THIS PLACE IS SO FUN! My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at this establishment. The energy in this place and the music is amazing. You can tell the staff enjoys their jobs and even dance around and have fun to the music but still give great service! The bartender Manny is amazing and makes the best drinks. The manager Jim is fun and charismatic. If I had to nitpick.. the food could be better.... It really lacked seasoning.. but it was still good. My only question is why is there no guac on the menu???! it would go perfect with the pineapple drink and margs! read more

Also the funny thing is we ordered the drink called the fish bowl and we saw the lady at the bar opening the fish gummy with her mouth. Other than that the service was actually great. We were greeted at the door by a very nice and friendly hostess. I asked her if there was space upstairs so she directed me to the elevator and told me to ask the waitress upstairs to be seated- we did. The waitress accommodated our request for a table that wasn't cleaned yet. She came and cleaned it and took our drink order. We were ready to order but she took a while to come back. We finally ordered food and drinks and were given 2 napkins total. When our food came our fries were cold and limp. The pizza was ok and the fish was pretty good! But again... cold fries on the second plate. Our drinks ran dry and our napkins exhausted- we needed attention. It was NOWHERE to be found. But they helped everyone around us! ??? I asked a different server for a couple if boxes to take food home, he never even came back! Wtf? After an hour of trying to leave this place, I was so pissed. My girl got up and went to the bar to ask for boxes and our bill, so I wouldn't explode. They gave no f*cks. Too bad! I tend to tip more than my F&B bill, which in this case was about $86. I stopped in on a Saturday for some food and drinks. I was greeted by the hostess who told me that the bar is open seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We found seats at the bar right away in front of the tv so we could watch the soccer games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food looked very basic and mediocre so I opted for just French fries. The fries were served cold which was disappointing and when I asked for a side of ranch (asked about 4 times with 3 different people) they finally brought it....... But it was blue cheese. My margarita was water down. We ended up paying the bill and left to eat somewhere else. We got the margarita, pizza and the garlic bread. The margarita pizza only has three ingredients and they forgot one of the ingredients. It was very bland and not great. The garlic bread was even a little more surprising because it lacked really anything special. You get two little pieces of garlic bread and it's more like it has a slightly garlic flavor. Came for the Happy Hour since it's six dollar all beers. I got The Fishbowl since I'm not a beer kinda lady. The hostess showed us how to get to the rooftop, super sweet. The food was just okay, I got a lobster roll that wasn't even that flavorful and it was very small for the price and I mostly got a ton of fries. We returned to Seaside on the Pier for lunch. Traffic and parking was tough -- we arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation. The gentleman in front was so nice to dismiss the issue and did not hesitate to accommodate our request for rooftop seating. The rooftop was at capacity. We had to wait at the bar for a few minutes until a table cleared. Our server then seated us at a nice corner table along the edge. We asked to start with the Margherita Pizza, then the Meatball Sandwich and Fish Tacos for our mains. Everything came out at the same time and disappointingly lukewarm. Flavors were good overall but could have been better if our food was served hot/fresh. The Fish Tacos could really be great -- the pineapple pico de gallo and spicy aioli are delicious. The fries though continue to be a problem here -- just not cooked well enough. On a good note -- Service was very good today, much improved from our last visit. It's unfortunate that the food wasn't as good. The views are always great but I'm not sure if we'll be back. read more

I had the bbq bacon burger which was actually really good and my bf did the lobster burger. He had never seen lobster on a burger before so he had to get it, and he really liked it. I'd like to give some context with my 1 star review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sat on the rooftop with a few of my friends. They have a DJ, which makes a great vibe especially with the ocean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Our server was wonderful, she is super sweet and really made my party feel very welcomed. Now the 1 star: [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have no issues with dogs, I love dogs, but is there a reason seaside is allowing dogs not only to be unleashed and running around, but allowing a dog to sit on a chair while other people are dining. To me it is utterly disgusting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Our server had to go tell the other guests that the dog had to be leashed and not on a chair. It seems to me the other server could care less about other guests around And just allows a dog to do what they want. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've never seen that in a restaurant I've never seen a dog sit at a table in a chair. I am beyond stunned[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. our server once again was wonderful, she took care of us, and took care of the issue with the dog. I appreciate her taking the time to know there are other guests around that want to enjoy dinner and drinks while looking at the beautiful view. Came to this place off the pier as we waited for our table to be ready at Bubba Gumps. Didn't have a wait and was the only bar within view and walking distance. Was able to come in on a Sunday early afternoon (1pm ish) and was immediately sat at the bar. I'd say the bar was half full, and they had 6-7 waiters and bar tenders coming in and out of the bar. That being said, we didn't get any service or greeting until maybe 10-min after we sat. We had to ask for our own menus and flag down the wait staff and bar tenders for our orders. I get that they have an outdoor seating area that could have been packed, we couldn't see from the bar, but the inside of the restaurant looked not busy at all. I'd understand waiting because of needing to take care of the patio areas first, but at least give a greeting or drop some menus off and say "we'll get right to you" or something... The drinks we got were mid. We paid for pineapple special mixed drink and they said they were out of pineapples, but just happened to get pineapples come in after they made our drink, so the guests right next to us who came after got theirs in a pineapple. No worries at all, we preferred the glass, but at least give us a dollar or two off for not having the gimmick it came in. We were there for probably less than 40 min, 10-15 of it waiting to get helped and for our drinks (which the drinks did come out quickly after we ordered, so was a good thing. The waiting for service, not so much.) When the service ultimately came though, it was great! The guy who helped us was super friendly, very handsome and spent some time talking to us when he wasn't busy making drinks or preparing the pineapples (we never got) for other customers. I'd give this place another chance but honestly wasn't impressed my first go here. The server was the saving grace, and the location was nice. Would try to sit outside next time. read more

My husband and I came here to enjoy the pier and have a quick bite. We sat upstairs at the rooftop bar and were served quickly. I wish I could remember the bartender's name because they were great! The manager during the 4:30pm shift on 06/27 was so rude. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire rooftop wanted to watch the World Cup game (Portugal vs Columbia) and we couldn't hear over the DJ.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I overheard him talk to the DJ and say "they can watch it on their phone." The server never came to take our order, they were clearly under staffed and all the employees were flustered. Sat on the roof top and ordered the following: - 2 shots of tequila (patron silver) = $11 each, so $22 total - 1 gambino pinot grigio = $10 - 1 blood orange margarita = $14 - 1 french fries = $4.95 SUBTOTAL = $50.95 TAX = $5.23 TOTAL = $56.18 Wasn't there too long. The best experience here was the service of the bartender. He was very friendly and wasn't overly attentive. The diner vibe was ok but at the time, the place could've used a bit of cleaning. It wasn't packed or busy so, a little attention to appearance could've been had. I think there was only me and 1 other person at the bar and one family seated at a table. Had an amazing time here at Seaside on the Pier!! We came on Saturday around 12pm for lunch & I'm so happy to finally have tried this spot! It's a beautiful 3-floor restaurant right as you walk on the Santa Monica Pier serving the best seafood, burgers, & more!! We got the catch of the day, $22, & it was yummy! I believe we got a whole fried tilapia fish with sides of French fries and garlic bread! We deliciously devoured this and will be ordering it again! It was perfectly fried, and the fish was flaky & soft. Highly recommend getting this! We also tried the big bacon burger, $17, with a side of French fries! Honestly, this burger came out bigger than expected and I am happy!! This burger was slightly under seasoned but very juicy! To end our meal, we got the chocolate cake, $7.50, & it was delicious as expected! This spot is actually pretty generous with their portions considering it's on the Santa Monica Pier & at has very reasonable prices! It is a little on the bland side, but they do provide salt & pepper at your table. Despite other reviews, I honestly would recommend trying this place out! This place has really changed for the worse. I ordered the fish tacos and the tortillas were so soggy they were falling apart, couldn't even pick them up. My wife ordered the seafood pasta and didn't like it. Server said they would let management know and they would come talk to us, but management never came. Felt like a tourist trap. The food was extremely mediocre, and so were the margaritas. We got a regular margarita, a blood orange margarita, calamari, and coconut shrimp. The food seemed like it was frozen and then fried. Margaritas were Ok, nothing too special. I'm not usually particular about what glass my drink is served in, but a margarita in a regular drinking/water glass was a first for me. We literally got FOUR shrimp from the happy hour menu for coconut shrimp & it was plain small fried shrimp, not even coconut. Two tacos per order with 4 ounce portion cups of generic rice & black beans as sides. Salsa on tacos did not have pineapple as advertised. Today was my mother's birthday. We decided to go to Santa Monica Pier in the morning and then have breakfast. The morning air was cool and the ocean was reassuringly calm. There was a little bit of mist, a little bit of drizzle and a little bit of breeze. More importantly, we saw lots of dolphins(?) swimming together and birds flying in formations. Seaside on the Pier had just opened smiling cheerfully at passersby, so we asked if they could accommodate us with an item not on the menu! "Of course!" was the response. A young efficient and courteous server took us to the second floor and generously offered us the best seats on the balcony with spectacular views. As he wiped the morning dew off our chairs, he sang happy tunes( he did not sing- just kidding). The food consisting of pancakes, bacon and eggs was average, but delicious enough. We had to wait for a bit for our eggs, but I suppose it is because we did not ask for one of the menu items, so they had to go out of their way to make them. Inside was clean, our servers were really nice and the vibes were warm and friendly. The prices were more than reasonable! Will we return? We will definitely return for another brunch or lunch. read more

Yesterday we decided to spend some time and get some dinner before heading over to ride some rides when towards the end of our dinner who we believe was the manager and a server were arguing loudly. I wish they had put in better sweeter orange. The cut of the grapefruit was haphazard like a mush of extra piece. It was the last piece I did not care to touch as it looked like it was also uncared for in its cut and presentation. The slight sweetness to dressing was favorable. The sandwich I had no comment on but the fries was good and seasoned nicely. Overall it is a casually okay experience, nothing to hype much about. If you want star quality good, this is not it.
