the panel on the front of the dryer to access the suspect part. I removed the part, tested it, and it tested bad. On-line information said the blown fuse is likely to be due to a clogged dryer vent which would cause overheating in the dryer. I talked to the Sears service people and they promised they could send a repair man who could replace the part, check the rest of the dryer, AND clean the dryer vent. Since they claimed that the repair man could clean out the dryer vent (a LIE), I scheduled an appointment. I confirmed the day before the scheduled appointment that the repair man would provide the dryer vent cleaning service in addition to repairing the dryer. Today the repairman came out (a drive one-way of about 60 miles) and did the repair. HOWEVER, he told me that he was not able to do the vent clean out and I should find a chimney sweep to do it. The charge for the repair was $308 to replace a $10 part; which I would have done myself if they had told me the truth about not being able to do the dryer vent clean out. After spending about 3 hours on the phone through the maze of menus and bad voice connections, the sears customer solutions group first told me it was my fault, and then that they would give me a $50 coupon for future purchases on-line. UNACCEPTABLE. Don't use Sears service. Find a local repair and maintenance shop or do it all yourself! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Go to anyone besides this company. Had a service call for a washing machine 1 month ago, they identified the issue. I paid for it to be repaired. They were 1 week late past the SCHEDULED appointment. The replaced part did not fix issue. I called for it to be looked at again. They never showed. I made a refund request. Their response was to send another technician. Made the appointment again. They didn't show. I called the service number over 9 times and spoke to someone for an hour. The technician was then 3 hours late. When he got here he looked and said yeah it isn't working. Then refused to remove part because he said he didn't have a work order. I'm not sure how that's possible if you had a work order to come to appointment. After yelling at my husband and our slamming doors, he refused to provide management names or numbers. Gave us a $800 estimate and left. The sears helpline said they can write me an email. Worst. Company. Ever. read more

Technician did not unscrew the back of TV and assess what part(s) to order. He said he knew what was wrong. Part installed did not take care of problem. He discovered another part was needed. I was pressured to order the other part. Had to wait another two weeks for him to come back. This time it is working but probably for just past the 90 days guarantee. Spent $506.91 on old TV. Could have saved $97 plus tax on second trip to repair or replace, and the anguish experienced. Feel I was taken advantage of for poor service. read more

So I have been without a refrigerator at my home for over a month now. Sears sent someone out the day I called about the warranty work.The Tech spent hours trying to find it and lots of phone calls to others to ask and even came back at 8:00 to check to see if what he had done worked. Of course it did not and Parts were ordered. Mind you, the frig is less than 3 years old and I have had a compressor, fan motor and condenser sitting in my house since April 17. I had an appt on May 2 after they postponed my first appt. Now postponed the next 2 appointment. All the customer service people for Sears say is there is no tech in the area. Today is May 23 my oven went out May 8, called Sears to schedule repair found out I had to wait until May 19 to get a technician then I was called just before the time frame 8-12 expired that they only had one technician to repair my own told me they would have to reschedule . Now I had May 21 between 8-12 the technician showed up just about time was going to expire and asked me what was wrong with the oven.. You would think he knew what the service call was about and what was wrong... Finally discovering the problem went to his truck only to come back to say I have the part you need put it doesn't work I have to order you one then gave me another date.. I have had many accounts through the years with Sears, they have poor customer service and this technician appears to have no knowledge of what he is supposed to do was not professional and was very nervous.
