I don't really like the idea of writing a review for a service I didn't end up using, but I had a pretty terrible customer service experience with this company. It had been a long time since my apartment had been cleaned. The bathroom needed a serious scrubbing and the carpet had a lot of dog hair (because my dog's hair murdered my vacuum). I filled out a form with Seattle Cleaning Service for a quote, and let them know that my place was not in great shape. It would take a lot of work. I let them know where the problem areas were, and I asked them if there was anything they didn't do as a service. I received this response: "yes there is plenty we won't do when you consider we get paid 42 to 45 hr to clean homes that are very clean to begin with. Sounds like the carpet needs ripped out. how gross is the bathroom...is the tub brown? ---------- Sent from my Verizon Wireless mobile phone" Now, I don't mind that they asked if my bathtub was brown (which it isn't) or that they think the carpet needs to be ripped out (which it doesn't). There are three things that really bother me with this email: 1) If you are sending an email to a potential customer, show some respect by capitalizing your sentences and sending it from a real email address, not a mobile phone. Especially if you plan on being borderline rude. 2) I feel like this shows considerable disrespect to their current customer base. It basically says they believe the work they do isn't hard. 3) They charge by the hour. Whether my apartment is clean or dirty has nothing to do with that. If it's dirtier you stay longer, and get paid more. It's hourly. They're a cleaning service that doesn't clean dirty houses and sends terse emails that are borderline rude that show little respect to potential business. I ended up going with another cleaning service that did a fantastic job in little time, and didn't once complain that my apartment was dirtier than the houses they usually clean. Also, they didn't rip out my carpet, and they emailed me professionally AND called me. I may delete this review in the future since I'm not wild about being the "first to review," but for now I think they deserve it. Whoa. Called them about cleaning an already pretty clean and empty townhouse before moving in and the woman said it would take her about 8 hours. I've never had cleaners take any longer than 3 max! I asked her what she could do in 2 hours and she laughed at me, told me she could probably get a bathroom done and told me to call someone else. Apparently they arent looking for new business. We have hired Seattle Cleaning Service to do bi-weekly cleaning of our office and are very happy with the quality of service they provide. The owner, Liz Latham, reviewed our needs, gave us an estimate, and then personally trained the young man who cleans twice a month. He is always here on the designated cleaning day and does a thorough job. (We had problems with our past service so his reliability is much appreciated.) Early on, we realized there were a couple of other things he could do while he was here since we were paying for a two-hour minimum. We made the request and these changes were incorporated the next time he came to our office. Liz has personally followed up with us to be sure that we are satisfied with the work. The following in a nutshell: Liz did a deep cleaning for my apartment. I asked to schedule monthly cleanings, and she didn't respond until a whole month later. Liz then tried to increase the total price for each cleaning long after the original quote was made, dropped me as a customer without a second thought when I complained. My family called for her service for me as a Christmas present, and Liz gave them an initial quote for 1 deep cleaning (4 hours) followed by monthly 2-hour cleanings for the rest of the year. They did an ok job with the deep cleaning (which was paid for) but missed several things I was willing to overlook. I told her I was interested going further with the monthly cleanings for the year and she said we would get back to me with scheduling and giving an invoice. A month passes. I email her again, and she provides the following email: Yes we can but i would like to make it at least three hrs instrad of two eaxh Visit. Let me Look at the calendar and aee what we can do. I have been sick the last week and am just now feeling better. Enjoy the weekend. Liz Sent from my iPhone How well-written and professional. Notice that the time to clean has now increased from 2 to 3 hours. This means that the total price is 50% (in our case, $360) more than the original quote. I found Liz Latham and her staff to be incredibly kind, generous with their time and skill, and meticulous in the cleaning of our home. I found Liz and Seattle Cleaning Service quite by accident but it's really the best kind of happy accident ever. My husband and I were selling our home (3000 sq ft on 3 levels) and the cleaning service that I had scheduled, of which we were already regular customers, cancelled the move-out deep clean at the last minute. In a panic I went online and did a quick search and Seattle Cleaning Service came up. I called the number, left a message, got a call back within just a few minutes and explained my situation. Liz had a crew at my house in 90 minutes and it seriously has never been cleaner! The windows were sparkling, the cabinets and appliances were pristine inside and out, and they were down on their hands and knees making sure you could eat dinner off the floor and baseboards. Over the course of 2 days they had that house in the best shape it had ever been in. It went on the market the next Monday and we had an offer that night. When I am paying for something I tend to set the bar very high. Liz and her team met and exceeded all of my expectations. They are now my regular cleaning company. I don't understand the negative reviews. Liz is a straight-shooter and pulls no punches. If you need to have something sugar coated then perhaps another company is a better choice. For me, Liz and her team are the best. For those commenting on how many hours it takes please consider that each person working on her team counts toward labor hours. For example: 2 people working 2 hours each equals 4 labor hours. Seattle Cleaning Service puts all other area cleaning services to shame. read more

Don't use this service. Lili the owner has been cleaning my house for 2 months now. Not once has the job been completed. Always forgets something. She leaves all your lights on and doesn't follow through with the job. Of course it would be hard to do the job when you are only cleaning for an hour and then gone. That works out to be about $70 dollars an hour. what cleaner makes this kinda money. Right, NONE. Today I contacted lili to see where she was. Her TEXT reply was I decided not clean your house cause you are never satisfied. How Professional, of course it the customer and not her work. HARDLY! My response was do the full job and I would be satisfied. Even with 3 cleaners last week they forget the entire guest room. How does that even happen.. Worthless company that just comes over and surface cleans for a little bit and then takes your hard earned money. Don't hire this lady. read more

We hired Seattle Cleaning Service (Liz and Brandon) to clean some areas of our house that I could not get as clean as I like before listing it for sale. Liz was responsive by both email and phone and offered to come by and give me a free estimate so that we would be sure to book the correct number of hours. She is easy to work with and was very flexible to find someone who could work with my tight schedule. Brandon did the work and the place looks amazing! He was on-time, professional and incredibly efficient. The wood floors, which had construction dust caked on them, are shining, as are every surface they were hired to clean. The most pleasant surprise is that the house doesn't smell like bleach or cleaning solutions. I don't know what he used, but it actually smells good. BONUS! We've had our realtor and a stager in and they both commented on how great the house looks. I'm not surprised that the only non-flattering reviews are from people who didn't ever hire this company because they are excellent and priced comparably with other companies who don't do as good of a job. I wish I'd found them earlier. I'll hire Liz & Brandon again for sure in our new home, if they travel to this area of town. read more

What the what? Liz cleaned for me for YEARS, and I have no clue what the negatives are even talking about. One of them doesn't even have her name right, so I think the reviews are suspect.
