Requested a preventative maintenance check on central a/c system. Tech was on time and courteous. The night before we told him it seemed the system wasn't cooling. Turned out capacitor had gone out. We were told that since that wasn't the reason he was called, we would have to call Sears and schedule a second tech visit. I asked if he had part in truck. Sear's was called to repair my microwave and arrived on Jul 2. It needed 3parts that were ordered. 2Parts were ordered and sent not to my home but to Arp Texas. My home is in Tyler Tx. 2 parts arrived the first of the next week, but the third part was not order until I checked it on Jul16. I tried to call and was hung up on. The only information was through my insurance company. A repairman came Jul 30 and asked for the parts. I told him nor parts were there and the insurance would replace the microwave after then21 business day that day. I got an email saying the third part came in Aug 5, but it didn't come here. A repairman arrive today saying he was ready to repair the microwave but needed the parts. I had him call his boss and after again asking for the parts and I showed him the USPS receipts where the part went to Arp he finally left. Where do I even start with this company. Sears already took so much of my time and my issue was never resolved so I'm not gonna take too much more time to write this review. To summarize: - Horrible customer service - Technicians not knowledgeable about repairs - Technicians arrive late to appointments if at all - Technicians purely there to get you buy insurance - 1800 support will outright lie to you on the phone - 1800 support will put you on hold as long as possible - 1800 support will hang up on you while on hold - Managers seem to have no idea what's going on Worst part about all of this is that the Customer Support Team that you get when you call their 1800 support line seems to be in the dark about everything just as much as their customers. There's no accountability and no one knows who to call to get any answers for anything. Sears is truly a frustrating company that offers nothing but head aches. This is a scam. 5 confirmed appointments over 6 weeks, and they cancelled 2 at the last minute and were no-shows for 3. Their stupid scheduling system is set up so that if they cancel or no-show, you lose your place in the queue and have to go back to the end of the line and reschedule for a week later. I'd have used another service from the get-go but they're the only ones who could replace the (expensive) part under warranty. Bought a Whirlpool Cabio Platinum Laundry Washing and Dryer machine set from Sears locates at Rolling Oaks Mall. Sears is a SCAM! They scam you into purchasing the Sears Home Warranty Service plan with them and send Sears Technicians to fix your unit but they are incompetent in even fixing it. I purchased the Sears Home Warranty Plan on January 20, 2020 to have a Sears Technician fix my dryer as the dryer was heating but not drying my clothes as condensation was building up inside of the dryer drum and hot air was not blowing out of the back of the unit (i.e. blower motor & exhaust). As of today, February 20, 2020, I have had 3 Sears Technicians here at my residence to fix this dryer and yet again IT'S NOT FIXED! To make even matters more frustrating every time I contact the SEARS HOME WARRANTY via their telephone number, you either get someone with a heavy accent who cannot speak English clearly from either Mexico or India and you cannot even understand what the heck they're saying! This SEARS HOME WARRANTY is a GIMMICK & SCAM! Dealing with these Sears Home Warranty Technicians is just freaking ridiculous considering they cannot order the correct parts or fix the damn issue. A Horrible Experience! Without a doubt, this was the most unpleasant experience I've had with a service provider in many years. The nightmare began nearly 3 weeks ago when I requested repair service through my home warranty provider. The provider partnered with Sears Home Service and dispatched a repair technician. After diagnosing the problems with the washer, parts were ordered and we patiently waited over 10 days for them to arrive. Once they arrived, the real ordeal began. For the next 5 business days, I went through the daily ordeal of scheduling the technician service appointment...only to have them not show up the following day with no call to apologize or provide an explanation. Each time I called back to find out what happened, I was told "they must have run late from the prior appointment." Even when I requested an early appointment so we'd be the first service call of the day, they would switch it to later in the day without notifying me ... and it would result in another no show. Finally, after 4 no-shows and 5 re-schedule attempts I called today and told them to return the parts, cancel the service request and I would settle with the warranty provider to expedite the purchase of a new washer. Apparently, Sears believes my time has no value and doesn't care whether they fulfill a customer's service needs. I would strongly urge anyone seeking repair help with a major appliance to avoid Sears Home Service. There are plenty of other reputable, reliable and timely service providers in the area. This review is not for the store, it's for the A/C repair service... The tech was at my house for literally 5 minutes. The fuse was tripped, which is my fault for missing. I checked two places, but missed the one outside. I understand the $69 trip charge, but to tack on another $110 because he "consulted" me, which consisted of "Remember to check your breaker, and you may want to have that looked at by an electrician". This is a Sears system that was purchased three years ago, that was supposed to have a 5 year warranty. The rest of the time the tech spent trying to sell me a warranty. We therefore had to throw away all our food. Day 8: Repairman (from A&E) ordered the needed part (the compressor), which he replaced on Tuesday morning. I've had Sears home repair warranty for over 15 yrs for my central cooling/heating system. The last 3 yrs I have had issues with my AC and the issue never gets fixed. They try to turn it on me. I would clean the outside system, change the filter biweekly and add vinegar or bleach to clean the lines. But it would still leak water. This summer one tech said I only needed the new refrigerant. That took almost 3 weeks and a different tech came to check it and said the system has leaks inside and outside. Replacing the refrigerant was not going to work it will still ice inside and out. Guess the first tech was not will educated or trained.That the whole system may need to be replaced. 3 days later Sears calls to explain what they will be repaired and will get back to me with what I will pay. Been 2 weeks and no call back. So if you get a warranty with them good luck in getting your repairs done right or even getting them to talk to you. I had to go with some other company for a whole new system. After paying $59.00 monthly will cut them off immediately. So NO i do not recommen Sears for anything!!!! This was 1 of the worst experiences ever. Sears hired Innovel Solutions to deliver frig. Initial delivery window On a Monday night 7-9. No show ; no courtesy call/text ; Sears web site status indicated bad times. Wife called next morning and was told it will be delivered Wednesday morning. Couldn't convince them it should happen Tuesday. Wednesday window was AM but crew showed after 2 PM. Father/son showed up in rental truck. Took old out, but couldn't get new inside kitchen. Didn't have tools for our door nor did they have proper appliance dolly. Complained they wanted to use front entrance - same dimensions. Left new frig in garage and said supervisor would finish install - never happened. I had long conversation with Sears rep who assured me it would be done Friday - Thursday was the 4th of July. Friday morning no show - called both Sears (no answer) then Innovel. Shift sup says they will finish Saturday. About blew a gasket! I rented an appliance dolly and with my wife's help removed doors; moved frig; installed frig. Couldn't post zero stars but that's what these jokers deserve. read more

I would give less than one star if I could. I've used them 2 or 3 times over the last 10 years and they failed every time. They don't have repairmen, they have salesmen! They will tell you every time to buy a new appliance. The first time they couldn't fix my washer, I called someone else who found a sock had gotten outside the inner washer basket and once the sock was removed, the washer lasted another 7 years! Last time they changed out the hoses on my 2 year old washer which had just had new hoses put on and they didn't fix the problem at all. Not once have they fixed what I called them to fix. They don't know how or they are just taught to tell people that they need a new machine. They just collect their service fee and then I find someone else to do the job. It took a month for them to come and diagnose our Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. They replaced the compressor with the "old" type compressor that has failed so many Kenmores and LGs, and is currently in a lawsuit (check in out online). They charged $422 for labor, told us it would be half that if we bought an appliance warranty. We said no. The refrigerator never did get cool enough to put in food. We asked them to come back -- another month. They said they would charge another diagnosis fee ($97). We hired a local company and they replaced the refrigerant for $80 and told us that Sears either over-filled or under-filled the refrigerant. Sears Home Services is a NIGHTMARE. Beware.
