i have been going for a few weeks now, primarily for the red light therapy beds. the staff is always very nice and the price for the all inclusive membership is affordable. the actual rooms are very clean. i look forward to going to the red light beds daily and i have seen a noticeable difference in my skin already. they also offer an array of other services like spray tanning, teeth whitening, UV beds and more. the products are a little pricey and you can find them cheaper online, even with the "discount" that you are given with a membership. overall, i will continue to get my services here. read more

MARY IS THE BEST !! I just walked in and was really skeptical since many places don't really care about you or they just want to sell there memberships and that's it. The facility: super clean and insanely welcoming. Mary gave me a tour and showed me the "red light", cocoon, gold beds, diamonds and so on. Then she showed me the different beds, what makes them different and why . Also they have a teeth whitening area and a spray tanning section as well !! It was really perfect ! Mary: she gave it to me straight I'm from Long Island and I hate scammy reasoning and "why I must join" jargon, Mary helped me find a package to try. Which I'm doing the 1 week for the price of one session. Which I then brought 2 small packets of lotion that she picked out because in my opinion they know what works and what doesn't. I loved that she told all the pricing and packages and what came in them. I told her that I'll be using them religiously! The tanning beds were top Notch , I'm used to older beds that I'm just dying in from zero fans . These were amazing ventilated and I kept cool the whole time while getting a bomb tan ! I have been going to this salon since Covid hit and it has definitely gone downhill within the last year. Most of the beds I routinely use have issues with them. The stand up has 10 bulbs out, both diamond beds have issues (8 supposedly has new bulbs but the bed doesn't even get hot... doesn't seem to give a tan at all) (bed 9 the lights won't turn on at all), bed 16 usually the timer and fans won't work but I lucked out tonight. Every time I have used the spray tan it has resulted in a terrible uneven tan. I don't know what it is, but the owners need to do some updates to keep their customers. Poor Destiny had to take the brunt from so many customers today for beds not working properly and she is the absolute sweetest girl! They really don't deserve her as an employee. She's the absolute best and deserves be be treated with respect. I hope the owners can get these beds fixed and some responsible workers to show up to their shifts like they are scheduled so I also stop wasting gas on the weekends to ultimately see they are still closed. I can't say enough good things about this place. First off, I was researching the benefits of red light therapy and it almost seemed too good to be true. I called and spoke to Mary, who actually told me the same benefits that I just read about. This isn't a bad thing, for she basically backed up said research. I also asked her about tanning options, and she told me absolutely everything I needed to know. I immediately purchased my Groupon, as well as a gift Groupon for my brother. It was only $10 each! When we went in, we were ALSO given the option of one week free tanning in the silver bed or $10 off a single tan (it could have been $10 off of anything but I don't quite remember). They even have a Tuesday special that everyone should totally check out. Two days later, I spoke with Jessica on the phone who was also working when we came in. This was when Jessica told us (more than I thought possible, sweet!) about their lotions-- plus she also shared the same information for us that Mary did, which I really liked. Jessica was very accommodating and so friendly (we both fell in love with her right away!). So much so that my brother immediately signed up for a membership and even got 50% off a tanning lotion! I obviously would have too if I had my debit card with me, but I definitely plan to once it comes in. I observed her interactions with other customers as well, and she didn't fail to disappoint. I asked her how I could let her manager/boss know what I thought of her and she recommended leaving a Yelp review. I have moved around the country and no where has compared to the amazing tanning booths/service/products featured at Pink Coconut. I get the primo services out here in DC (my current location) but I truly miss with all of my heart of hearts this tanning salon/branch. BED SELECTION: They offer a wide variety of tanning beds to chose from. For me, I prefer the high intensity beds vs the (in my opinion) cheap o 20 minutes. Take in the variety of the high intensity beds and you have yourself a deep dark luscious tan, something that I have not yet been able to duplicate either in Chicago or DC. Pink Coconut nails it on the head. Because you can go to any branch salon, you can alternate. What some salons don't have, another might have. I would recommend trying the "magic" bed (it talks to you!) about 2-3 times a month to truly deepen your tan. PRICE: Okay, it's cheap. I mean seriously, you can pay $20 a month for some crappy bed featured in the back of some nail salon but you're chewing away money for your time. You have to go twice as often and lay in the beds for twice as long. Not worth it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great. Knowledgeable. Not pushy. You really don't need $150 lotion, FYI so just stick with a medium priced lotion. Don't forget nail covers to avoid your nails turning yellow. Overall, compared to any salon in the area (I've tried them all from Aqua tanning to Desert Sun [which is a horrific value btw]) this chain is the place to go. It's LA Tan now, not pink coconut- but the beds are the same as before, and the staff are still a good balance between informed about the products enough to help you, but not pushing for you to spend money you don't want to spend. Their monthly prices are ridiculously good if you have time to go frequently, especially considering the array of different levels of beds they have. My experience was to go in and tell them, for my vacation in X number of weeks, I don't want to be Washington white, but I don't want to look like I've been tanning- they gave great advice and the color I got was perfect. So this place is actually tan republic now. The lady who helped me was very thorough and knowledgable about what I was interested in... A spray tan. This was my first time getting a spray tan but I definitely should've just stuck with the tanning beds. The employee told me about a clear spray tan that kinda sets to your skin tone so I went ahead with it. I wanted to avoid an orange tone. I was doing it for my wedding which was the day I came in. She told me it would take a few hours to kick in to the medium dark tan that I wanted. I LOOKED GREAT for my wedding... It's the next day now and I look carrot orange though :/ I would give five stars if I didn't turn orange but it gets the four stars because of the nice employee who helped me and I looked good for my wedding. read more

I recently started tanning here (it's LA tan now) and have had a good experience until the last two weeks...1- it's not being cleaned the same in room number 3 there has been a bandaid behind the bed for a week!!! It's disgusting if they r not cleaning the floors in over a week r the beds I lay in cleaned?!? 2- the recent new hires are very unprofessional, tonight as I stood in line to be helped the girl working was busy flirting with who I assume is her boyfriend instead of helping the lady in front of her , infact the girl behind me LEFT because of it.. There is a time and a place to have a spray bottle flirting session... At work with clients present is not the place... One star is for being the closest tanning salon and the decent rooms/beds. The other is for reasonable rates and friendly staff. I cannot come to give them any more stars because of how inconsistent their hours are. More often than not they end up closing early or being closed for the day without warning. Not sure why this occurs, but it's upsetting. I've learned now to call ahead just to make sure they are open before I head over there because it's not a short jaunt. I feel like I got a really good deal! I have tanned at other places in the past and Tan Republic is my favorite. My favorite tanning salon ever! I absolutely love the staff, especially Mary and Kayla! They're all super knowledgeable and have amazing customer service. I am a VIT member, which includes unlimited red light, bed tanning, spray tanning, and cocoon. I love the cocoon, it's so intense that I'm exhausted afterwards. It's an amazing experience though and makes me feel like I'm on some next level spa treatment. The red light therapy is wonderful! I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin tone and it's lightened up a lot of scarring. I have only spray tanned a few times but I like doing it before events for an extra bronze. As for bed tanning, these beds are so great. I use the diamond beds, which are roomy and bright and I feel glowing every time I finish. So glad I found Tan Republic! read more
