The two men that came to service my refrigerator were very professional. I appreciated that they were bilingual enough to help me understand in Spanish the problem with my fridge. They showed me that the problem might be the leveling of the floor, and that affects the fridge. They also installed the filter. Hopefully all that resolves the problem. A tech came out 2 weeks ago to service a broken air conditioner that was under Sears warranty. The tech ordered a compressor while standing in the living room and said it should be delivered within 1 or 2 days. AFTER14 DAYS of not hearing from ANYONE, and not being able to get a human being on the phone, we FINALLY found an obscure phone number and talked to "customer service." They said the parts are no longer being manufactured, and that we would have to wait 10 more business days to see if Sears would replace the air conditioning unit. This is in the home of an 82-year-old man and the temperatures in south Texas have exceeded 100° for WEEKS! SEARS DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES! Save your money! I have no doubt that this is why they are going out of business. Horrible, horrible treatment of customers, and failure to honor their commitments. read more

Our Craftsman riding mower all of sudden would not turn over to start. Called Sears and SPECIFICALLY told them NOT to send Thomas G. primarily because he's worthless and always tries to upcharge for EVERYTHING. The appointment setter said, "no problem, we'll send someone else." So, on the day of the appointment, who shows up? None other than Thomas, who I told them I DID NOT WANT!! So, he charges $150 trip charge to tell me that the ignition coil (actually magneto) was bad. Oh, but Sears won't let them carry any replacement parts on their truck any longer. Really?? So, then he proceeds to tell me that to fix the tractor he would have to order the coil (magneto), add on another trip charge and apply excessive labor cost, even though it would only take him 10 minutes to install the part. His quoted "new" total repair cost was now over $600. I refused the offer/quote and sent ol' Thomas packing. Ridiculous. Might as well apply that amount to a new tractor. So, then, I called another local mobile repair service. They acquired the magneto for less than half the price friggin' Thomas (at Sears) quoted, came out and installed it plus made sure everything was working perfectly and then changed the oil, spark plug and sharpened the blade on my push mower ... with their total cost for all they did being LESS THAN HALF what Sears was quoting (and we didn't even know if they could really do the work). Moral of the story is: Beware and do yourself a favor ... NEVER, NEVER use Sears Home Services!! Period ... end of story!! read more

I had a small leak coming from under the washer, which was the stacked type. It was under the dryer on top. No leaking if load was light or small. Called Sears Appliance, San Marcos. Almost $200 charge for coming out, but the money applied to bill if I chose to have them fix problem. Man came out, talked a lot, didn't really look at anything and told me it would be $800 or more to fix the problem. Price seemed awfully high so I didn't have them do anything further. Bottom line: Nothing done, still have problem plus I'm out almost $200. Horrible way to do business: Require large deposit then hold hostage with an exhobitant estimate. Will never use them again. Gave them 1 star but didn't have a choice for no star at all. read more

Please give careful thought to buying a Sears Master Plan Agreement. Our refrigerator took from August to December to get fixed & only got replaced because several others with same problem suggested Better Business Bureau. Today & did the annual maintenance I pay for. The Sears guys would take washer & dryer apart and clean them. Very nice guys from A&E but they ran the washer while they vacuumed the dryer. Seemed like a waste of time, I already do that. I mentioned that some would take apart to clean. & the guy said he doesn't repair washer & dryers so does not know how to put them back together. That must be why the person setting up appointment asked if it was working. After they left, I got a wipe and cleaned around the drum myself. Hereafter, I'll buy Costco appliances, they will pick it back up if it doesn't work. Transformco has ruined Sears when they took over. read more

nothing was fixed after several visits by multiple technicians, each one not knowing what the previous tech had done and multiple times told that parts were not available or on order, only to be waiting for several months and then SUDDENLY our service is not authorized and cancelled with out any notification. I emailed, called and tried to get a hold of a person to check status and had no response. finally i was given a direct line and this is when i find out the service has been deemed not authorized. I believe this is because, since they couldnt fix the washing machine, they were going to need to replace it . This is why I got the warranty in the first place..if cant be fixed then replacement.
