Super nice baristas, not the snarky snarkiness of other spots, and their chocolate croissants are the best in heaven, especially warmed in an oven as they do (and not a mircrowave, which would make them mushy and flatten their flavor). I always get latte here, and it is good. The coffee is strong, but it is not acidic and not too overpowering since I can still taste the milk. And also I like this place to study, the music choices that they play are good, so relaxing. There are many tables in both floors and most of the tables that are next to a wall will have an outlet (which is important for me). read more

So you get many different forms of "sunshine" at this cafe - sunshine in the form of great customer service, great coffee, great pastries. and great ambiance. I've been to this coffee shop a few times, and every single time, I'm greeted with enthusiasm and never feel rushed in my order. Each barista I've encountered has been nothing but sweet and friendly, starts conversations with me, and makes sure to give me a great experience overall. I've tried a few different pastries here, including breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and each time I've been impressed! They have delicious chocolate chip cookies and the baristas are always nice enough to offer to warm them up for you! Overall, this coffee shop has a lot of great natural lighting and two areas where you can settle down for some work or reading, and plenty of outlets are available! New to the neighborhood, Sunshine fits in well - Feels a bit uptight, it's not too busy, but overall character is polished and friendly. There is a ton of seating. Upstairs and downstairs areas. Air conditioning is a nice plus on these few brutally hot Seattle days. They have a pretty extensive menu of premade sandwich offerings. Good made-to-order light meal selections as well. They are truly a cafe, not just a coffee place with pastries. Coffee drinks are on par with most Seattle cafes. $2 for an 8oz drip from a carafe seems a little steep however, given the quality (very light body, significant grounds in the brew and on the cool side). Staff are very nice. Without the attitude Ventroux has right around the corner. I've never seen it too busy so I hope they can survive. Best of luck with your enterprise. read more

Lovely cafe in Bryant that I find myself studying at frequently. Coffee is fantastic, and there is a moderate selection of pastries (yum Macrina), including some gluten-free options (Nu-flours!). There is also ice cream! I like Seattle Sunshine most for its space though, which is quite large and features many tables, tasteful music, and a great ambience. It can occasionally get busy here especially on the weekends, but I particularly enjoy the upstairs! read more

This is an ideal little cafe. I've dropped by here a few times to meet with friends, have small meetings, and get some work done. Plenty of space to sit, and lots of outlets for your electronics. Their selection of caffeinated drinks is exactly what you'd hope for at a cafe, with a few nice cold drink options, too. Also, their sandwiches are excellent, a real bonus when in need of tasty pick me. Interestingly, this place has a martial arts facility downstairs. I've been to check it out, it looks like a great place to work out. I believe they have Brazilian Ju-jitsu amongst other martial arts. It's an interesting idea, which actual works. If I lived closer, I'd consider joining up. I spoke with staff in both the cafe and gym, they are very polite and endearing. These are the sort of people you want to be running a business in your town. If you are in the Bryant neighborhood and want to get some studying or work done, this is your place. Beautiful space with lots of window seating, natural light and large tables. It doesn't ever seem to get overly crowded. Although you have a slight hum from people talking and moving around it is certainly what I would call quiet. In addition to large tables is comfortable couch style seatng for times where you are just meeting someone for a conversation. The coffee is good to, but I think the space is the main draw here. read more

Cute neighborhood spot for solid espresso + getting some work done. Ample tables and seating, high ceilings, and lots of natural light make for a great study spot. Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Their earl grey was okay and the harvest squash bread was underwhelming. The staff was really nice! The atmosphere was clean and not too noisy which I think makes a great environment for studying. The tea was 3$ no matter what size which is kind of pricy for an average cup of tea. I love this place! The people here are always friendly, the coffee and cappuccino drinks are great (they serve Lighthouse Roasters), and there's always something for me from the food or pastry offerings. One of my new favorite cafes for studying near UVillage! I usually go to Zoka's nearby because it's spacious, but recently it's been crowded with people and their coffee is overpriced coffee. I love the modern decor here at Seattle Sunshine and there are tons of tables, outlets, and even couches! Also the coffee is absolutely delicious! Yum!!!! I got a beautiful little vanilla latte here and was pretty impressed by the barista's foamed art on it. The latte itself was perfectly sweetened. I hate it when I have to wonder whether the barista forgot to add vanilla. The space was so clean, modern, and cozy at the same time. Perfect place to do some reading and have a pastry while you're at it. My favorite thing was that their pastry case featured goods from multiple local bakeries instead of just one. At the time, I saw Macrina, Le fournil, and a few others I had not been to before. Came here one afternoon to study. The ambience was very chill, not too many people during the day. There's a lot of natural light from the windows which is greatly appreciated. A few things that I didn't quite do it for me was the music and the barista. The music was a bit too loud and music choice didn't mesh with my taste. The barista may have been having a bad day but she wasn't that personable and seemed annoyed both times when I came to her for something. This is my second time here now, and I am sold! I love the overall ambiance when you walk in. The windows let in a ton of light and the space feels clean and organized. The people here are friendly and relaxed. I don't feel like I have to order my drink quickly. The espresso is delicious. Im not sure who makes it, but it's nice and strong. I have tried both iced and hot americanos now. Another important part of a coffee shop for me is the food. I usually am ready for a bite to eat. I tried the O'brien breakfast burrito and the caprese sandwich. They both got warmed up in the panini and were delicious! I'm excited to try the cookies next time around. The employees have been extremely friendly and helpful thus far. Im also happy about how the shop tries to reduces the use of disposable cups! Having just moved to the neighborhood, I thought I'd try this cute neighborhood spot. I stopped in around 11am on a Sunday and ordered a simple drip coffee. This tiny, 8 oz coffee was the worst coffee I've ever purchased. This must have been a bad batch..because the top half was watered down and the bottom half was coffee grounds. The barista was super nice, but you'd think he would notice when there were coffee grounds on the sides and lid. read more

Definately my favorite study spot in Seattle. Quite, so maybe I shouldn't tell you about the place :p. Plenty of seating and outlets, far from transients. However, lately their internet has been really spotty, so I really hope they get it fixed. I have had to leave right after I finish a cup because I can't keep a connection. When I can, I spend hours here and keep my cup full (as in I keep ordering/paying for more drinks). Please fix it, or I won't be able to keep driving here from Cap Hill :( read more

place is impressive with I think even GREATER POTENTIAL which I hope the owners might consider. Normally I do NOT like the modern sleek look coffee shop,that is sprouting up around town (broadcast coffee on Roosevelt) not my favorite) but this one has a different coolness to it.....The hanging glass artwork is a SUPER DUPER TOUCH. So nice to look at ......PLUS THE ROOM...Nice size...some artists selling their works on wall be a good touch too? be a very classy venue to have artwork to view.... LIGHTHOUSE COFFEE awesome..., the Americano I had and the mocha my gf had were very good...I do not mind paying a little more for really good and this was that today...so product of coffee very good.. the WATER CUPS are really cool to me..I get so tired of paper or plastic cups. The cups here are the best get your own water cups I have seen in a coffee place.. post cost of refills? I think one refill 75 cents or less is a good move but I get it coffee is expensive but still folks want close to a free refill.... go for modern feel with a little bit of comfy comfy comfy...maybe a touch of fremont in Bryant? suggestions...COMFY CHAIRS. .Some classy sleek black comfortable lounge type chairs upstairs? Great new and very welcome addition to this little corner of Bryant...Great coffee, italian sodas, snacks, pastries, sandwiches, etc. Yesterday on the first day of opening, there was very much a family type atmosphere going on downstairs, some people quietly working in the nice space upstairs, and very kid friendly as you would expect a café in this part of town to be. Barista was super friendly, welcoming, and made a great espresso. Lots of plug ins near the walls for you worker bees out there needing a spot for your laptops/devices. Will become my new regular spot in this 'hood from now on for sure. read more

This place is the best! Inexpensive with good coffee and baked goods/sandwiches, and always lots of seating (there's a substantial upstairs with about a dozen tables) - I've never come in ready to study only to find that there's not a place to get comfy. The owner's are almost always there working, and are very personable and warm. They go out of their way to remember you, even though they have plenty of regulars. They have local artist's work up on the walls for sale, and an elongated blown glass sculpture hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the cafe that is very pretty in all shades of blue. In the hallway for the bathroom there's a wall that's papered with posters for events (good for perusing when waiting for the bathroom), and there's a cork board for community posting (music lessons, apt hunting, etc. that kind of thing). The music is usually something calm, jazz or something slightly upbeat but still soothing/background noise, but not Top 40 or songs you've heard a million times. It's not overly loud so pretty easy to tune out if you don't like it. I love this place and am so glad that it exists! I love the atmosphere and the mochas so it's my go-to spot for studying and writing :) read more
