First time at this location. It's clean, they have two red light tables, much larger than Kent east hill location. Seems much safer too. Taylor helped us the first time, and she was over the top helpful, great customer service. Hard to come by in this society. We live near the Kent east hill location location but unfortunately they open late and close early. So we started driving down the hill just to use the sauna pods. We will for sure still visit the one near us, because it's so convenient. The nice thing is there's two locations near us. read more

I hope someone can follow up with this . Just a simple incident with Setting up a customer without the spray tan machine running properly . I was able to use the solution and rub it in my skin . I took the sunless solution from the floor of this machine . I hope someone understands how important it is to keep customers. I wouldn't go here if I didn't need to for my line of work . Worst tanning salon I've ever been to. I used to come here when it was Desert Sun between 2005- 2008. It was a much better experience, I really enjoyed coming there and the friendly girls at the front who were super knowledgeable and helpful. sad to see everything has changed. . I ended up moving out of state for a few months and came back to kent to find it changed to Seattle sun. I thought I would give it a try thinking it was just a name change but boy was I wrong!! YIKES! * Sigh*what a disappointment that was. The girls at the desk were incredibly rude, not very knowledgeable and the atmosphere is not even close to as comfortable and relaxed as it was when it was DS. The packages are confusing and expensive and the lotions are overpriced. I'm used to spending around $75.00 on lotion but it's crazy when even the budget lotions like australian gold are overpriced. I went to spray tan and the machine didn't work properly. I looked like the female version of ross from friends when he got that spray tan. I had an uneven spray tan which took forever to peel off. I used to love DS mystic spray tan booth. I'd go at least 3-4x a month for work. I never had an issue. I was told to call corporate which is difficult to even get a hold of, they were just as disappointing and rude as well. A waste of time. Their replys on Google are professional but that's not what u will get when u talk to them. Thankfully I moved and can go to a much better welcoming salon where I feel welcome and they want u to return and will try whatever they can to make ur experience a good one. I'd much rather support my towns small businesses instead of a franchise whose only interest is ur money not u as a customer. I give it one star because of one single employee (the others are just amazing) and their corporate office. About 5 minutes after I left the tanning salon today I got a call from the corporate office of seattle sun tan informing me they received an email from the Kent location reporting "I was playing inappropriate music at an inappropriate volume and this cannot happen again". The thing is, I didn't touch the volume or the channel dial- I told her I was listening to the radio THEY PROVIDE (which I really don't know how to use- I just hit that one button) and all I did was hit the am/fm button to play music to the station someone else selected (it was 106.1). She was just rude about it, making this all my fault and problem, she also made a point to let me know they would be making a note in my file. During the call, I recommended they switch to musack (it's store radio) to weed out the inappropriate music thus they control what is played. I also told her I don't even know how to use the radio I just figured out how to turn it on and off, so I recommended they include instructions in all rooms might be helpful. What a disappointment. All the other employees I've encountered are wonderful. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. Keep hidden fees and make you sign a contract that they don't even show you, then use it against you. Don't explain anything about how to operate the tan bed and only care about stealing money. Stay away from this place. read more

Like $50 a month for a sun less spray package. You would think for a price like that the Versa would be working... well not so much. There Versa sunless tanning bed is always broken to some capacity. Frustrating when they in exchange offer you nothing but to drive across town to another Seattle Sun! On top of that they really just want to sell sell sell and will "cloud" the contract to lock you in. When you "freeze" your account your charged $5/ month and you use it or loose it within 3 months towards ONLY product. Okay why do that? Terrible deal and never explained. So Obviously at this point I am upset and the Manager decides to be sarcastic with me to the point where I acknowledged it and she said you're welcome. Really?! okay. Very disappointed. I have been a paying customer for a long time, frequent the Kent location often. First day open since the closure, and I couldn't wait to get my tan on! I was also delighted that there was almost no one there! Awesome, in and out! The young woman tending shop today; however... had no intention of allowing my glee to continue. After a 5-minute search for my name in their system, which I politely spelled aloud multiple times, it seemed we were on our way... until the bed would not start. Naked in the moment, I got dressed and went to the lobby, and asked if the bed had been reset. Her response was to stare at the computer, leaning on her elbows the entire time, pecking away for several minutes, only to say my booth doesn't work. Heavy sigh... Embrace the pale. So, much ado about nothing? Yeah, maybe... but when the disappointment is delivered apathetically, with no eye contact, and devoid of manners, it should be mentioned. Seattle Sun Tan should remind their employees to focus on their customers. There are plenty of tanning salons out there to choose from. read more

I prefer going to the Renton location. The workers are always nice here, and it's clean. But there are barely any beds above a 3. They only have one 5 bed and it's a combo or else you have to do the 22 minute flip. They only have one 4 bed also. Every time I come here, I either have to wait for what I want or get pushed into doing a bed that I didn't plan on doing. It's kind of lame since I'm paying $40 a month plus whatever $ amount for the bed I'm using. Please please install some more higher level beds. I live in Tukwila and I have to either go to this location or to the Renton location which are drives from my house considering they should have one at the mall. Also the parking around the afternoon sucks. You have to fight people for the closer parking spots or walk a decent ways away and then when you get into the salon, the people who stole your parking spot, also steal the only 4 or 5 bed you wanted. read more

She gave excellent recommendations on lotions and made sure I was comfortable during the entire process. This place was clean and amazing beds. Love this location and the ladies that work here. They know me by name when I walk in and I'm always greeted with a big smile. There is a great selection of lotions and products and they always have great deals and sales on them and the tanning packages are very reasonably priced. The place is always clean and I've never had an issue with the beds being ready and I've been a member since they opened. Had to giggle a little at the review below. Like Girl... seriously? You come here often for your "line of work" and you stated and showed pictures that the knobs weren't on and there were clearly pictures showing the machine was just cleaned and not ready for use yet and still you attempted to use it instead of just mentioning it to a staff member? Girly, you didn't have to take the solution from the floor of the machine like you stated-you could have just told the employee and they would have fixed it for you in like 30 seconds. I really like this location of Seattle Sun Tan. The employees have been really friendly, professional and are honest about wait times for specific booths. The booths have been very clean and in good working order (no broken bulbs). For anyone debating Seattle Sun Tan vs. Desert Sun, here's my experience. Desert Sun will sell you specific tans (like 12 level 4's and 20 level 3's for $100 for example). Those tans have an expiration date, so you have to use them or lose them. Additionally, they are not flexible about exchanging tans. So you might go tan one day and all the level 3's are in use, but you don't have any level 4's available to use, so you either have to buy more or wait. Seattle Sun Tan has been cheaper (even with the membership) and instead of pre-paying for specific tans, you basically just have a bank of tanning $$ that you can apply to any tan including spray tans. There is a $25 membership, but it's easily can celled or held with no penalties. read more

To be fair...this should be like a 3.5, but that's not an option. Anywho, I'm a frequent tanner of special occasions and vacations. I usually have a membership frozen and unfreeze when I'm going somewhere and need a little bronze, however last time I stupidly cancelled it. Staff is really nice, beds could be cleaned better, but it's a nice atmosphere. Here's my point: WHY on earth do they lie & tell you level 1 & 2 beds don't get you tan...they only maintain. Because that's a lie! They actually all get you tan & they all maintain. Once your skin reaches a certain point there's not much further you can go, genetically. The sales girl was friendly enough, answered our questions and seemed pretty knowledgeable. It was actually kinda fun and it was quick and thorough. Great place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. After having a few bad mix-ups and poor service, they quickly resolved every problem and have been amazing ever since. Versa still makes me pretty spotty on the forearms, but I just use Sally Hanson's tanning spray to blend it in. I've purchased the Versa products and used the blending cream as instructed, which help with everything else except this issue. read more

I have been tanning for a long time--it's kind of my thing. I have been coming to this location for almost 4 years now. Yeah, you may see different people, and turnover can get frustrating, but I genuinely feel that the training procedure and quality of new hires in the last year-ish has risen. I have seen a lot of girls come and go, most of which are helpful and sweet. They all try their hardest to remember you and make connections that will last. Obviously this is a sales job... What tanning establishment isn't? At least when I come here I know the employees are knowledgeable and have my best interest in mind. They can fine tune your tanning regimen to fit exactly what you need... Long-term color, sun protection for vacations, help with acne/psoriasis/eczema/etc. They also have many other services that may fit your personal needs such as red light therapy, infrared heat wraps, sunless tanning, technician applied airbrushing, and quality skin-care products. I have always purchased my skin care products here, as I know they are the best in the business. I have also had an airbrush done and it turned out perfectly. It's super clean, I'm always greeted with friendly smiles, and I feel that they are at the forefront of the tanning industry. read more

Be aware of this place. I signed up for a TRIAL at this location and they charged me a monthly subscription even after I mentioned multiple times I did not want a monthly subscription. I was charged $70 bucks for 2 months (even though they had it on record I did not go for 2 months) and the only reason why I caught them charging me monthly was when I noticed it while reviewing my credit card statements. I called the corporate office, since the local office wouldn't do a refund and the corporate office said the only thing they could do was give me store credit. It was a TRIAL! I'm not going to this place even if I have store credit there. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this place and save yourself money and frustration. read more

Let me start off by saying I am one of those people that might tan too much. Not orangey, but everyone knows I go tanning. I've gone to probably over 2 dozen tanning salons, and a handful of them being seattle suntan. Let's be real here folks. All tanning joints are the same - late teen/early 20s girls that upsell relentlessly and that's about it. So I toss back and forth between a couple of locations for seattle suntan and this location if by far the worst. I wrote this review about a month ago and sent it to corporate. I patiently waited for their reply; any response... NOTHING. So here's my ZERO STAR review. and you know while i'm at it, both middle fingers to the owners of this establishment, since I do realize that these salons are independently owned (but still under a corporate veil). "I'm actually sitting outside right now (waiting for someone) writing this review because today was exceptionally shitty because of the employee. I came a quarter after 9 and it wasn't very busy. There was one gal @ the counter so I sat down and waited. I've noticed at this location people tend to stand until they are helped. But since there was just one girl at the counter, I didn't think i'd get shafted. Well right as the male employee (first time I've ever seen him) finished helping girl 1, another girl walks thru the door and goes straight to the counter. Instead of the employee saying excusing girl 2 and helping me.. yea you get the jist. So he asks me for my name and he proceeds to "explain" their procedures to me. I patiently listened as he called me by my last name repeatedly. After he was finished lecturing me on the seattle suntan policies on membership and how I had incorrectly been signed up for my pkg, a mistake I didn't make (your company offered it to me and I purchased it), I said my name is angie. He said no its not its kim. Uhhhh I think I know my first & last name. Hah. Idiot. So I carry on. I tan. I jump out and within 1 minute the door knob jingles. I get startled because I'm applying after tan. No knock, no 'im sorry'. so I think to myself, maybe someone ran into the door or some else shut their door and made mine rattle. I start getting dressed and a minute later, door knob jingles again! I said "hello?". No response. So I'm pissed. How fucking rude dude! What if I hadn't locked the door?! So I came out and said, "did u need something?". He goes, "no? What took you so long?". Wow really. Its only 940. You have 20mins for your minimum wage stankass to wipe my ass sweat, calm the fuck down super douche. I will def not be going to this location again until someone in mgmt informs me that this idiot is no longer with their company." read more

1 star for their equipment, and 1 star for the fact that they clean the beds. That's all there is to this place. If you're a beginning tanner and need advice, good luck getting tips on how to use all of the beds. Doesn't matter if you're on a budget. They try to get you to go in the most expensive one (level 5). They will only give you advice on how to use their most expensive bed, and nothing else. They will tell you that the lower-level beds are used for maintenance. Pssht. You can use the level 1's and level 2's if you're just starting out! Every time you go in there, they will try to sell you something. If you tell them you want to use a lower-level bed, doesn't matter if you've been there ten times and have told them (at least ten times) that you want to use a conventional bed, they will at least try to sell you a monthly membership and convince you that their level-5 tans aren't that expensive. They are. For a level 5, it's $7 per session if you're a member (30/month with tax). If you're not a member, then it's 14 per session. So do the math. You become a member and go in the level-5 bed 10 times per month. With a membership, that's 100/month to tan! Whatever you do, please please please don't buy their lotions. (Most) of the staff already suck at customer service, so why would you buy a product from them with a markup of over 100%? For example, Swedish Beauty "Take Olive Me" lotion is $50 there. Go on ebay and you can get it for $18. If you go there on a Tuesday, there's probably a girl there playing her rap music loud enough for the customers to hear it. I'm not a prude, but I know that if I'm running a business, I keep the atmosphere neutral because I'm aware that there are many preferences for music. Not only that, but staff frequently eat their lunch behind the counter at the front desk. Unprofessional. I'm sure this is the manager's fault, but there's normally only ONE person per shift. This has happened multiple times where I walk in and no one's behind the counter. Not the one employee's fault that has to clean the beds while checking in customers and explaining tanning packages. This is all on the manager. Lastly, a huge disadvantage of this place is the parking situation. Kent Station shopping center has gotten much busier over the past few years. A lot of the time, you'll find yourself having to park far away from this place. That would be acceptable if the staff were professional and that the manager didn't keep the tanning salon understaffed at all times. My main point: Only use this place if you have a deal, like a Groupon discount or if you like their equipment and are willing to shell out lots of money each month to tan. Otherwise, go to another place. It is not worth even spending 30 dollars each month just to use the level 1 and 2 beds because you'll get a sales pitch every time you walk in the door. Seattle Sun Tan really needs to get Tabatha to take over. read more

When I signed up a "plan" was nicely written out for me. I didn't understand that the "plan" would greatly exceed the money I paid. This SST location is by far the best experience that I've had in a very long time. Kalia was so helpful and helped me determine exactly what I wanted because I only like spray tanning. She took the time to get to know me personally. I felt like it was an entire experience instead of just visiting a regular tanning salon. Wanted to get a month's worth of fake sun before heading to Maui for vacation. Saw a $9.95 coupon online but was prepared to spend $100 for 30 days. Just want to use a tanning bed for 5-10 minutes a day and be done. Person at the counter told me "We do it kind of funky here." and proceeded to educate me on the packages of buying visits; not time. The girls there are awesome Danyelle and Lexi in particular always have positive attitudes when i see them and never pressure me to buy when i don't need to. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews for this location. I had the most wonderful experience earlier today. I'm leaving for Hawaii in a week and don't want to burn, so I went to go get a 'base tan'. Chandler was amazing and knowledgeable! I've been here a number of times & I only tan due to an upcoming special occasion. Call me cheap but I look for any deals & coupons that can help me save $. It's no miss, but every time i go here, its different staff each & every time! I don't really think that's a good thing.. but anyway, i have an audition tmrw so I went in to redeem a $20 voucher i got for doing a survey. The lady said for the highest bed, it would be $28. I only need 1 tan since i tan easily so I said "great! I'll only end up payin about an $8 difference." She said "well you can get 3 for $39, do you wanna do that?" I figured, wow thats a good deal-just for $11ish more, i get 3 high level tans. She charged my card and right before I went to tan, I confirmed, "Ok, so I paid a difference of $12 for 3 tans right?" And she goes, "NO, you paid $39." Im like "are you serious?" and she said "well thats what I was telling you, $39 for 3 tans." I said "YES, but then where is my $20 off?" She goes "Ohhh no, Its regularly $59 for 3 tans so I did take off $20 making it $39." I was just sooo disappointed at that time that I just went and got my tan. Afterwards, I talked to her and she said "Sorry, no refunds or exchanges but I'll email corporate & they'll get back to you in the morning. I said thank you & left. I'm into the evening now & still no response for corporate. It's already frustrating enough that their prices for "fake sun" is so expensive when I can wait for a sunny day & get a tan that lasts longer, so yes I'm more infuriated that she charged me triple of what I was planning to pay. My mistake i guessss is just not triple confirming on what I was being charged. I may just have to dispute this transaction because I doubt I'll be getting a response. If I do, I may not even get a partial refund. BUYERS: just be cautious. Their employees are LAZY & forget to explain thoroughly. Too much fake & bake I say. I recently signed up for a membership under the impression (the impression coming from the employees which come to find out we're giving me false information) that I would be able to cancel my membership at any given point, regardless of how long I had my membership. I was told this numerous times while agreeing to a membership and ended up spending a lot of money on a membership that I am now stuck paying another $24.95 for, only for me to not use it. To top it all off, when I tried to call to explore my options such as freezing my account, the employees were just as rude as they are when you go in to actually go tanning.
